I heard a great vort.
Even though Eliyahu Hanavi won the war against Baal at Har HaCarmel, the Jews still went back to Avodah Zorah. Eliyahu then asked Hashem to take his life. Hashem then told Eliyahu Hanavi, “you gave up hope on the Jewish people, so now you will have to visit them at the Seder, and at the Bris Millah”. The very two things that almost every single Jew, religious or not does.

thecommissionerParticipantIt seems that in today’s day and age, every newly married couple “goes on food stamps”. Food stamps was not created to supplement peoples income. Food stamps were created, because there were people who were not able to put food on their tables. If you lease a new Honda, and you apply for food stamps, your stealing, period, end of the story.
There are many people who try to justify themselves stealing from the government. “I pay more then my fair share of taxes” “if “yenem” gets food stamps, why can’t I?”
Hashem makes sure each person gets what they deserve, if you get something by stealing it, it gets equaled out by flat tires, and other expenses. I have found that I live much easier not having all these “extra expenses”
thecommissionerParticipantMy Carbon Monoxide detector went off 3 am. I immediately opened my windows and door to air out the house. Carbon Monoxide detectors save lives!!

The “dream girl” does not exist. The whole idea of a “dream girl” is one put out by Hollywood to make movies sell. Take the concept of a dream girl. Basically in your head, you decide exactly how the girl is going to look, talk, walk, and eat. This is what we in the medical field call hallucination. It is impossible, except for a prophet (the ones on the Q train don’t count) to know what type of girl your going to find.
I find it very sad and unfortunate, that so many older boys and girls are still looking for their “fantasy girl/boy”. If only they would open their eyes and realize that this phenomenon doesn’t exist, we may all see more simchas.
P.S. When I was dating I also had a dream girl in mind, when my wife came around, all ideas of a dream girl went out the window. My wife surpassed any dream I could possibly have had of a girl. I just hope that all those singles reading this won’t miss the opportunity of a life time, and push off a “dream guy/girl” for their “fantasy” one.
