Little FroggieMember
JF: I like your answer.
Little FroggieMemberSam2: That’s my question – why even fewer, let there be none!
and JF, of course we’re humans, but we don’t have to anticipate sinning. Especially at the onset of our holy Shabbos.
February 28, 2014 8:06 am at 8:06 am in reply to: What's your style when poor people come collecting at your door? #1006200Little FroggieMemberjbaldy22, We know, because we’re on the CR, maybe he doesn’t visit the CR. How should he know you get a Mazel Tov (oh! I forgot you put a sign on the door, maybe he couldn’t read English / Hebrew / Russian / Spanish)
Little FroggieMemberIt’s an old argument (gasp) that just because sinas chinam was the primary cause of the second churban bayis, just having ahavas chinam will do the quick fix. Many Seforim list a lot of aspects that need tikun. I may have written a few with an old s/n (gasp again), foremost being limud haTorah, as the Ohr haChayim writes explicitly.
I love your suggestion, though it has been suggested here before (old timers can list the links). I just have one problem with it. You want me to list the “maalos”, praises of another “camp”, group. What if that will identify me, my “camp”. If I write praises of chassidim, you’ll know I’m a misnaged. If I write maalos about Zionists you’ll know I’m a Neturei Karta (or a Katan).
February 27, 2014 7:52 pm at 7:52 pm in reply to: Which CR poster are you going as this purim? #1006250Little FroggieMemberLike a Mod. (where can i get a pitchfork?)
Little FroggieMemberNot nice to make fun of us board people. (Besides, did you ignore this one?)
Little FroggieMember<Channel 3324.5566, not a true emergency>
Welcome back ballhabooze. Good to see you. (have that CR-member-tracking-surveillance device, can see you. Right now you’r Hey, don’t give away our little secret.
By any chance, are your frogs big or little? For little ones you could buy an editor or moderator in you local hardware store, that should be enough to stop little ones from coming through…
Little FroggieMemberHate to interrupt this most important communication. But your wrong, dead (not a good word to use here) wrong.
Every here knows what they’re talking about. They’re all most competent. It pays to follow everyone’s advice.
Little FroggieMemberS.W.A.T.
No need. There can always be an explosion of proZionist / antiZionist threads detonation at any given moment. Trust me, they’re fascinating (just don’t get too close, stay clear of the rubble). Then there’e this infestation of Seminary threads, you’d get dizzy trying to keep track of what’s who and who’s what.
It’s almost Purim, you know, and then the “should you drink”, “can you drink”, “are you allowed to drink” threads come up or are re-re-re-bumped.
You ain’t seen notin’
Little FroggieMember.. the last one. Yup! That’s me. “Everyone”. and Oh, yeah, I’m baruch HaShem fine. Thanks for taking note.
Little FroggieMemberTalmidchochom:
I suppose you’re addressing little me. And the answer is RIGHT HERE! It generally takes about 1 – 2 years to complete the full course, in-depth training.
Course includes watching as suspicions, accusations arise between members, between staff. Watching (in horror, or other, in fascination) as one member engages another in dialog. The tone, the words (WORDS?!?), the fire, the (holy, wholly, holey) smoke. Oh. It’s called conversation. There’s a special dictionary for those endearing titles used here. After 1 – 2 years one get certified…
Little FroggieMemberMazel Tov!
(I guess now you could announce to your parents / in-laws that she was expecting…, I mean you told us a week ago)
Little FroggieMemberNO Oomis, don’t settle for anything less.
I once heard a shiur from Rav Mattisyahu Solomon Shlita where he says that “life” is defined by something one cannot have enough of. Imagine, he says, an old man, healthy and of sane mind, with full mental capacity. He makes a party for his family and friends “I had enough of life, tomorrow I’m dying”. We generally don’t hear such stories. One want life FOREVER! It’s an inborn mechanism HaShem ingrained into all living beings, to preserve themselves “naturally”.
So No, May you live till (past) 140. Productive and useful, healthy and happy good years. (then come back for another brocho “Hey great great great great grandchildren, someone 80 years ago gave me a brocho for long life, in the CR… let’s go find..”)
