Some corresponding questions to the OP’s (Homeowner):

I think it might be easier to boil this down to a few questions:

    2. Putting aside the law for a moment, under Halacha, what gives you the right to disturb (with your illegal curb-cut removing a public parking spot) your fellow Jew by interfering with his municipal right to public parking? Again, do you have a heter?

    3. Again, back to Halacha, knowing that the Department of Buildings who summons your illegal driveway is likely going to be a gentile, how do you reconcile committing Chilul Hashem by openly breaking the law especially if you have a mezuza on your front door or other Jewish articles visible in front of your home?

The Gemorah (Moed Katan 18a; Niddah 17a) tells us that “the righteous burn their nails, the pious bury them, and the wicked carelessly discard them.”

The Gemorah explains that nail clippings must be carefully disposed of lest a pregnant woman pass over them and miscarry.

See Mishnah Berurah in OC 260:1:6 or 260:6, Mogen Avraham beginning of Siman 260, Be’er Heitev 260:2, Rivevos Ephtraim Vol. 8 Siman 88:1, Likutei MaHarich Seder hanhagos Erev Shabbos Dibur hamaschil V’Ayin B’Rama.

Based on the above it would be prudent for a pregnant woman to avoid a nail salon.

The NS Hillary vote was the mitzvah rabba of pidyum shvuyim, plain and simple. Yes there was an off the record deal with Bill and Hillary for a pardon. And well worth it, considering Slick Willie gave the pardon — something he would never otherwise have done.

It was an anomaly to normal voting patterns.

    “????? ?? ????? ???? ????”

If this becomes a central driving principal then…

Perhaps Shulchan Aruch has an “appeals process” where certain, unliked, sections can be repealed?

There are some great stringencies in the area of tsnius (between husband and wife) that the Mechaber brings down, against which the Remah argues.

This is not one of them. No one argues on this “stringency”.

I still maintain the proper approach is (to the best ability) have separate sites for each gender. Many sites are geared to a specific gender. And even say ONLY for them.

In fact matchmaking websites (Jewish and non Jewish) limit it to singles ONLY — even though technically one could lie. But still it will self enforce no obvious opposite gender conversations.

The only thing some of the other gedolim may have not agreed with the Satmar Rebbe was how to treat the zionist state ex post facto once it existed. i.e. the Satmar Rebbe instructed people not to vote in Israeli elections, not take a penny from the zionist government (he put his money where his mouth was!), etc. Some other gedolim felt even though the Zionist State is evil, they needed to do what was best for Chareidim under the circumstances i.e. vote and accept funding (since they were forced to pay taxes.)

But don’t excuse being fat with guys are shallow and I’m ok. If you are fat YOU have a problem with food. You need to work on your self control and it can likely be a sign that there are other areas of your life being out of control.

Every fat girl I (I mean 20 pounds + overweight) ever dated or that I know of or am related to has issues. Sorry if its not politically correct.

That is shallow. If you weren’t so shallow, you would have an equal problem with a girl being 20 pounds underweight, if your concern were health as you claim it is.

I should note that even Gil Student, a fierce zionist who publishes many stuff supporting it, wrote the following:

“The Satmar Rav’s treatment of this subject is lengthy, erudite and simply brilliant. One can only be amazed by the breadth and depth of his thinking.”

I’m still struggling with the ebonics.

Of the approximately 31 GOP State Senate candidates that didn’t win, quite a few came real close and lost by a squeaker. They were just short of 50%. So your 27% was far far from the “top 5” losers.

There are 31 confirmed Republican winner, which guarantees the GOP at least a tie, with 3 races still too close to call — which they are likely to pick up one or two (as they are ahead), and grab the majority.

Avi, I’m trying to understand your ebonics.

Why are you talking about yourself in the third person?

The Republicans won at least 32 of the 64 State Senator races in NYS. You got 27%. What do you mean you are in the top 5? The top 32 won. You didn’t.

It’s like a tall girl. Guys usually want their wife to be shorter — or at least not taller — than them. (And the wife similarly usually wants a taller husband.) It is a natural instinct.

Same with knowledge. Guys naturally don’t want someone more knowledgeable. Usually that isn’t a problem finding.

    RSRH –

That is indeed a major factor in the problem. With the girl being so busy in her academics, she has no time for real life — especially family.

    Health,

That is from Rav Klein’s psak, and Rav Klein just said he cannot confirm the third-hand hearsay to that effect. So even R. Klein’s psak is saying no source for such claim! Secondly, even that hearsay from the Professor’s book is not claiming anyone said he was a rodef.

If you read Rav Elyashev’s psak (quoted earlier in the thread), R. Elyashev said “tikun olam” not rodef. AND R. Elyashev said the proof must be “CERTAIN” before one is allowed to call the police or authorities.

Though there is such a thing as false “recovered memories,” I would hope and believe that most frum kids would not make up such a story.

oomis, It was induced in the children by adults. There is a reason the Torah doesn’t allow a court to accept the testimony of a minor.

And I should add, many innocent adults were falsely convicted — and served very long jail sentences — after false molestation accusations were leveled against them by children, that were later discredited. And I’m not talking about in the religious world.

vnishmartem – See my comment about the infamous induced memories scandal that therapists used to bring false accusations against innocent (as later proven) adults. This has happened very frequently. Repeat, very frequently. There even was an entire set of false incedents across the country known as the “Day care sex abuse hysteria”. You cannot accept a child’s accusation at face value.

That being said, as mw13, pointed out, when the allegation is PROVEN BEYOND DOUBT the consequences must be severe. And if there is serious reason to believe the accuser, the accused should be removed from working with children, even if there is no criminal penalties since there is no proof.

    mw13: Well said.

Children have had “induced memories” by therapists resulting in false allegations of abuse against adults. This is well documented in medical literature. The Wall Street Journal exposed one of many such examples in the case of Gerald Amirault. There was a whole scandal regarding this. See for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_care_sex_abuse_hysteria and http://truthinjustice.org/child-abuse.htm
