The best part about knowing who popa is is knowing I dont have to worry about my daughter being fixed up with any of his relatives.

Today is my sisters yahrtziet. She died six weeks before her h.s. graduation. At the time I thought I too would drop dead from the intense pain of losing my closest friend. I was able to live on, and take her with me. My oldest child carries her name. My sister knew I loved her. As did my other sister who died last fall. This was not always easy to do but I refused to risk it. Please tell your sister you love her. Tell her you love her even if you dont like her. She may or may not answer appropriately but you will have done the right thing

It was a R Tatz exercise I did years ago. Searching your inner self to find your bottom line. For some everything they do is motivated by the desire to fill a certain need. Mine was to avoid pain, my own or others.

Your patronus is supposed to be your essence, not your favorite creature. What was the thing called that represented your innermost fear? (lupins was an orb)

I was just gonna say the same thing. Anyone who knows who you are or where you work is getting way too much info. Im very uncomfortable with it and not sure what Health is trying to gain from it but real help should come from real life people and much of this info shouldnt be out here in this much detail. When I worked acute care they were very clear about that stuff and I would hate for you to suffer from an innocent mistake.

Yes, I was joking and that was what I meant. But the beating up is pretty bad here when people disagree. I think the anonimity stops people from beating each other up when they DONT disagree.

LoyalJew- no interest in organizing anyone. I am just wondering if the people who dont have the money to give will be willing to do something about it. And your comment about the money being for Torah is not even close to the truth

Bpt-+1 I told my daughter that we will be asking shadchanim only to suggest boys who are willing to live without financial support. Will all those grumbling parents step up to the plate? Will anyone help us fix the system? She worried it will leave her stranded. I say the faint of heart need not apply.

I answered you. The internet. And as I said before, if you dont see that yourself its only cuz you may not have all the facts. And its not necessary to be so curt just because I offered an opposing view.

Zahavasdad: I think you yourself know it is a poor comparison and far from true. And seperately, if you dont feel the way I do (and Im NOT a bandwagon jumper) it is solely because you dont know what I know, so count your blessings in a big way. (if youll excuse me, my cow and I have another soapbox to attend to)

Ezrat Hashem – That really cracked me up. How many times did the R”Y give an answer before they said, “So L’Maaseh what is the Rosh Yeshiva saying . . .”? And then the R”Y said,” Its sad, maybe they shouldn’t get married” Loved it!

ICOT – It’s interesting that you say that about having an easier time modulating responses her. I find it easier in real life. Here, when people make cutting, degrading or hurtful remarks they don’t disappear, so I feel more compelled to (obsessed with) leave a rebuttal for the sake of future readers. Usually nobody cared enough and I should have just not bothered, but I have that “you never know” feeling. In real life I could 1)judge by faces if the words left bad impressions that need correcting, 2)not worry about future readers since they are not in writing, 3)avoid situations warranting those responses. But I do edit often. And I will use this random moment of introspection which you inspired to be more thoughtful myself.

On a more random note: Did you know coffee that’s been left out in the teachers lounge over the weekend still tastes good?
