Interesting how it’s worth being insulting just to get an edited version of an anonymous coffeeroom post. Are all your other people skills like that? (Rhetorical question as I’ve been here quite a while)

“who won’t believe it no matter what evidence they are presented with”

GH – I think you are totally missing the point(s) even tho it has been stated so very many times. Nobody gives a hoot. The reason people are fuming at all this is because of the disgusting hypocrisy of the democrats and the unbelievable cultlike stupidity displayed by otherwise intelligent people who believe evrything they hear, completely disregard the inappropriate/illegal/unprecedented way things are carried out/presented over the last few years.

When it comes to people not believing the facts (FACTS), you and yours are first and foremost. I mean not only do you guys disregard absolute criminal behavior and evidence, your media doesn’t even bother reporting it and nobody complains.
I mean I don’t know if you can even hear what I am saying right now because it has already been said often and it disappears into the wind.
It isn’t about trump – it’s about the dems hypocrisy and an unrelenting fear of being at the mercy of these so called government officials. Look what they have done to our lives and our country and all they can worry about is interfering with the upcoming election. We are trapped under their rule, our lives are not manageable and we are at their mercy. If not for knowing that Hashem is running the world people would be killing themselves.

I don’t know what your thoughts behind your comment are, but generally speaking when I hear people say that I find it both offensive and ridiculous.
Someone blessed with “too” many kids doesn’t suddenly become stupid or irresponsible. There are people with poor judgment and people with good judgment, and how many kids you have is irrelevant. Why people have such a scathing dislike for people having “too many kids” is both beyond me, and anti Torah.

“Are you advocating for kids being sent to public or open-modern schools with no supervision?”
Please indicate where I imply this. Your quote above it was your excuse for removing your kids, not my assessment of the situation.

“Ok, I guess I can wait until he grows into his 20s, and then, I can talk with him as an adult and train him into better thinking.”

If your kid has one teacher in 5th grade with good middos but intolerance and that is how she has chosen 20 years later to fashion herself after than you have some serious parenting issues here. I believe that is what they call a strawman argument.

“Saying that my opinions are wrong because they are based on my experiences does not add much to the discussion.”
I didn’t say that your opinions are wrong because they are based on your experiences. I said you are wrong in generalizing it, as you often do, to the school system. And I said I believe it is wrong to yank your kid because they are getting too frum for your comfort. Which flows nicely into my response to your next post – you are tasting this wonderful way to be committed to Noone and nothing but your own comfortable cherry picked customs and halachos. Call it cultists and group think to make it work for you but we call it a tzibur.

AAQ- we all understand how painful that personal experience you had with your child (I think you said daughter?) was for you and how you have not only been unable to move forward, but have decided to apply it to all the school system. On the other hand I am sorry for your daughter who was not allowed to grow because of your bias against the “movement” she was becoming a “carbon copy of”, to the point that you pulled them out and are afraid of them learning too much from the wrong people.
To be a “responsible” parent (as you like to call the ones who step out of their box to get educated), it sometimes takes swallowing your biases and letting your kids grow.

truth2power – I have no interest in the gun control fight and I don’t know or care enough about the politics. I think you are needing enlightenment on a seperate issue which is something I work with and fight for.
Number one – more of an aside – my brother lives in a place where everyone carrys. He said there is much less crime because everyone knows the risk of putting your hands on someone elses stuff. He said you can leave your truck full of expensive equipment unlocked because nobody is stupid enough to risk their lives to touch it.

What I wanted to bring up is your misunderstanding of what people mean when they say mental illness. You are going on about how it can’t be mental illness because other countries also have mental illness etc.
That isn’t what we are yelling about. We are talking about the lack of structure, support, treatment and guidance for those with mental illness. If a person has a stroke in a random hospital, his outcome will be different than having a stroke in a hospital that is a primary stroke center. If someone has mental illness and is not identified, treated, appropriately cared for and supported, watched/monitored etc then bad things can happen. To them, their families or community.
We even had some ignorant comment on here about how you can’t tell the difference between someone who is suffering from serious mental illness vs someone who is having a bad day. If that is the level of ignorance around those suffering, I can’t be surprised that they just get worse.

