When someone knows that they are not depressed and actually not upset, it helps to focus and realize that during an inadvertant cry. It can help to take off the spell of the cry, to view it as a body spasm rather than an emotional state.

6HZ, did you talk early? I noticed by children that when they are able to put things into words, hereby solidifying and classifying what they see, they remember it better.

Almost all cellphone companies accept email. If you can send a text message to email, you can recieve one, too. The only thing is that every company has it’s own address system. Verizon has number@vtext.com and Sprint has number@messaging.sprintpcs.com and so on. You can find it online.

There are some great books from Reb Arye Kaplan. Most are deep, but some are less. He wrote, ‘The Handbook of Jewish Thought’, which is a Kitzur Shulchan Aruch on Hashkafa — a concise and straight to the point guide of what the Yesodos Emuna are on different topics.

I don’t think it’s ‘Choshed’ you. A suspicion is an intellectual function. The animal is upset, but shallow. It is not reading deeper into things and neither should you.

When you post something, it shows up with full force. When I say to myself, ‘hmmm’ or ‘aha’, it means I’m considering what I hear. When I post a comment saying, ‘aha’, that is a statement. It can either sound sarcastic or GREAT!!! You can’t post a light nod.

Some of my threads have sunk to the second-to-bottom page. (People sometimes look at the last page, but nothing’s worse than second-to-bottom.)

A thread killer is someone who put it so well that there is nothing else left to say. At least that’s the way I take it.

Like I wrote on the ‘like button’ thread, many times there are comments that I agree with very much, or that make me smile. However, I won’t post a comment consisting of just, ‘LOL’. If there is what to add or refine or argue, I’d comment.

Keep in mind that nothing goes unnoticed. Notice that nobody repeats what you write. That’s because they read it!

Actually, I chose Gid Hanashe over Neveila, which has the same Taam. But as you say, it could be anything with a different Taam. The “put in” that I wrote was a total mistake. As I was typing I had in mind to correct it.

    BSD,

I imagine that adding a drop of Gid Hanasha to a pot of meat that has a 60th of milk, would be Mattir the whole pot.

I never heard of any Gezeira for a Sakana. I guess the Chachamim understood that it’s something you’d care enough about on your own to be careful. What would they have done in our self neglecting generation?

Where do you find that a person is Treif? Surely, you may not eat one, but not that it’s Treif. Think about it: Your tongue is in your mouth for over 24 hours. What do you do about that, wrap it in paper?

We see that a live animal is not food from Hilchos Tumas Ochlin. There are probably more instances to point to which are not on my mind right now, but it is a very strong Svara.

More to the root of the issue, Your hand doesn’t get cooked. Although you can argue that meat doesn’t either cook in a fraction of a second, Kach Shiurei Chachomin. Also, dead meat is inert, giving room for the concept of K’dei Klipa. Live muscle has circulation of blood and works together.

Ever Min Hachai is dead meat by the time you are eating it.

We know that the Arizal celebrated Lag Baomer at the Maara in Maron. The Arizal also made a Chalaqa, although Reb Chaim Vittal wasn’t sure if there is what to learn from that. The Minhag in Eretz Yisroel is a very old one. All Poskim that witnessed it, even if they had inhibitions of Baal Tashchis, decided not to intefere.

Ok. When I was Bar Mitzva age, some friends did some hurtful stuff to me. I wrote down secretly on a small paper in Yiddish but Russian letters, never to forget what they did, and hid it in my drawer. Well, one older brother, who was able to read Russian, came across it. Upon seeing it, he told me, “Why would you want to remember a fight?”

    No. Not you.

Moshe Rabbeinu told Klal Yisroel that when there will be a Beis Hamikdash, it won’t be anymore the idea of Ish Kol Hayashar Be’einav Yaaseh’, and that we will be one people and come to one place. Following this logic, it seems to follow that when Moshiach comes, the same thing will apply. Just like he will physically gather the scattered Yidden, so too will he bring us together to become more of a single people.

It only makes sense that our Havaros that were so affected by the countries we spent Galus in, will be dropped — perhaps not in one generation. Levush, too, will most probably become universal.

Moshiach is not just another, more succesful leader. Moshiach is Ram Venisa Ugevo’a Me’od. It is a new type of era, where Ruchnius will reign.

Daas, you make a good point. How about only a “like” button without a “not-like” button? There are many times that I read a post that I agree to very much and enjoyed. I wouldn’t want to bespeckle the thread with, “oh yeah”s. A “like” button would come in handy.

I’m sure it would be very contested. It will probably make it to the Federal Supeme Court. Although it might seem obvious that it is infringing on a group’s religious practice, rendering it unconstitutional, in the end, it’s in the hand of a judge — and as we know, they decide what they want to decide rather than what their deep pondering of the meaning of the law tells them.

Or, preface your statement with many disclaimers, such as: I don’t think she’s less Frum than me, but I wanted to go a certain route that I see her dressing doesn’t match.

I would advise however that you speak this over will relatives who’s opinion you trust. Perhaps what you notice is a minor issue that she can change on demand. She might be dressing up to a standard that she feels would be Shidduch inducing. Once she is engaged to someone who does not appreciate that way of dressing she might just switch. This needs someone who knows both of you well enough (besides the Shadchan).

Right now, the stuff is fresh in your mind, giving you the impression that you are a changed person. If you persistently stay away from it, and change your focus to better things, it will fade. Innocence in the technical sense doesn’t come back — the information doesn’t fly out. However, how much that matters, can change.

BTW, are you the one who caused that good boy to be expelled from Yeshiva :?)
