This one really works on my brother..If he is not out of bed by lets say 7:30 he knows he will get a cold cup of water on his head..At 7:29 he starts moving! 🙂

SO make s/o in charge of that delightful task..and tell them to actually carry out that threat if you arent moving..Maybe once you will actually need the cold water on your head…but a shock of cold water will really awaken you and make you jump! from then on you have learnt your lesson…you dont want to start your day wet and soggy and that will be your incentive to GET MOVING!!

(another tip just go to bed earlier)

So are you talking about the quivery, garlicy, jelly like substance that jiggels on the plate that is found on the shabbos table? 🙂

it tastes good plain or eat it with some cracker, tam tams, challah..( i personally dont eat it but from what i see others eating it with) most people just eat it plain.

Totally gained a lot! starting from learning how to get along with your roommates- to learning how not to get stuck on a park bench for shabbos (yup it kinda happened to me)all in all i had an amazing experience! i hope i dont sound like a typical seminary girl but if you use your time well and not go to the malls, sams bagels, froyo and all the sem “hang outs” but appreciating that you have a year to really grow and try..then you will see it really is a great experience…night time visits to the kosel, going to kevarim.. and having a blast on all the amazing trips and all the crazy experiences “chavayot” and when you come home you will see you are a different person hopefully for the better 🙂

I think all you guys need to chill… too much sports talk just calm it and dont let it run your life! You can enjoy a good game but you could learn how to move on in life too.

“is praying for the Jets to win, acceptable?” by sayin this sentence it shows whats important to you in life.. i personally would pray for things such as health, family…and ect..but if thats what you feel is important in life so go ahead and daven for them.

Its not that i dont enjoy a good game, its just that im not obsessed with it! there is a fine line.. i hope im not coming out too strong and knocking anyone but thats my humble feelings on this matter.

in reply to: Designer Clothing – Waste of $$? #727040

Yes designer clothes are a total waste of money. Paying 400 bucks for a suit is a crime (if you can afford it then thats another story) but for the typical yeshiva bochur or girl cannot afford it and just because everyone is wearing it…they have the pressure to fit in.If you want designer clothes, fancy name brands learn how to shop! go to Marshalls, Century 21, Kohls You will find normal prices for these name brands. Its such a waste to be spending a ton of money on clothes!!!

Another tip: just because its a name brand doesnt mean it cannot get stained and ruined! so if its a dollar store special shirt or a dolce and gabbana shirt or ralph lauren…(you got the point) then if you get stuck in a nail for example thats the end of it.

How he interacts with other people for example gas attendant, waiter and etc.. how he talks about other people does he talk about people and put them down? See how he reacts when things arent going how he wants them to…if when you are stuck in traffic with him how does he react?..all these things are small things about the person’s personality.
