The Best BubbyParticipantThere is an escalator in the Great Synagogue of Yerushalayim that is operative every Shabbos and Yom Tov. It goes from the ground main floor all the way up to the top floor of the Ezrat Nashim. Everyone uses it as there are about 4 or 5 flights of stairs to get up to the Ezrat Nashim. It is on continuously during the times of davening.
Hope this info helps.
The Best BubbyParticipantOur second son’s best friend in Ramat Beit Shemesh, named their new born daughter Ayelet Hallel, in memory of Hallel Yaffa H’YD.

The Best BubbyParticipantI went on the internet looking for Lavender Extract under Hechsher. I found a company called Silver Cloud Estates in Maryland, (1410 565 6600), which sells it. I called them from the UK and they gave me their customer service supervisor’s email. The supervisor replied to me that their extracts are under hechsher from Earth Kosher, which is under Rabbi Z. Blech of Monsey, whose phone number is 1845 304 7506. The hechsher is reliable according to the CRC.
Hope this helps you. B’hatzlacha!

There is a website FrumLondon that will tell you all information of all shops, butchers, bakeries etc. All kosher shops in London are Shomer Shabbos.
Wishing you much Hatzlacha Rabbah in all that you do.
The Best BubbyParticipantThere are French speakers in Rabbi Bassous’ shul, 187 Golders Green Road, and in Rabbi Doron’s shul on the corner of Golders Green Road and Golders Manor Drive. Also, there are French speakers in the Kosher Deli Butcher on Golders Green Road which is next door to Carmelli’s, the kosher bakery. Also, in Menachem’s Butcher Shop on Golders Green Road and the corner of Alba Gardens. Everywhere one goes in Golders Green and Hendon, there are many French and Hebrew speakers. Behatzlacha!

The Best BubbyParticipantDaMoshe: May H’KBH grant you chaim tovim aruchim ve kalim veneiim, an abundance of HAGEFEN = Hatzlacha Rabbah bechol maasei yadecha, Gut, Gezunt, Gebenched Langer Yahren, Good Parnasa b’Shefa, Yiddishe Nachus, a double portion of Yirat shamayim ve chet, menuchat hanefesh ve guf, osher with aleph and osher with ayin, refuot, yeshuot, nechamot, zivuggim hagunim, zerah shel kaaimah for all who need them, many simachot with simcha, shalom ve shalvah, ahavat chinum, and may all your tefillot be answered le tovah always, and may you be zocher to dance in the Beit Hamikdash b’karov!!
Please give a special bracha for a complete and very speedy refuah shelama for a very fine young yeshiva bochur who is very seriously ill R’L. His name is Dov Nechemia ben Rochel Chaya Sarah besoch kol cholei am Yisrael b’karov! Omein Kein Yehe Razon!

The Best BubbyParticipantGG yekke: Wishing you a refuah shelamh b’karov besoch kol cholei yisrael!
I would be so grateful if you can write the name of the doctor of whom you had seen as an outpatient for the rhuematoid arthritis? A very young member of my family (in Golders Green),is suffering very badly and no one is helping her or any medication. Thank you in advance!
The Best BubbyParticipantI don’t know why everyone here has become so misrable and sarcastic! No wonder so many good people have left the Coffee Room. You should all practice AHAVAT CHINUM rather than to be known, chas ve shalom, for Sinas Chinum!
All the kosher food in Gibralter is imported, especially the meat comes from London. All the shops that are owned by Yidden (98% are owned by Yidden) are shomer shabbos and can be found on the main street.
The Kollel is an excellent one and there are many ex Gibraltarians living in London. It is worth to call the Sephardi Beth Din in London and speak to their Dayanim, whom can advise you more easily.
Much Hatzlacha in all that you do!
The Best BubbyParticipantShalomToYou: You are right! It has happened a few times and now absolute silence B’H!. And, if only one Rav would do this in his shul and make a stand, the word would get around, and it would become a known fact that talking and cell phones are a big NO NO!
A Gut Shabbos to everyone!
The Best BubbyParticipantIn our shul in London, the Rav Shlita has put up a sign on the Shul’s notice boards that if someone’s phone goes off while they are in Shul, (EXCEPT HATZOLAH!) they must pay 30 pounds sterling to the shul gemach, payable to the Rav Shlita immediately! A few times, phones have rung and the Rav Shlita has collected handsomely for the Gemach!
There is also a picture of a soldier talking on his cell phone with his teffilin on davening during one of the recent wars with a caption, “this is when it is allowed to speak on the phone during davening”!
We should all be zocher to daven with kavana and may all our tefillot be answered le tova imminently!
The Best BubbyParticipantIt is actually written in Shulchan Aruch, that to go in stocking feet is a sign of aveilus. One should wear shoes or slippers. My parents A’H were very makpid on this inyan and so are we.
Wishing all a Gut Shabbos!
