I remember learning in 12th grade (we had a class and teacher for Tehillim, best class ever!) that Dovid, as the king, encompasses all of klal yisroel. Therefore, everyone relates to Tehillim regardless of what s/he is going through at that point as it was written through David. There is also an interesting medrash about David’s eyes were all different colors…can’t remember it or how it fit in to this though…anyone know what I’m talking about?

One thing to say about this topic though: If your communication skills in real life match the ones I see here, I must say you seem to have an easy time expressing yourself and you shouldn’t have an issue adapting to society.

First of all, do it slow. It’s hard to give it up, been there done that. I found that before turning something on I would ask myself why am I watching this? If the answer was cuz I was bored I would turn of my computer (no physical TV in my house…) and do something more constructive. After I found myself only watching cuz I wanted to, and I actually had better things to do with my life I limited myself to only watch things I’ve watched previously. No new shows!!! And once I set myself to that, things just became easier and easier. One things I keep in mind now is something I heard from R’ Wallerstien. He says that if you struggle with something and don’t even try to work on it, in the not so distant future YOUR kids will wonder why THEY have such a hard time overcoming that particular nisayon. I remind myself all the time, do I want to be that selfish or do I want my kids to have an easier time than I did? Thinking back, since I’ve heard this speech I haven’t watched anything questionable since, and that was in August.

Whatever you do, good luck!!! It’s a long road but it makes such a difference in your quality of life.

I like hearing other’s views on various things, so I post mine in case there is someone interested in hearing my ideas. I couldn’t care less if no one takes me seriously, that’s not why I post. I’m not here to change the world, and I don’t think anyone else is either.

Meteorologists were sooo cool – they were totally neviim. And they got to play with those big white weather balloons… I used to dream of becoming a meteorologist. Oh well, maybe in my next life.

And how exactly do I cook that?! I don’t know the first thing about cooking and I don’t have time or patience to learn or experiment. But it’s the least of my problems so I’m not worrying about it.

So I officially left this thread as this topic really hurts me, but one thing I want to stress that LeebaW pointed out is:

I couldn’t agree with this statement more! While I acted out just a bit, and it was a while ago and I still get asked stupid senseless questions, and people have a hard time in general with deciding on how to talk to me. While many people welcomed me home with open arms, some are just too cautious. Isn’t the fact that I returned proof enough that I got over my doubts?? And isn’t there an idea that goes something like you’re not supposed to remind a baal/baalas tshuva of his/her past???? So why do I have to go through all this? now???? Sometimes, people are almost horrible enough to turn me off again 🙁

If my post if between 9-5 it’s cuz I’m bored at work. If it’s after hours or on weekends it’s cuz I’m bored and I have something to say.

Not sad, just unfortunate. But at least we know you’re here and not somewhere else… we could kind of keep tabs on you so we’ll know when something’s wrong 😉 It’s sorta like when my friends know which nights I’m out on a date cuz I don’t respond to their texts all night…

OK, I know you guys run differently, but how different could that be already?!?! We are told don’t do this cuz men think that, and don’t wear this cuz it makes men think about this… If you would hear what we women are told about you, you would probably be ashamed.

Hey! Venus isn’t too far. And I love how men always take something that could have potentially been an insult and change it around completely. It has always impressed me.

@PBA – I know that men and women are wired differently, but to what extent? I’ve heard people say really odd things of why we shouldn’t dress in specific ways cuz of men’s thoughts, and things just don’t add up! Are men from a totally different species??

You got a ride in one of those? So cool! Maybe you should try to get a ride in the back seat of a white car with blue and red and white lights. I think they go a bit faster.

I have a really good one that happened to me but it will totally blow my identity as I’ve said it over on my 12th grade shabbaton. If I knew for a fact that none of my grade mates are here, I would gladly post it…Oh well!

Mac and cheese? Eeeeewwwwww! I usually don’t get revolted by smells of food I don’t eat. But some I can’t handle, say green olives. However, I rarely get nauseous from seeing food. Thank God!!!! And I forgot to mention a biggie, I do eat homemade baked goods. So don’t think I’m a tiny underweight nothing, I’m actually very average.

@WIY – “I probably care about her more than you do.” I believe you. Keep doing what you’re doing.

@saysme – I don’t think I hear TAOM complain about WIY’s posts. On the contrary she seems to be grateful for his responses.
