Touro college will NOT accept any student who got their BA through tti. So make sure you dont want to go to touro before you do anything. Most regular colleges, community colleges etc, will accept your undergrad degree from tti. Tti usually gets their BAs through excelsior college if i am not mistaken, maybe daemen but im almost positive excelsior. Yale Harvard Columbia are probably not accepting this degree…. but if youre getting your BA through tti, im not too worried about that:)
also, its a very self motivated BA program so you really need to push yourself, and then youll have your degree in a very short time. But you really need to push yourself. Masters program is regular college, you go to classes and have professors etc, so its not as much as a self motivated program as it is a regulare college with regular semesters etc.
good luck.
theObviousMemberonce you are in, they assign you an advisor which many times, can be very hard to get through to and very unreliable. it can get very frustrating. just be aware of that beforehand.
theObviousMemberwow, i miss dr. pepper
theObviousMemberthanks all of you! nfgo3, im going to basil! thank you!
theObviousMemberooooooh ill do it
theObviousMember@LAB, if you knew he was a serial killer, then so would the rest of the world… so what do you need a picture for?
October 8, 2013 11:13 pm at 11:13 pm in reply to: Why no mention of Rav Ovadiah in Monsey/Lakewood, etc. #978743theObviousMemberBefore you go disrespecting all of monsey and lakewood, saying how now you have no respect for them and all that, step back. A gadol bYisroel was just niftar. The first thing you can do is make more machlokes by pitting against ashkenazik communities? just because this is online does not mean you are not responsible for the loshon hara and the damage you cause.
We are all affected by this huge loss equally. A gadol bYisroel, whom we need desperately, has been lost. Baruch Dayan Haemes
theObviousMemberAt this age, they are more self aware in some sense and would understand why you would send them to a therapist/psychologist or for any sort of professional help. If you want to help this traumatized young man, then the most you can do to help is give him the opportunity to go for professional help– someone recommended.
Good luck
theObviousMemberdamoshe- they really cancelled it. its not such a big deal because you only need 3 sciences to get a regents diploma
theObviousMemberits true

theObviousMembermeohr is pretty academic as tehy have a lot of work but the hashkafa comes first and they work with you to make it on whatever level you are on. meohr this year is not at all rebellious- pretty much the same type of girls as bnos chava. very good girls. ye, in the past it may not have been that great but this year they got a uniform and rabbi greenwald accepted very good girls.
theObviousMemberateres- nice kids, hashkafa is very mainstream, bais yaakov but individual. they have tracked classes so it can be very easy or average. it depends on your grades. but they work with you. and tehre is a normal amount of free time.
meohr– their hashkafa is each person goes in the mehalech that is best suited for them because they are each their own person with their own strength and weaknesses. its about doing whatever it takes to become close to hashem in their own way. and there is NOT ALOT of free time. classes all day. 3 hours a day to do schoolwork which they have alot of. i dont know that much about the girls.
darchei bina- much more open and different girlwise, average free time. the classes are chosen so you pick when you have your own classes so you sort of make your own schedule. so you can make it that you have the free time when you want it. hashkafa is pretty much the same as meohr but more open to different types and different backgrounds.
good luck
theObviousMemberin meohr there are 35 different schools from all over- towny and in towny. there are around 100 this year im almost positive
theObviousMemberhehe- meohr is not yeshivish at all. its frum. but not yeshivish. not that crowd.
theObviousMemberi only know meohr so thats all i can help you with. the girls this year are an amazing group. rabbi greenwald tried really hard to filter the group and he did a great job from what i hear. good luck!
theObviousMembernanny- unfortunately, most girls these days listen to non jewish music. in most BY seminaries, you wont hear the music out loud though. and by the way you described yeshivish with never showing the knees… sorry but its not going to be that way. unfortunately, a majority of the girls have a hard time with that.
and nanny- sorry but meohr is academic with a lot of work and a lottttttttttt of class. but the hashkafa balances it out. it is hard to get into but you will get in if you are right for it.
good luck wherever you end up!!
theObviousMemberwomen in general are busy. they are making food to feed their family, cleaning up after their children and husband (or just children if their husband is in the city) and doing all the things women do which make them good mothers! since that is their job as an eishes chayil, its quite meaningful. so theres your answer.
theObviousMemberel angelo caramel!!
theObviousMemberweirdly enough, taking probiotic pills work. try it!
theObviousMemberI eat
theObviousMembercinderella- when they ask you for your license and registration, you slip the pba or sba card and ya say “seargent so and so says i should give you this” and it all works from there:)
theObviousMemberwent through this thread and brony, i had to laugh! youre nuts:) but i like this threda alotttt!!!!!!!!!!! but what you said about the heels and the uggs- come one! we wear heels to look pretty and then give our feet a vacay with out heaven yummy uggs! give us something!! and about the cologne, nah. i wont say i dont like it but still, nahhh.

