Shimon’s Nachlah was split. One part was together with Yehuda and the other was further north.

Some don’t hold of this Minhag of owning a dog and think of it as Chukos Hagoyim. Others say you can be Yotzei with fish. I’m trying to be Yotzei with money.

If you are allowed to help your animal walk because of Tzaar Baalei Chayim, why shouldn’t you be able to pet it as long as you don’t lift it?

There is a different problem with talking to it. Since it doesn’t understand, you are transgressing Al Tochach Letz. (If you think this is Letzanus, then surely you may not rebuke me.)

That applies to the other rule, that it can only be Leshaata. But as far as being a Hak’chasha of Toras Moshe, why tthe difference between AZ and any other Aveira? Obviously, the difference is inherent, there can’t be a Horo’as Shaah for AZ.

Another problem I have with that claim is the Heter of Ahava Veyir’a, in which the Rambam takes it even further than others, IIRC.

I don’t know why it is pushed off to Tuesday, so I am imagining it is because of Bahav. If so, the Taanis should be Nidche from the Chag instead of the other way around.

Now, my Shabbos question is, is Machshava enough or does it need a Maaseh? Also, according to the Mechaber about Kadur, does a Maaseh even help?

Sam, we know that Horo’as Sha’ah can’t be used for Avoda Zara. If so, how was Moshe Rabbeinu supposed to talk to the rock? I think this is proof against what that person said.

On the other hand, this rule might only apply to real, original Avoda. I say this because we do find Horo’as Sha’ah to use Avoda Zara animals on a Bama. I think this was by Gilad.

Well, the Torah does show some kind of negative attitude in Hilchos Mechir Kelev. It doesn’t mean we hate the species. We can even love it, but we know that it is especially Tamei. The same goes for the Davar Achar. We have nothing personal against it, but we know that it represents Tuma — with no fault of its own. Rav Pam once said that it is not the pig’s fault that Hashem made it a pig.

Are you sure it is without an agreement?

I don’t know why you would find it outrageous that a Rav gave a shiur when invited to do so without researching their liscence and FCC laws. Do they research the zoning laws of every Shul before Darshening there? Now that it was brought out it remains to be seen what they will do.

Or maybe it is to show that it is Gebakken Noch Pesach. The proof is that we put in the key that the Goy gave back.

Not the FCC, but it is a good reason that WALK shouldn’t mind striking some deal. Perhaps that is what they did which would explain why they are on sometimes but not all the time.

The way it works is that what isn’t currently in the news is not on our mind. We want people to care so it has to stay in the front page. I also know about the new Dayan Emes section and yet it keeps coming up in the news again.

A real good Tzedaka cause does not need and should not do any advertisement!!!!!

Let’s make a very small-scale study. We’ll narrow it down to one person. What is the first Tzeddaka that comes to mind? Well, I can say that what comes to my mind is Kupat Hair (obviously), Bonei Olam and Hatzalah. Do you know why?

In our (Ashkenazic, at least) system we have a Dagesh for the Beis, Kaf, Peh and Tav. Originally, there was one for the Gimmel, Daled and Resh. Temanim have the Gimmel and Daled but not the Reish, which I am told shows up exactly once in Tanach.

Rav Ben-Zion Wosner wrote about that. He showed from many angles how this is the case.

Matzoh is about Yetzias Mitzraim, not the Avdus. There is the Pshat on Di Achalu Avhasana which the Abudarham quotes that they give this to Avadim.

And then there’s the Rebbe who Davka ate a non-burned Matzah during the Seder, just to show the Brisker Rav that there is nothing to worry about.

Our menu is growing by proving everybody wrong. So far we have Cholent, Matza, kneidlach, and wiskey on Purim. What else can I prove now? I’m hungry.
