immigrants actually commit fewer crimes than those born here. Most of them work, and have payroll taxes deducted from their pay, so they actually contribute.

Most of those illegals who have payroll taxes deducted from thier salary are using fake or someone elses id. You know it and so dors everyone else.

What you could do to make your phone work abroad is as follows. Rent or borrow a mifi or similar product. Activate it to the country your going to use it in . Download from the app store a google # or similar onto your locked smartphone . switch your phone to wifi only . Pair your phone to the mifi unit and your good to go. You can also use your tablet off this mifi. It works flawlessly as long as your mifi is having a good signal.

The imported rib steaks and flankin coming in from mexico etc are boneless. They are absolutely horrible tasting.

Rib steaks are $11.69 per lb. in NPGS.
    ——————————-
Im pretty sure that those are imported from mexico or uraguay. They are cheap because the taste is cheap.

Flanken ends are less than $4.
    ————————-why would u comment
    On flanken ends.
Might as well comment on chicken. And fish tails which can be gotten for free.

I didn’t see regular flanken or “hard cheese” on NPGS’ site

Look at most flyers(available on line) in lakewood and you will see that cream cheese, hard cheese, flanken,, rib steaks are almost never on sale and they are outrageously priced for mostly one reason.
Food stamp recipients are thier biggest customers. Why do u think the big wigs in lakewood who also own grocery stores in lakewood managed to make sure that moshe binik from krm in Brooklyn never came to lakewood. They were simply afraid of his buying power and cheap prices. This os a fact.

When was the last time you bought a whole fish? Cut it out.

The store still as overhead. This isn’t complicated.
    ——————————-
Shoprite has plenty overhead, yet they manage to have the price of salmon and white etc.as low as the non kosher fish section wgich also carry salmon and white fish etc. Both whole and sliced.

My kids in lakewood pay almost 5 dollars for cream cheese not on sale.

Your kids must be rich. It’s easy enough to get a less expensive brand for $3 or even $2.
    ————————
Apparently the only time cream cheese is on sale is around shvous time.givat brand, which is the cheapest brand is westgate is 4
    . Jj is 5.

$18 for rib steak. Flanken with bone in 17.49.
Hardly goes on sale in Westgate.

Where I shop in Brooklyn (krm, Moshe’s, bingo), kosher cream cheese is less than $3 and flknin is approximately $12 a pound

    Everyday

On sale, cream cheese is less than $2 and the meat goes down to about $8.99

Kosher fish stores need kosher certification and are usually situated in high-rent neighborhoods.
My kids in lakewood pay almost 5 dollars for cream cheese not on sale.

Why is salmon and white fish more expensive in a kosher store then in a non kosher store.

“Ten children” is thanks to Hashem’s first commandment, something we should be proud of and all aspire to. Yet look up the definition of “brood” which precedes it in that sentence, and it seems the children hatch like chickens. Maybe in Mitzrayim, but now we struggle with child bearing and raising our kids, we do it consciously and with self sacrifice and at the very least it shouldn’t be denigrated.

Its also important to come on time to davening ,yet no one seems to as disturbed by one not wearing a hat.
Also no one seems to be disturbed by married people who wear a talis who dont have thier head covered through out davening. If one must wear a hat then those wearing a talis should either wear a hat or cover thier head with thier tallis ,but no one says anything about it. Total hypocrisy.

Most if not all immigrant communities that have a strong identifiable cultural identity stick together in what can be seen as “insular” communities. It’s not exclusive to Jewish communities. It’s human nature

What would you call a jew opressing a goy or non religious jew? There must be a term i would think. Or is it a one way street and open season for yiddin to opress others because you cant call them anti semites?

I PERSONALLY KNOW OF A MASSE THAT SOMEONE HAD THE AUDACITY TO CHECK THEIR E-MAIL DURING KEDUSHA……..
    ———————————-
Firstly, why arent you dan lekav zechus that mmaybe just maybe he was an emergency email he was expecting. 2ndly , if it was during kedusha why would u or anyone else be looking anywhere else but in thier own siddur?
So obviouly if you knew he was looking at email means you were in essence looking at his phone during that same kedusha. Look in your own back yard before you look at others.

The first printing press was a major breakthrough in technology.
Think before u press the send button.
Horse and buggy was considered a technology at one time. What isnt technology?
Do u know that when the phones and cars were first invented, the rabbanim of time had a big huge problem on hand because they were convinced that many would use the them for various transgressions?
Do u also want to ban landlines and cars?

T22T: It seems that even you agree one doesn’t have to state the exact due date. As I stated above (#1526704) we told our parents around a certain time period, not an exact date. If you tell your friends the expected date and don’t tell your parents then I can see that as a zilzul of your parents kavod.
    ——————————————
    My question is 2 fold.
One what is the minhag based on ,assuming there is even a minhag.2)
Even if yoi wont give an exact date, why cant you give an approximation. +/- 2 weeks. I know people who over all very logical/mentchlich people ,but when it comes to telling parents/ inlaws they act as if its non of your business to ask or know. Not only that, the parents find out about the pregnancy when everyone else does.
Ill share a story i heard 1st hand from a mother.
    Mother:
We want to go on vacation to israel but we dont want it to interfere with your wife giving birth, can you tell us around when she is due?
    Son:
Tell me when you plan on going and i let u k ow if it interferes.

Most people are not off by a month so whats the big deal by telling parents or inlaws that your due in said month or end of… Or Beginning…..
Ive asked many people outside of coffee room ,yet none seems to have a backing for a supposed minhag.

Good point tango, Chazal made many gezeiras in all the points you mention, just like they do here with smart phones. Glad to see you support the smartphone ban
    ————————————
The original question still remains even with all the bans in place
How can one trust ones self.
    For example:
Your out in idaho on a business trip and you have no kosher food, how can you trust yourself from not walking into wendys?
Or your in bed and your very tired, how can you trust yourself not to miss zman krias shma?
What kinda bans according to u are out there? So my question still isnt answered . Why are we only concerned about yrusting ourselves with intetnet?
Do we trust ourselves with loshon hora??

    Takes2-2tango

    Why stop at smartphones?
How can you trust yourself to not be mechallel shabbos, eat traif, hilchos nidda,
Hilchos yichud. Getting up to daven before zman krias shma, eating on Yom kipper The list is endless!
