and i think all those men who only wear one sleeve because of the tefillin look ludicrous. would you stand in front of the king only wearing one sleeve. IMHO, not wearing a jacket looks more menchlich for shacharis.
speakerAVParticipantJust an FYI:
Rabbi Lesser’s shul, which is fairly new is more yeshivish, whatever that means. WH is a wonderful community that gets along without looking at each others yarmulkes.
speakerAVParticipantanyone?
speakerAVParticipantSo what is the reason why so many from people have an issue with non-aggressive dogs?
speakerAVParticipantSyag, to the contrary. Dogs can contribute greatly if trained right.

speakerAVParticipantThat there are so many singles in the community who are desparate to get married. Now I’m not sure I would qualify that as a crisis per se, but all the forum publications have. Personal crisis it certainly is, not sure about it being a national crisis.
But as I said above, I don’t buy into the age-gap nonsense. It has more to do with how ridiculous the process has become.
speakerAVParticipantwritersoul,
Hence why I strongly believe that from oilem is fooling themselves with the age gap nonsense. The shidduchim crisis is due to the overwhelming pickiness and nonsense which is espoused in the shidduchim process.
speakerAVParticipantRight now the only thing holding me back from getting a dog is that it seems my family will get looked down at.
speakerAVParticipantThere is not much of an issue with walking a dog on Shabbos, look at Shabbos K’hilchaso, where he discusses the exact guidelines. Additionally, there are some possum who permit the touching of companion animals on shabbos. As to the issue of yom kippur, most shuls have some break midday, where you can let the dog do his business, but most large breeds can “hold it in” for 8-10 hrs if you are out of the house.
speakerAVParticipantWell, I am serious about getting a dog and have been considering it for a long time. Was just always worried about the negative feedback from fellow members of the community.
Now that I saw the Oorah raffle was wondering if the attitude has changed…
speakerAVParticipantJoseph, you are quick to judge. I go to the mikvah and am strongly considering getting a dog. Especially if I win it from Oorah. 🙂
speakerAVParticipantBack to my question… Has the attitude of rum people changed towards dogs and dog owners?