Little FroggieMemberYeah, I know. Imagine all the good old timers stopped by . . .
Little FroggieMemberI hear (well not really) AND UNDERSTAND you.
Little FroggieMemberLet’s try. At the beginning, the VERY beginning of Yehoshua, we find explicitly ?? ???? ??? ????? ??? ???? ????? ?? ???? ?????. That was said to the conquering general and army. That was to be the main mission of the nation. And it was.
We find Nach replete with meforshim saying how diligent they were in regard to Torah study. How generals at war had Torah on their mouths and mind. David haMelech would “talk in learning” when visiting with kings. ?????? ??????? ??? ?????. Anyone remember the query how an amputee does Chalitza? Or ???? ???, or ????? ???? ????? ?????, where these questions were asked? In the field, while running, engaging the enemy… As EOM (end of message?) so eloquently wrote: Torah was and is as much of a fabric of Jewish life as involuntary human reflexes.
Little FroggieMember(Oh, so you don’t know me yet!!)
Could be there was no Bais Hamikdash on Tisha b’Av.
(see thread about frogs and explaining jokes)
Little FroggieMemberOomis: Ta’anis Esther, if I recall correctly is to commemorate the three day fasting of the Yidden in Shushan, and the fasting of all the Yidden the day before the want out at war to protect themselves. We fast to memorialize the concept that HaShem is ???? ?????? ????. That’s not really a contradiction to merriment.
It is those sad occasions, whose fast commemorates mourning, that are a contradiction to making merry.
(I think in the Bais Hamikdash, the Leviim played music on Yom Kippur, on Tisha bAv they didn’t)
Little FroggieMemberAh, slowly, ever so slowly, they’re coming out of hiding.
Little FroggieMemberDY:
Welcome to America – since when does legal reasoning make sense?
Little FroggieMemberOomis: What’s so bad about living in good health to the ripe age of 130+?
May HaShem grant you a long, productive, fulfilling life.
Little FroggieMemberI could list a lot of houses that are not shoveling now.
Little FroggieMemberI pasken that I remember hearing some prohibition on asara bteves. I further pasken I may be wrong.
and as far as the Spanish expulsion, I think the Rabbonim permittted it for those TWO reasons. Because they were going Al Kiddush HaShem, they permitted it in order to lift their spirits. (I don’t remember a pikuach nefesh factor) And I think it wasn’t the Abarbanel who was the one who permitted it, rather the general Rabbinic presence.
(drawing on memory), again I pasken I may be wrong.
Little FroggieMemberMost definitely so. That’s why most of the time YW won’t allow posting names of subject. They do have s staff of diligent and vigilant workers who try to keep this place safe. Defining hints and revealing identities are generally deleted/edited. One may always request a certain revealing, damaging, lashon hara laden thread be deleted.
THANK YOU, MOD(0-1000) Welcome.
Little FroggieMemberI forgot how to type a dot. (oops)
Kidding aside, I think they use the bottom one. (oops again)
Little FroggieMemberSure. They both (Sharia and American Law) both borrowed a ton from us, Torah people.
Little FroggieMemberNot at all nice of you, HaLeiVi. You don’t have me in mind. Where’s you mentchlichkeit? Where’s you bein adam lchaveiro? And you go to pray (and daven too) three times daily as if you’re a righteous, pious tzaddik, not having me in mind. I call that a <DELE [undeleted] hypocrite.
Little FroggieMemberGamanit:
I wrote that earlier:
..put up signs all around that say “WARNING – SNOW !!” or distribute leaflets “Walking in Snow for Dummies”
“Some studies have proven that snow or ice can become slippery, thereby causing one who steps on it, to slip and fall. While we don’t know exactly how it works, studies proves that such has been the case for quite a long time. When walking outside and snow is suspected of being present, one should tend to look where he/she’s going…
Little FroggieMember(someone’s testing my resolve)
Little FroggieMemberTrust, that is exactly what I’m writing. Clearing one’s own (governmentally acquired) property, is not an issue of bein adam lachaveiro, it is just a government required activity. to my humble opinion.
