Veltz Meshugener- “I am amused by the fact that when someone like Michael Jackson or Steve Jobs dies, everyone is much too sensitive to talk about their shortcomings, but when Margaret Thatcher dies, she’s fair game.”
+2
Steve Jobs and Michael Jackson purveyed obscenity.
Margaret Thatcher purveyed morality.
playtimeMemberrebdoniel- Well said. (Just I think it goes, will be ‘sorely’ missed)
147- Wow, I did not know that. Indeed a woman with gravitas.
playtimeMemberStaples has the ‘easy button’. You keep it in the office, and you push it and it says, “That was easy.”
This is the same idea.
So whenever you feel you want to post, but don’t know what to post, you just post “Bump,” and your post will bump the bump thread to the beginning.
Like a stress reliever.
playtimeMemberI think she was a righteous women.
playtimeMemberyeah, i also dance when i read/!?
playtimeMembersorry. It’s about a man that doesn’t realize that his life is a TV show. There are cameras hidden everywhere (“the biggest set ever”), and his wife and friends are all really actors.
playtimeMemberWhen you visibly fold your legs at a meeting, to give you some confidence. Then u realize you’re wearing horribly mismatched socks.

playtimeMemberWow. Thanks for that.
playtimeMemberSam- When is the book coming out?
“No fair”- who knows, maybe this thread could help him?:)
If you know any, shoot.
playtimeMember“there are none so blind as those who will not see”
John Heywood, 1546.
He was paraphrasing Yirmiyahu
????? ??? ??? ????
“(Jesus said that)”
almost true
It was said about the likes of Jesus
playtimeMemberIn this thread, we will explore the Jewish sources of various Fairy Tales and concepts.
playtimeMemberWIY- FYI as an aside, Hitchens is dead.
The new runner up Athiest would probably be Richard Dawkins. The former UK Chief Rabbi Lord (chol) Jonothan Sacks debated him last year. Check it out.
playtimeMemberSam & Dasyochid, I think you should start a chavrusah Shaf together.
playtimeMemberSo anyhow, I was walking down the street in Jerusalem in a Sefardi Israeli neighborhood, and I hear music.
I thought it was Martina Mcbride or Katy Perry, which is extremely odd to hear in that neighborhood.
So I listened carefully for a few seconds, and it turned out to be Meydad Tasa.
So I was thinking, if a boy sounds like a women, is it Assur?
playtimeMemberSecularFrummy-
It goes like this.
The generation of Moshe experienced the greatest miracles, like splitting of the red sea.
But scientists today have an explanation even for that. They say it is possible that every 2448 years an extremely forceful gale occurs at an angle to split the sea.
Moses Mendelssohn the Ugly wanted to say that Moshe Rabbeinu used his staff to dissolve the water of the Red Sea.
(His staff was made from sulfur which separates hydrogen and oxygen in h2o)
Miracles like Elijah at Mt. Carmel occurred when the there was an evil inclination for idolatry.
We do not have that evil in us anymore.
iluvbeingjewish- “we hardly have any bechira at all if you think about it.who well marry is annonced 40 days b4 were born…”
Ah, the age old question.
The answer is that your question is flawed. You are asking about the prediction of G-d vs. choice of Man, as if they are two sides to the same coin. But they are not.
Man’s ‘present’ is not only G-d’s ‘present’, it is also G-d’s future and past too.
You cannot attribute the G-dly quality of omnipresence to man.
playtimeMemberwritersoul- the truman show
playtimeMember“To give doubt of his existence”
playtimeMemberyekke2- Not to learn ??? ????? is not a recent admonishment. Even the mizrachi, and the far lefters don’t read it.
brony- read yitayningwut’s first post on this thread. All he is saying that there is a ’cause’
playtimeMemberGolem- Instead of sending me on a 5-step-instruction exploratory tour, just ANSWER MY QUESTION, YOU GOLEM!
also, according to my analysis,
#5 answers #1
also,
‘Hear’- To perceive with the ear.
‘Hair’- threadlike strands growing from the skin.
‘Hare’- A rabbitlike mammal
‘Here’- In, at, or to this place or position.
just for public reference;)