Jackk- I was pretty clear with my post. I said that your scenarios about worshipping Trump are fantasies perpetuated by Trump haters who imagine supporters do that. But they don’t. Just as smerel expressed after me, it’s never happened in real life, it’s something made up and swallowed.

“but still has tens of thousands of adoring supporters, you can refer back to my words .”

Nobody mentioned Trump supporters. You and the op conjured a make believe scenario about Trump worshipping. I told you it didn’t exist. You are frustrated about a situation that only exists in the minds of CNN users and their groupies. It’s a big lie.

Jackk- thank you for coming. My point was that there used to be back and forth screaming about Trump but the only ones I ever hear mentioning his name anymore are the people who hate him. 99% of the people around me were Trump supporters, hate Biden and hope someone will step in to set things right again. But nobody talks about Trump. Outside of you guys and threads like these he is not a topic of conversation.

And as I have said, you seem like a sane, balanced and honest person who doesn’t seem like a troll type, but everything you wrote above exists only in the minds of you guys. It’s a false reality created and perpetuated by people who enjoy believing it but never actually witnessed it in real life. Almost like a big lie, if you will 😄

You are mixing apples and oranges. Suffering consequences for a bad decision is a different issue than watching a string of events unfold separate from choices you made.
You didn’t notice a problem, you made one up. All along the lines of needing to put people in their place when they credit hashem for his gifts. Anyone who can claim a degree is the ultimate hishtadlus because a burnt out doctor can always do x-rays is grasping tightly at straws.

    Another troll post.
Oh sure, a burnt out doctor can just xray. No issue that it’s a different field and only 40k a year. I mean, they’re both in the same building so it would work. Surely it wouldn’t be as awful as burning out from Kollel.
And hey, the burnt out marketing guy can for sure get a cashier job somewhere. That’s a super market not a regular market but it’s kinda the same, no? Cuz at least he is paying his own way, not like those shady kollel syphoners.

er -I stopped reading this thread when n0m hacked it up with definitions (no offense) and only clicked on your post thinking you were bringing something new.
    This:
“the reason why there are only 2 republicans is because republican senator Kennedy decided the republicans would not to cooperate with the committee. The initial proposal before the committee came into existence was a full-on bi-partisan congressional investigation, which was also rejected by republicans. ”
Is not accurate. Either you don’t understand what happened, or you got your info from Joy Behar but it’s distorted.
Decades back i thought news stories were true. Then I read a write up about something that happened in my family and saw it was a mess. It took me months to realize that if that was wrong/altered, e eruthing else probably was too. It would serve you well to revisit. Unless this version works for you, in which case carry on.

AAQ- you’ve memorized the lines but have joined concept of the meaning. Danger has criteria. You seem to think forgetting to brush your teeth qualifies . If you tell your daughter not to call you at work unless it is extremely urgent and she calls you because she can’t find her socks is that urgent? You seem to use that level of personal interpretation to explain what “Hashem was probably thinking” (as if).

” You insert them into nearly every conversation in the hope of accomplishing nothing other than to get everyone else upset.”

definitely not applicable. He speaks his mind, unfiltered, and couldn’t really care less what you think. And I would guess that you knew that and wrote it to be provocative, which would qualify your last post as a troll post. Be it your first or otherwise.

Another question, though your satire involves not actually understanding, nor addressing nor answering them…
Why is it more fun to be satirical here versus on discus with your peers? It implies some level of mockery, as in being satirical and hoping to catch some ignorant people off guard. You say that that is not your goal, and I obviously have no reason to doubt your sincerity or honesty, so why the draw?

Absolutely without question. I do that before I post, not when people try to shtoch me with it. To the extent that I am in a very difficult position in my life because of it. So basically you are confirming exactly what I wrote. You like his science, you haven’t bothered to look into anything, he’s not in cherem and he got a hesped. Exactly what I said above.

If a car gets lousy mileage and people complain about the legroom do you decide that it must be a good car because it wasn’t recalled?

Not everything qualifies for cherem. That doesn’t mean its okay. And if reb moshe felt his son in law was aligned with him nobody would be daring to say otherwise. That speaks for itself too. Don’t decide people are legit based on how badly you would like them to be. As I said, thats blinders too, just in the other direction.
