You failed covert ops 101. Take care of any unintended witnesses.
squeakParticipantsqueakParticipantWhile we’re at it, whats the best egg matza to use for motzi matza?
squeakParticipantI give up with you people. The C does not actually stand for crying.
Thanks for the compliment though. PBA made me pretty much obsolete but I’m OK with catching some spillover.
squeakParticipantWIY I disagree. There is a motivation/image issue that holds back a lot of donateable funds from going to black hole tzedakos and schools as you mentioned. But when there is a real connection between donor and cause and deployment of funds, there is much more money available. For example, when the Mir yeshiva needed funds to stay open a year or so back, a person whom I work closely with dissolved a trust to make a big pledge. His precise words at the time were along the lines of this money makes a difference so I will buy a legacy right away instead of after 120. I was also inspired to send money that was earmarked for something else. Neither of us has shaychus to Mir, and we would both do it again for a cause like that.
There is so much money in the hands of people who believe in and support torah. But donors are sophisticated and want their money to be used well.
squeakParticipant“I dread opening up topics that have squeak’s name in them.”
CTM (I think that stands for crying to myself)

squeakParticipantlooks like popa has one successful mentee
squeakParticipant1. You hurt every Israeli by boycotting, including charedim
2. You want to blackmail the Israeli government into continuing the death spiral? Something has to give here, a stagnant working population cannot financially support a growing welfare population.
3. GAW gave the best analysis of the situation. The chareidim ultimately win by breaking the shackles of receivership. Let them rely on us in America and elsewhere to get the money they need to live, in exchange for the Torah learning that we support unconditionally. We want to support their lifestyle, their countrymen don’t. It would be a tax that I would pay with joy (unlike the taxes I pay to our own governments).

squeakParticipantIf all the gedolim who’s seforim are on hebrewbooks.org knew their sefarim would be
available to ANYONE with a click of a button and presented as public lectures on
yutorah.org- would they have ever published them in the first place?
This is why I never published seforim. The bigger shailoh is why the netziv became the netziv when he could have just used this as his excuse in shomayyim. Maybe he didn’t chap until he started to learn?
squeakParticipantI have no problem with the pischei halacha of any of those mentioned or their followers. But you knew that.
squeakParticipant…she says 3 days later
squeakParticipantPBA and I may not agree on everything, but if he’s makil then I’m on board
IFYP
squeakParticipant“Mesorah” is not an ideal
At least you’re open about who you are and your agenda. If you acted like other proselytizers we would have a bigger problem.
squeakParticipantinadvertent? <scoffs>
squeakParticipantDY… sorry for being so convincing. Don’t be ridiculous, of course I don’t believe in this junk. I would hope the gravity thing would have made my intent obvious. With all the talk here about discworlds and magics the audience should have appreciated this more.
SF, I could answer the time zone thing by diagramming a roving spotlight above a flat earth. But first prove to me that time zones actually exist.
squeakParticipantI had to kill my monkey. Read Inflexible Logic by Russell Malo….
squeakParticipantAs I said, I don’t feel any obligation to present proof. I’ve done extensive first hand research, and I assume none of you have- we don’t count simply listening to teachers as research. The basic questions that you have right now can be easily answered and if you care enough you can find those answers. If you are intrigued, at that point I’d be interested in discussing.
squeakParticipantI’ve never taught seventh grade. But I did have a 20 minute conversation with John Glenn.
squeakParticipant“Mesorah is an inauthentic concept. I hold like the score of rabbis I cited above.”
If we are to ascribe a lack of authenticity here, it would be to yourself. I doubt that the rabbis you cited would endorse the statement you made about mesorah. But you don’t care for their opinion on that do you? You only care to quote or follow the teachings that suit you, jumping from one authority to another whimsically, leniencies adding spring to your stride.
I’ve refrained from commenting on your attitude until now, but it’s enough. I’m not sure what you see in Judaism to begin with, but if your purpose here is going to be to thrust your 20-something year old sophomorism in our faces then I wish you would leave. A person with your background should be asking more, and questioning less. And never lecturing to others what you ill understand yourself.
squeakParticipantDifferent story altogether- you are talking about a replica and an original, but what I saw is the original and only. There are no replicas.
Benign, if you mean you have seen the curvature with your eyes, it’s an optical illusion. Magicians use illusions to fool us all the time, so don’t feel bad for being gullible and believing what you saw. (Also, yes, I had absolutely nothing to do with my subtitle. Didn’t ask for it, and don’t much care what the mods choose to do with it. Now watch them try to make me care 🙂
squeakParticipantI believe in many things that the general populace is brainwashed against. Some examples that come to mind instantly are
– The need to conserve gravity. We are fortunate to live in an area of the world that has abundant amounts of gravity, but it is a limited resource. I fear we are nearing “peak gravity” and we should begin conserving before a crisis hits.
– The Earth is flat. Pictures from space are fake, designed in Hollywood. Check out the Bedford Level experiment for scientific data that backs this.
– Republicans and Democrats are the same political party, run by the few richest Americans. The reason for acting as two parties is to give the people the illusion that there is actually a democratic system and that they actually participate in government. This very effectively controls the people and prevents an uprising.
– As I mentioned, I’ve been on the Hollywood set where the moon landings were shot before it was dismantled by presidential order.
I’m not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but an academic and a researcher. I am not easily convinced but I’ve seen enough to prove these. When you’ve done half the research I have we can have a serious debate.
squeakParticipantWhere in the Torah are you? I guess you don’t exist either.
squeakParticipantYour girls who come home rolling their eyes are unrealistic snobs. They either need to
1. Come to terms with the fact that those type of boys will not be able to match wits with them
2. Go out with a different type of boy who can match wits with them.
If they are looking down on the boys then they are not machshiv the sacrifice of worldliness for torah, and have no business marrying a learner. So I vote option 2. I hear YCT grads are worldly and mature.
squeakParticipantNursing is normal now?
squeakParticipantI assure you I never have :p
squeakParticipantThere is no such thing as a planet in the Torah, so there cannot be any planet sized computer. Unless you believe mice are the most intelligent beings…
squeakParticipantJoseph, please link to jfems coffee comments to show this torah person what happens by hanging out here.
squeakParticipantPopa wins. He may not be right, but he wins this one.
squeakParticipantQuiet, ectoplasm, I have a potential enlightened one here.
Yes benignuman, I am completely serious. There are many truths in this world that would surprise you, this is one of them.

