If only some of the legitimate trump supporters who attended could give over what really went on, ive gotten 2 first hand accounts now, you would really be worked up. And anyone with a soul on any side of the isle should worry about what the canceling and censure the negative energy is giving birth to.

I just want to seperate the officers death from the others. Tho I did find it odd that they did not mention the serious injury of the police officer who died a horrible and inexcusable death. Since the details of the cause did come out in the end, i can only speculate why the attack itself was not publicized earlier or more thoroughly. Having said that, I hope they find whoever did it and show no mercy, but the coverage of the missing lectern seems to be more of a priority right now if the amount of coverage is an indicator.

I contemplated mentioning what I found but I have learned that even if I said one of them choked on his grapefruit on the way to the airport it would be argued that that is legitimately a death caused by the riot so I’ll leave it to you to search, and search very well, and see what you find.

I find it odd that intelligent frum people can persist in saying thete were 5 deaths as a result of the riot. I believed it too until I looked into it in over 8 different sources (none being conservative). Sadly, Ithis will be bulldozed because it’s become “swallow the whole pill or admit you support the riot” , just as it has bern “support leftism otherwise you love trump and everything he does”. Thise are both false. They always have been. And i keep wondering how much time has to pass before the fog lifts and we can start having dialogue again.

Goldilocks- what kind of crafts (if you don’t mind saying)? Did you ever do lanyard? I learned all the stitches and loved making things but never really found a use for the finished items. As an adult I try to make things that are somewhat functional.

I’m almost healous of your deer problem. Here the veggies get eaten by squirrels, possum and racoons. Everything else goes to the rats. Blah

Im pretty sure my brother bought the game on ebay but he wouldn’t have paid more than 30. It was years ago, the pandemic has really upped the prices. Puzzles were either sold out or way over priced.

I saw pandemic but didn’t know what it was. It sounds fun. Especially now, thanks for the suggestion.

Rummikub! Another winner. I will have to look into Smallworld Underground, I’ve never heard of it. My brother used to play Dungeons and Dragons with friends every shabbos afternoon, but that was 35 years ago and I don’t know if there was a board involved or just dice.

I love jigsaw puzzles! I am picky about the pictures but to me it’s like a comfort food, there was always a puzzle on the coffee table. In my present life there is no ‘safe’ space for puzzling but we did do quite a few during lockdown.

In your “source” i call him the most self serving

“Still think Trump’s rhetoric does not matter?”

Not sure what you are sourcing. My posts talk about our support fo trumps accomplishments but not his behavior.

I knew there was nothing there because i know what i didn’t say but i felt you made an effort to find the posts so i respectfully checked. Thanks for working it out in my favor. And again, good night.

GH- I’m always torn with those questions between choosing a close friend i haven’t seen in years, or someone known who I would love to speak with!
As I just lost a very special family friend to covid last weak, I am inclined to choose the former. My mother’s older sister is frail and living in San Diego. How i would love to spend a dinner with her!!

How about you? And thank you, too for the question.

Yserbius- when i read non jewish books my favorite authors were robin cook and agatha christie. I love reading mysteries, murder mysteries, medical drama (but only realistic ones) and the like. Yair Weinstock has written some phenomenal ones, but there are many others as well. I can’t lie tho, i immensely enjoyed the Bakers Dozen series as well!
I did proofread harry potter and was totalky taken by it, and i proofread (preread?) The 39 Clues series which was fun.

    Hi!!!!!
when i have the time i love making things for my kids/friends from sculpy (polymer clay) or felt. I had to stop for a decade or two whole my kids were young but picked it up again during lock down.
When not on the CR, outside of regular household stuff, i am a bit of a book addict.

How ’bout you? And did you find lockdown gave you a chance to find things you can enjoy on your own?

Anon- yup. Although I have no sympathy about the back taxes issue. If you do something illegal you can’t complain about getting caught.

Common – right! (Is this the first time I’ve agreed with ou?) I have watched non jewish nannies make sure their young charges make a bracha as well. As the child sat in the stroller looking at their tight jeans and almost-a-shirt, listening to conversations they had on the phone that may not be inappropriate but definitely aren’t uplifting. It’s not just about doing the mitzvos, it’s the whole package.

I still remember my son telling me his first grade teacher, who they knew was single, apologized for being grouchy, “sorry, i think im pregnant and don’t ferl so good”

I am not making any assumptions, i am talking about a value system. You are sure i am from lakewood but I’m not. Where i live there are some frum baby sitters watch kids in their own homes with a bunch of other kids. Other people have a non jewish cleaning lady who babysits in their house. Or baby sitter who cleans. A lot of the moms make only a few dollars more than the cost of the sitter.
I think you have a valid theory, but when you have kids you will see that it’s not about what works on paper.

GH – i absolutely understand that and don’t indicate otherwise. But too bad that you still don’t understand the extent a person should be going to preserve the spirituality of their house and kids. you seem to see it as disposable in time of great inconvenience. I don’t. As i said before, people draw their lines in the sand. Some will give all their money for more time, some will give all their time for more money. It’s about what drives you. But when we talk about the neshamas of our children, there is no flexibility.

What problem could you possibly have with that statement? I don’t care if the person has the highest degrees in pediatric meficine, I still wouldn’t want her in charge of my kid daily. A kid needs to have torah and hashkofos modeled. Why in the world would you think that’s a problem?

Shmili – take a chill. Nobody said they are bad people. Some of you cannot handle hearing that sometimes a frum person fits the job better without freaking out in a liberal melt down.

We had a photographer at our kid’s wedding that was not familiar with frum life. Ya know what? She missed a lot of the wedding. It was a dumb choice. And I’m not talking about the photography, im talking about familiarity with the customs. Sometimes a job requires a person familiar with frumkeit, and sometimes a job requires a frum person. And guess what? That’s not a racist comment.

Personally, having witnessed many intwractions of sitters/nannies whatever with kids, i wouldn’t do it, and i don’t understand how someone else can.

But regarding the actual topic, I do think cameras is a must, and cpr, first aid, references and fluency in the child’s language.

However, i disagree that lower pay gets you lower quality when it may be a skill that the worker enjoys but the mother doesn’t. A cleaning lady may make a third of what i make, but will definitely do a better job than me, even if she’s only mediocre.

People choose where they draw their lines. Some stop at having a sitter, some stop at a non jewish sitter. Why anyone would hand over their child to a non jewish or non observant sitter is beyond me. But it depends on each person’s line in the sand.
