    Oomis you’re 100% right!!

Just one thing about water filters- copepods or not, its good to have a filter for the sake of cleanliness. When I take my filter off to clean, IT IS BROWN, with disgusting dirt on it.I like a filter for that reason.

But kosher lpesach napkins? Not for me!!!

BH: if I’d be you I wouldn’t make fun.

While I also believe that half of these hechserim are very exaggerated, I still believe that people use them.

They’re only meant to make our halachos easier and they shouldn’t bother you .

I just ignore these extreme things and buy the ones w/o the hechsher. But I never make fun of others’ frumkeit.

Hereorthere- that is a very big problem. Todays days people are so into “learning” that they forget about middos.

A top boy is a boy that learns all day but top middos is not so amazing to people.

We had a family member in the hospital recently. The chesed and ahavas yisroel was tangible.

So many organizations which are staffed with people that give up their life for chesed. These people help out ANYTIME at no cost.

I have no words to describe it!!

    Mi keamcha yisroel!!

OOMIS- I can’t get over that story with your son. It teaches a great lesson.

I’m just oh so curious what answer you gave that mother? How did you respond to her careless, dumb attitude?

True, while dating you are definitely supposed to have some comfortability, but so comfortable that silence should feel absolutely normal? Hhhmmm. I guess it depends on individuals.

Funny that you also discussed the silence.I thought I was the only crazy one.

MYBAT- I disagree with you. A date is not supposed to have comfortable silence. That would mean that the boy and girl are becoming a bit too comfortable with each others. At this stage (while dating), they shouldn’t become so comfortable with each others that silence should feel normal. I just don’t think it’s right.

Another thing, what do you say to discussing the silence? Like, I hope you don’t mind the silence but its ok with me if me don’t speak every second…I think that would make both of them feel comfortable with the silence.

Haifagirl-policeman men carry guns for emergency. They will not shoot if you didn’t take your cpr course!

I was the one who made that comment about making a law to learn cpr. That doesn’t mean that it should be done with force. Rather it should be a requirement that people over a specific age group must attend a course.

There should be some kind of a consequence for those who don’t follow. For example:

Low income pple can’t receive govt funding until they attend a course and pass the exam, and higher income pple should have to pay compensation.

It can also be made a requirement for immigrants if they want to become US citizens.

I think its important but that’s just my opinion.

This can only be to our benefit.

Oh I believe you!! I’ve had quite a few of those awkward silent moments when we couldn’t find what to say(and neither of us is too quiet).

Now the problem is that we don’t have the time to talk!!!

And what is wrong with a moment silence. You don’t need to speak every second. Take a minute to think. After all, you’re two new people that are TRYING to find what to talk about to each others!! If only people would learn to act like their honest self on dates…

WOLF: in the chassidishe circles it’s very different. The boy and girl just meet once or twice for a very formal talk.

Automatically, if the conversation is kept formal(so not to bring closeness between a boy and girl), then the conversation doesn’t flow too good.

Therefore, it has been accepted that the boy starts, and the conversation continues from there. Otherwise it would be awkward to meet and just wait until one starts to talk.

Wolf- its disrespectful because its the accepted thing that the boy starts.

Estherh: I like what you wrote about going to learn first aid/cpr. I think this is really a must whether one has free time or not.

I’m waiting for the day that they will make it a requirement by law. Maybe then our world will be a bit safer.

I blend leftover challah and use as regular breadcrumbs which I use for a number of things.

As a side tip, when using breadcrumbs or matzha meal to coat cutlets, add some sesame seeds to the crumbs and fry. It looks very pretty when served bec seeds stay white.

Not either a cake recipe but something light for a change:

Take lettuce(leftover marror leaves), add some cut up orange tidbits, some pieces of apple, and some chopped walnuts.

Pour some lemon/orange juice over it and you have a delicious fruit salad!!

True, I also do spring cleaning. But THAT cannot be done on the expense of the kids. I only do whatever I have time for. The rest is strictly pesach cleaning.

Those pple do pesach cleaning AND spring cleaning.

If we would do strictly chametz cleaning it should take abt 2 wks.

But if people don’t mind cleaning their house since chanuka, then I definitely don’t mind…(As long as they don’t ask me to help!)

Boredstiff- it’s a very sad joke. Some mothers make their kids into a korban while cleaning because the kids are constantly yelled at and pressured.

And BTW if anyone has a baby outfit that has yellow stains because the babys pamper leaked through(!), rub the stain with some plain dishwashing liquid soap and wash in machine. Works wonders and is safe.

Dust is not chametz and kids are not the korban pesach…

Please clean the CHAMETZ from your house instead of spring cleaning. You can spring clean in the summer instead of going off to the catskills.