im still laughing at this thread!!
theObviousMemberI took the PSATslast year and got in like the 80 something percentile for both and then did not study a word for the SATs and took it in december… i got a 1400. (or 2000 if youre including writing). not that bad.
theObviousMemberoneofmany- black coffee doesnt need milk….. please say you get it now….!
theObviousMemberits weird but i feel that if they didnt accept me, ill feel stupid going to a place that didnt want me. and that rule is not so smart because you cant really stop girls from talking! they should be that intuitive on their own!
theObviousMemberyes. 7 girls were accepted.
theObviousMemberas in we are all sheep? hehe
theObviousMemberi participate sometimes:)
theObviousMemberi heard that many people applied and i know that just in my school, 24 girls applied. including me. it makes alot of sense that that is the number.
theObviousMemberthanks happym19. im not really upset about not getting in because whatever is supposed to happen will happen im just ypset about the whole rejection situation… and then everyone calls everyone to ask “if its ok to ask” and then the next day in school having to deal with everyone else getting in…..
theObviousMemberi stop at yellow lights. and im a very good driver. its probably the more safe thing to do as opposed to speed up and possibly make it through a red… not to mention that if cameras get a pic youll be ticketed 🙂
theObviousMemberthe kotzker rebba used to seclude himself in his room for hours on end just learning. once, a talmid wanted to see him (i think this is how the story goes but eitherway, its the punchline that matters) so he went right outside and listened through an open window… a few minutes in without even looking up, the rebbe said “farmacht de fensters, dem velt shtenk” close the windows, the world stinks.
theObviousMemberi applied to three seminaries and didnt get into any :/
theObviousMemberwow- did not realize how quick this works! that was fast popa- 😉
theObviousMemberi am cracking up. i do not post alot but i have been reading the coffee room for a loooong time! last nights argument was the funnest thread i have seen here in a while. since like way back when Dr. pepper was around and when boro park totty was an avid poster. I mean, when do you get to have a real debate like that EVER?;) just because popa brings stuff that are interesting to debate into the cr does not mean hes antagonistic about anything. from the posts HE posted, he did not sound antagonistic. just fun! i am a popa fan. always been! and ursula- why was that not called using the cr for good? whats the cr meant for? in this case the cr was being used to ts full potential- a real conversation.not a bunch of posts on “how this thread is insane” and ” what is popa thinking” there were many of those but the majority just argued bak with their opinions! and there were alot of smart posts on that thread. just what the cr is all about! so why is that not called using it for the good? and i’m not trying to say anything bad about anyone here- just my opinions that were forming as i read the thread! have a gr8 one!
theObviousMembercome on eclipse. this is just hysterical!! well, for you it might be scary but this is seriously the funniest thing that can happen here! someone figure out who you are!! i really thought that whoule you and kapusta thing was funny!
theObviousMemberYes. i see it in my own family and so many others. for example- my father is a really generous man and i see it in my siblings- they all are just generous. Its the strangest thing. It goes for alot of things. EVERYTHING is hereditary. i think it is the coolest. To know that every character trait i have was had before me for years. They say that cohanim all have hot feet because they used to walk around barefoot in the B”HMK… don’t know if it is true but sorta brings out my point! well, thats not really a middah but OK.
theObviousMemberyou know what, you are all arguing with society. NOBODY is changing society with the snap of a finger. Its a veeery gradual change. And what society says, or at least the frum yeshivish community, is that wearing anything but the typical black and white or occasional t-shirt is rebelling against society. That you do not want to be like everyone else. Which, in my opinion, is true. Why do you specifically have to “instigate” and wear something to make you stand out? obviously you dont not want to be the typical yeshivish person! which is not a bad thing but you are making a statement that you are different. Which is not the typical yeshivish way.But that does not mean it is “wrong”. It is not wrong but it makes you different. Not yeshivish. If you don’t want to be perceived as “yeshivish” then kol hakovod!!
Another thought- what does clothes have to do with religious?? its just what society accepts. Not “religious”.only YOU know how religious you really are.
theObviousMemberBeing ready for marriage is not only about maturity. Very nice a 15 year old girl is “more mature than a 19 year old” but really, age makes a huge difference. No matter how immature a 19 year old is, she has more life experience than a 15 year old “mature” girl. You need to experience life and how the world runs before you get married which no one has by 15, 16. Or very rarely does anyone at a young age have such life experience. And it does not even have to be experiencing drastic things but just living life. living it for longer. So really, what I am trying to say, is that the older the better, No matter how mature!
theObviousMember🙂 joke’s on me!
theObviousMemberBP Totty- you are HYSTERICAL!! But for real I know a girl who got married at sixteen and her friends were having a hard time going to the wedding… their regent was the next day! so she had to make it up in August because she wanted her regents diploma or something like that! cute, no?
January 19, 2011 3:19 am at 3:19 am in reply to: Take The Courage Test! See How High You Score! #729980theObviousMemberthanks eclipse! 🙂
theObviousMemberI really hope its not true…
theObviousMemberhow about waterbury? not so far but not so close to nyc- maybe hour and a half drive. great houses and a nice jewish community.
theObviousMemberare you hinting something…? 🙂
January 17, 2011 4:20 am at 4:20 am in reply to: Know anything about getting into law school? #748276theObviousMemberi have heard plenty of people complain that they did not gain sufficient writing skills in high school or earlier because it affected their writings in college. so i guess, popa, my answer is yes.
theObviousMembervery cute!! but hey… that IS a good idea…
theObviousMembercan someone explain mewhos post? i am really confused… i guess i’m slow 🙂