Bain adam lachaveiro would be to clear city streets, put up signs all around that say “WARNING – SNOW !!” or distribute leaflets “Walking in Snow for Dummies”
Little FroggieMemberAgain, the snow is not your (or my) fault. The city makes you do it, it’s between the city and the landowner, NOT the people. Caring for another fellow does not stop at the end of your sidewalk. So if you’re shoveling because of bain adam lachaveiro, why not do the whole block.
Little FroggieMemberzd, you probably did not understand. This has nothing to do with bein adam lchavero. It is not you hezek, you did not put the snow there, and the area does not belong to you, or you could just rope of the area. If you want to be nice and shovel YOUR sidewalk, why not do it for anyone and everyone else. What makes your sidewalk your bain adam lchavero. The government makes it your responsibility, it is a responsibility to the city, not to the people. (I myself don’t own, I shovel regardless, neighbors’ too)
Little FroggieMemberWhen they’re called in to collect evidence…
Little FroggieMember(like everyone else here) Oh, really?!
Little FroggieMemberI don’t think I’d be allowed to play on Yom Kippur (outside the bais hamikdash). Listening, I think (I’m playing Rav now) would be permitted. On tisha b’av one may only play and listen if qoing out r”l into exile, al kidush HaShem. Taanis Esther both listening and playing are permitted. Asarah b’teves and shiva asar b’tamuz, both are forbidden (unless you’re an amateur, and the instrument is a violin – OUCH!!). Tzom Gedaliah I pasken that I don’t know.
Little FroggieMemberThreads commented last by someone on a mass thread-bumping rampage. Hours of operation xx:xx – xx:xx (36 hour format).
Little FroggieMemberDY: That was my “chakira” earlier
Little FroggieMemberY & P: No. You’re you like I’m me. Don’t get me confused. If I’ll convince myself that I’m me, then maybe you’d be you. Until then..
Little FroggieMemberSmiley: You’re not serious?!? Do you mean your father is not really a dentist?!? And the one who I went to (if that was your father) may actually just be a shoe maker?!? (no wonder my teeth…)
I WANT MY TEETH BACK!!
Little FroggieMemberFirst of all b’shaah tova to you Mrs. Jbaldy22 (see thread about when to announce…)
I wanted to write along the lines of DY. I’m not a homeowner (gasp) so I don’t know what constitutes the homeowner’s property. Something not on one’s property is definitely not his obligation in any way to remove, more than cleaning the street. The question would only be if the government makes it your responsibility, then by rote of dena demalchusa, it may become your property, to actually be mechuyav in damages (in din Torah). And then maybe p’tur of reshus harabim won’t apply. – just thinking out loud – I leave it for the leading Rabbis and Talmudicians of the hallowed Yeshiva World CR to discuss and decide.
Little FroggieMemberYou’re you like I’m me.
Little FroggieMemberHaKatan: I’m not really following the content, “tochen”, only the fun part. The wording, method and angle of attack,…
And I like your last line “…or will write” !!!
Little FroggieMemberSmiley: I forgot to ask today if he has any children prowling on the CR, until my mouth was out of commission (see opening remark). But no, they’re not evil at all (for a price)
Little FroggieMemberRabbahs wear ski masks.
Little FroggieMemberSorry for the reado
Little FroggieMemberNina, Pinta..
Little FroggieMemberAll loose minds were sold on eBay. (whose was that?)
Little FroggieMemberSmiley: No one was talking. And I doubt he was even referring to you. (or anyone, right?)
I LOVE the way you put it. Hey maybe he’s my dentist? (maybe I ask him tomorrow, that reminds me, ouch)
Little FroggieMemberScary, dangerous question.
I probably meet some others. I mean, there’s just so many (kain eyin hora) people in the world, you’re bound to at least once bump in to another.
I think we should have secret pins attached, in a unique, easily recognizable area, with one’s screen name. – No, you show me your’s before I show you mine! – Oh! (THATS YOU?!?!) I’m sorry I changed my mind. Not showing.
Little FroggieMemberLike I wrote, if you want us to believe you, we will. We’re a bunch of <Deleted>s anyways (hey, put it back). Pesi (no – not my name) Yaamin lchol Davar!