playtimeMemberOld man, control in your hand
Slam your fist on the table
And make your demand
Take a stand
Fan a fire for the flame of age
Got the freedom to choose
You better make the right move
Old man, the power’s in your hand
Slam your fist on the table and make your demand
You better make the right move
(wantin to say that for awhile. (apologies to mattisyahu) May you find a better way)
playtimeMembersw33t- please tell us that you said it today (w/o a bracha, i think), so that you can continue tonight.
playtimeMemberallSTARyeshivish- “so what do you say they make bumpers for?”
yitayningwut- “They’re called BUMPers”
Are yall saying that if you scratch a car, or fender, you don’t have to pay, as long as it is the bumper?
playtimeMemberWow that is so amazing! That must be a awakening for me, a sign from G-d that there are implications in ???? ????? of Israel Independence Day. I will begin to observe and honor that day with barbeques, just as i observe the other holidays.
I will stand up to the most learned rabbis, and let my position be known.
oh a sign from g-d, it is a sign from g-d
Maybe I will start a new religion,- ’tis a sign from g-d.

playtimeMemberfrumnotyeshivish, yitayningwut- thank you.
I remember something from Rabbi Avigdor Miller that the fact that nature has a plan and purpose shows that it was created by G-d.
The counter argument of the Atheist is, “If nature was created by G-d, then what created G-d?”
So Rabbi Miller said that is a trap.
To avoid the trap, you should say that plan and purpose of nature shows that it had to have been created by intelligence.
If you want to say that Greater Intelligence created intelligence etc, you can.
Hence infinite intelligence; hence G-d.
playtimeMemberFor someone like myself, who isn’t adequately knowledgeable in science and probability, I need a simple, logical, clear, and concise argument for the existence of G-d.
playtimeMemberI think you may want to look into Yesodei Hatorah in Queens or Yesodei Yisrael in Monsey. They are Yeshiva high school affiliates of Touro College.

playtimeMemberultimate- it’s Amu”sh for a woman
(not to be off topic)
playtimeMemberYou are all crazy! You’re not even supposed to TOUCH the other guys car. People become way too comfortable when they parallel park. I’ve seen people push a guys car back a couple of inches! These are not bumper cars.
(sorry for the name calling- I just wanted to be sensational)
yaakov- lol
playtimeMemberyou mean post-Maharal era
playtimeMemberprofound
playtimeMemberWhat type of position are you looking for? 😉
playtimeMemberSam2- DY’s right. It’s not Yesh Me’ayin. Its made from delineating a form of man in the dirt.
Is this a Rambam in Yad you’re talking about, or in Moreh Nevuchim?
playtimeMemberSam, what is the opinion of the Rambam?
playtimeMemberHow about we have this thread, called “Rate the Posters”, where anyone can write who and why they think is radical or untrustworthy. It will be like a reference thread.
If one person out of many (not oneofmany) is untrustworthy, then stars work. but when the actual system is full of bad raters, there is no point in rating.
playtimeMemberwow thanx
playtimeMemberSaysme- how would you know?
Torah- It was much less offensive than many posts I have seen here before.
playtimeMembernitpicker- “and also to attribute that quote about believing stories to the Steipler is laughable…”
It is attributed to him- don’t know if there are other sources before, but let me find the main topic for you-
The same Steipler Goan, in his Sefer Hayei Olam writes, “It is known that the Maharal produced a Golem”
(and I know you wish your argument wasn’t blatantly incorrect;)
playtimeMemberDid anyone ever get kicked off the CR for being overly annoying?
playtimeMembernitpicker- There are skeptics to every claim, and that’s perfectly fine. But to take the opposite position on every claim, purporting that the evidence is on YOUR side, is blatantly incorrect.
There is a famous adage from the Steipler Goan, who said, “If you believe every tale you hear you are a heretic, and if you believe that every tale couldn’t have occurred, you are a heretic as well.
The same Steipler Goan, in his Sefer Hayei Olam writes, “It is known that the Maharal produced a Golem”
The Steipler was known to have Ruach Hakodesh.
This is not to say that every tale of the Golem is true. But that the Maharal did create a Golem.
old man, and nitpicker- your stances on many issues are completely unsupported, and your backward reasoning is very revealing of argumentative people who are brutally unlearned.
zahavasdad- “Many of the Medrashim cannot possibly be true. Many are contradictory”
-The first subscription of a true torah learner is that there are smarter and greater men out there, giants of torah, who can reconcile contradictions that thou cannot.
“Many were written in a code so that outsiders could not understand many were also subject to censors as well”
Before we effectively denounce all Jewish writings as possibly altered, and in-understandable, we must concede to the Torah Giants who are able to read and interpret the Amoraic writings effectively. The Vilna Gaon, Rashash, and others were able to discern the true text from altered writings and misprints, solely through their torah wisdom.
playtimeMemberRT- Wow. I never thought about that.
