the dynamics of yiddishkyte permits different interpretations providing we do not transgress halocha. Most yidden it appears besides having so many opinions, hizharu bedivraichem, so that ultimately you will not be held responsible for encouraging them to stray from yiddishkyte. We learn from our learned sages that before you ‘rebuke’ someone, positive reinforcement needs to be first advocated and then gently invoke what you must. So many yidden are on the edge, it does not take much to ‘push’ them over.

ignorance is certainly bliss. The sefer bais Dovid helps to define Glatt/chalak. perhaps in the place of postulating and if indeed halocha is a serious issue, then treat it as such. derech agav in the USA glatt or chalak = money. In the sefer of the Bais Dovid on shechita, there and i quote; mi she’oichel chalak harai ze me’shubach.

‘labels’ are used in fashion houses. In Yiddishkyte we attempt to bring this onto a human level. We are so quick to label, judge and make sure we have indeed used the appropriate category to associate

this individual’s list of negatives. Amazing that the Shoifet elyon has just lost this job. Our job is to serve with H-shem with all of our might and be positive. How about we all make this attempt, hey just after Yom Kippur people, and try to encourage people, stop with this holy than thou attitude because quite frankly in case anyone forgot why the second bais hamikdosh was destroyed, this is your reminder.

Zaidy: thank your luck stars you are not the Ribbono Shel Olam. We just completed davening on Rosh Hashono regarding income. Emuna and bitachon help us exist in this world. remember, as a father, tzoel vi’a tatale and as a zaida in transposes itself to tzoel vi’a zaidala. somehow the master plan of the master architect of this world has it all figured out…..

For people who did not lose you are correct, 8,9 or 10 years means nothing. Every year we who lost relive so much of this tragedy. Most people lose someone, the shiva is private, the consequent yortzeid is also a private affair. Here is where the difference sets in. The media hounded us for a few years. People traditionally ask what happened, not really because they are interested, more for gossip sake, yidden by nature are yenters. all i meant to bring out from this was it cannot hurt to be true yidden. we are called b’nai rachmanim.

Learning Torah is tolui on learning le’shem mitzva and nothing elce. if we as a community have added contingencies then we have degraded Torah for the intrinsic value it has and the reason H-shem gave it to us. Just in case no one has noticed Elul started almost three weeks ago.

Lead by example only in this fight. People do not respond to holy than thou attitudes. After all if they felt they were doing something inappropriate would they be doing it?

When arriving at a red light, do not edge forward constantly until the light changes as these little start and stop procedures burn a lot extra gas.

All these wonderful thoughts. This is a tragedy of epic proportions due to the fact that there is/was no private mourning period. There are always two yortzeids every year, September 11 and the actual on Elul 23. Sometimes it becomes overwhelming especially for those of us who have lost, getting professional help is not the worst idea in the world. It is best to recognize this sooner than later.

a famous tana had a wicked neighbour, he prayed this man should die and told his wife. Tipesh she said, be mispallel the neighbour should do teshuva. We never give up no matter what. Even the atheists when out looking for converts say. ‘please G-d there should be more of us’ in our hour of need we can only turn to the Ribono shel olam so ultimately, ad yom moso…

Being there today helped add another level of closure to this awful situation. So many people frum and otherwise refer to September 11 as the annual yortzeid when in fact the date is the 23rd of Elul. We are yidden and perhaps observing this day would be very helpful to those who lost on that tragic day. Let us the glean the positive we can from such tough day.