March 8, 2013 1:53 pm at 1:53 pm in reply to: Facebook Is To Blame For Rising Orthodox Jewish Divorce Rate? #935306squeakParticipantThere is no reason to be proud of being mental. I wouldn’t want to be treated by a health professional who describes herself as mental.
squeakParticipantYou can’t accuse me of confusing people. I was on the set when I visited California in 1969, only 2 weeks after the landing was shot. It was going to be in Universal’s park when it opened, but the government stopped them.
There is a good reason why private trips to space end at the ISS. If it were possible, don’t you think people would pay to visit the moon?
March 8, 2013 1:37 pm at 1:37 pm in reply to: Should someone become a Rabbi as a career path? #935437squeakParticipantEven those places want YU Semicha, because unlike most Semicha which only focus on
Torah, YU teaches related disciples like Psychology and how to deal with people.
Its more of a professional degree there like a doctor or Lawyer
Maseiach l’fi tummoi.
squeakParticipantWhy don’t you go ahead and tell us your suspicions and your hunches instead of being passive aggressive. We can handle it, and you clearly need to get it out of your system.
squeakParticipantMazel tov on your new job, sorry I missed the news if you announced it before.
squeakParticipantWhy didn’t they close the school when you lost power and let you go home?
squeakParticipantAlso, breaded can easily be replaced by something more abrasive… sandy works.
squeakParticipantConvivial —> riotously insolent…. good
poultry —> ectoplasm…. waiting paitiently
squeakParticipantThat is not very convivial, wouldn’t you agree?
squeakParticipanti like coffee better than any liquid. if i could i would only drink coffee and no water. i like smoke better than air. if i could i would breathe only smoke and no air.
squeakParticipantThe moon landing is a scam. Get a telescope and scour the “surface” for the flag that was shown on tv – you won’t see it. Because it is not there. NASA staged the landing on a Hollywood set it to make JfK’s prediction “come true”. Most likely the moon cannot be landed on (extra terrestrial physics are different) and they didn’t want to admit defeat. The moon is probably a figment, like a rainbow here on earth.
squeakParticipantOf everyone in the CR you definitely make the most complicated mosholim. Even I can’t figure it out this time. I guess its Quazzio’s Rule.
squeakParticipantI have to disagree with your first statement, when you suggested two weeks before jumping ship. That is simply not enough time to adjust yourself or to see whether things will get better. This has nothing to do with seminary specifically but is true for most difficult situations. If you are willing to quit so quickly, you will miss out.
squeakParticipant“I honestly am not the type that is a Machmir. After all, I’m
on the Net. “
Was this meant to be serious? I honestly cant tell. But I can tell you that I literally sprayed my morning ensure all over the wall when I read it.
squeakParticipantYeah, you’re nuts.
squeakParticipantWithout it, you will be unable to integrate torah.
