    Just for the record, my post was a total joke. I was bored one night, and decided to write this piece. I was flabbergasted to find people taking this cause seriously. Its just an online forum for heaven’s sakes, how can there possibly be an issue with mixing genders?

    However, the responses did get me thinking. Can there actually be a real a problem? At first glance, it doesn’t seem so, for all the reasons yekke2 pointed out. In terms of the issue of inappropriate conversations, I daresay the mods have got that aspect under control. So the issue that’s left is the innocent conversations that involve people of the opposite genders. I remain HIGHLY skeptical that there can actually be a problem.

    But practically, even if there would be real issue, what can YWN do about this? They have no way of knowing who is a boy and who is a girl in order to separate them?

    Even if YWN would force people’s usernames to be non-denominational, people’s posts can still easily reveal their gender. Even though, as rebyidd23 said, any poster can be anyone, who they actually are makes little difference, its who you think they are that counts.

    So the bottom line? As far as I’m concerned, there’s ABSOLUTELY no problem. To those folks who maintain there is a problem, YW cant do much about it, so if you think its truly affecting your yiras shamayim, STOP USING THE COFFEE ROOM!

    Did you hear the other story?

    A man traveled to Zimbabwe for an exotic vacation. The night before he left, he got into a fight with a local and killed him. He then hid the body and flew home to Minnesota before the crime was discovered.

    This never happened, but if it would have, how many people do you think would be standing outside this man’s home right now shouting death threats?

    Something to ponder…

    I see they are evolving, they started off as cute, and now they have progressed to adorable, what’s next? I guess Darwin was right…

    It disgusts me to see the word “cute” in the same sentence as the word lizard. The way I see it, g-d made different animals for different reasons. Some animals were made to be cute; this ain’t one of ’em. Whatever their purpose on this green earth is, being cute is not part of it.

    on Shabbos? a lot. the money poses a problem, ask your LOR. my rav said kids over bar/bas mitzvah should definitely not play it on shabbos

    I think there shouldn’t be one accepted timeline for marriage, (ie: 4 yrs. beis medrash, a year in e”y,, 6 months in the “freezer”, and then off to shidduchim). preparing a bachur for marriage is not like baking a cake, there’s no one correct recipe to follow. I know some boys who are ready for marriage at 18, but put it off till 23 or 24 because its not socially acceptable. on the other hand, I know others who shouldn’t get married till 30, they aren’t mature enough to lead a household at 25.

    But practically speaking, what are we going to do about it. are any of you really willing to make your sons guinea pigs, and try to start a new trend? I’m sure not taking that risk.

    Trump is a nut-job who disrespects everything except his own over-inflated ego. the only good he does is call certain issues for what they are, and not hide behind political double-talk. people like him because he is a breath of fresh air in the stale field that is politics. however, when it comes down to election time, there is absolutely no way in the world he will win. If he does, Americans are way stupider than I thought. We need a leader who will stand strong while still having the tact not to offend everybody unnecessarily. His latest attention-grabbing move of revealing Graham’s phone number is a pathetic, childish act of revenge. He is unfit, in every sense of the word, to serve as president.
