May 26, 2010 5:27 pm at 5:27 pm in reply to: Mothers Of Boys Wanting To See Pictures Of Girls #685427smartcookieMemberoh my not again!!!
smartcookieMemberNewport RI. Besides the historical parts to it, there’s one hotel there which overlooks the ocean and is beautiful. You can also go on. a beautiful cruise there.
smartcookieMemberOne one particular boring day in school we decided to play a a prank on our math teacher.
We each took our big textbook and pushed the cover into the dropceiling, each girl above her desk. The book was hangaing down from the ceiling with the cover holding it in place.
When the teacher walked in, we each stood straight at the left side of our desks and neat rows of books hanging above our heads. It was some sight.
smartcookieMemberYup count me in. Have it for years without any reason. I know others like that too. Perhaps it’s a lack of sleep? Donno. Wouldn’t be surprised though!
(Plse have ur lungs checked anyway. Do not rely on my “diagnosis”)
smartcookieMemberWOLF- I would think Hashem is trying to send us a mssge. So He shows us the spiritual things in a physical manner so we realize how true true it is.
smartcookieMemberNope d a, I didn’t miss you at all!!(Kidding of course, of course!!). You just post so much in the CR that I started wondering WHERE you disappeared and if you’re ok!! But were so glad to have you back!
smartcookieMemberWelcome back d a. Didn’t hear from you in a while!
smartcookieMemberAnyone knows where d a is? We haven’t heard from him in a wk! Doesn’t sound like him!
smartcookieMemberHiding- did you know he’s here or did you recognize his posts and discover him here?
smartcookieMemberEsther- I’ve been thinking about you lately. We didn’t hear from you in a while. I hope you’re feeling ok. Have a refuah shelaime and a good yom tov.
smartcookieMemberCook it abt an hour. Salmon is technically cooked after abt 1/2 hour but I think it stays too hard. I like it cooked a bit longer than that so you have soft fish.
smartcookieMemberWow aidle ur great! You cooked more than I did! Hope everything comes out nice and good!
smartcookieMemberAidlemaidel- so let’s hear what you DID make alrdy?
smartcookieMemberYummy salmon- saute onion, when golden, add 1/2 cup sugar until browned. Add fish. Cover with water. Spice with some some salt, bay leaves, whole cloves(for taste).cook about 1 hour and let cool!
Really delicious!
smartcookieMemberICOT- ur funny!
smartcookieMemberI didn’t attend but I heard from others that it was an amazing, beautiful, inspiring presentation. I hear it was really something!
smartcookieMemberHey I miss this thread! Good shabbos to all!
smartcookieMemberI gave up on my sleep a long time ago! We just learn to function on 4 hrs a night! Well have enough time to sleep after 120!!
smartcookieMemberJewish girl- Go ahead! (Only good ones!)
smartcookieMemberHIE- many pple go on YW on their blackberries so they check into the CR more often.
smartcookieMemberThanks Oomis. Looks a bit too complimlicated for my non baking skills but yum!!
I really wanna try it. Will see. Yasher koach.
smartcookieMemberYou people that don’t like cheesecake are so silly!!! Lol!!
OOMIS- can I get that marble cheesecake recipe? I wanna make a good one.
smartcookieMemberYes mod. In fact many public libraries have free internet access on their compputers. But you gotta have a membership there to use it.
smartcookieMemberIsn’t there a classified section on YW?
smartcookieMemberI don’t eat chalav stam but never look down at someone who does. As long as they’re following a rav I’m ok with it.
Eili v’eili divrei elokim chaim.
smartcookieMemberMommy 613- sorry to disapoint you, but don’t think for a minute that your kids are never involved in pranks.
School pranks don’t mean chutzpah. Sometimes they can be cute and done to the right teacher that enjoys them.
Sometimes they are performed purim time when teachers specifically give permission.
Whatever the case is, students definitely need to be careful with chutzpah but sometimes pranks are cute and really not minded by the teachers.
smartcookieMemberHey this thread almost fell off the page. Some more entertaining stories please??
smartcookieMemberThanks D a! Got it!!
smartcookieMemberThanks 99. It worked.
smartcookieMemberQuestion-whats the url I use for the coffee room? “Theyeshivaworld/coffeeroom” aint working.
Also, Please add more topics to the CR main page. We used to scroll down for so many new threads but now there are very few to choosed from on the main page.
smartcookieMemberCR is working at full speed again!!!!!!!! Finally!!!!!!
When are we throwing a party?!
smartcookieMemberLol! Who spends most time here? I probably do. Who POSTS most here? That’s the question, and THAT the mods can tell us!
smartcookieMemberI strongly disagree.
While my heart goes out for these mothers and these boys, Japan is not to blame here. They don’t deserve to be punished.
The boys in reality smuggled drugs, even if it was unwillingly, and its only normal of the Japanese govt to hold them on account for their crime. Japan is not judging them with hatred or antisemitism. They even let the boy go to israel and finish his term there. (I think the american justice system is full of antisemitism. What a shame and disgrace.)
The most we can do for them is daven and donate $.
So yocheved, just continue to have them in mind every wk when you light candles. Its nice that ur concerned about them.
May Hashem send them their Yeshua Bekorov.
smartcookieMemberJewish girl- the story of Yehudis belongs to chanukah and not shavuos.
We eat milchigs because, as mentioned b4, when the yidden got the torah with all new halachos from basar and chalav, they didn’t know how to cook up a meal with their treife keilim so they ate light dairy food that didn’t need cooking. (Raw cheescake anyone?!)
smartcookieMemberJust imagine mod 80 sitting near mcdonalds and moderating our posts!!
smartcookieMemberHowever, you are using their bandwidth which will make their service work slower. So mybe you shld check with them if they don’t mind? Usually people lock it so others can’t use it.
smartcookieMemberNo. They pay internet per month not per use.
smartcookieMemberI also use AVG. Very good.
ICOT-did you get computer training or are you just plain great at this?
smartcookieMemberD a, that’s why its in the “jokes” thread.
smartcookieMemberUHU….
smartcookieMemberI think that half the posters on this list stopped posting by now!!
smartcookieMemberLol Oomis! You’re taking every careless mistake too literal!
But I admit that this one did look very funny!
smartcookieMemberSeems to me that the terrorist was trying to confuse the US and say he is from the taliban. And same with Taliban that they took responsibility for the attack. Why not say they organized it? Gives them lots of power.
But I’m wondering the same still!
smartcookieMemberAidel maidel- best to start in advance. Make whatever you can this week already.
I’m planning to prep and freeze 2 types of soups- chicken soup and veggie or butternut soup. Those freeze beautifully and you get one job done!
Fish ill prepare b4 yom tov. I would do two types.
I do salmon- will bake some of the slices with some oil, paprika, garlic powder springled on. The other slices will b e baked in a sauce of sauted onion and garlic, mixed with brown sugar and ketchup. Yum!
Meats I guess will do:
Simple baked chicked for one meal,
Cooked minute steak,
Turkey goulash cooked with potatoes.
You can also prep in advance and freeze some pie as side dish.
Now for milchig dishes…hhhmmm….too many good dishes to choose from…still deciding!
Good luck!
smartcookieMember??With all the computer lingo lately like- LOL OMG TTYL HOW R YOU, I asked someone if she’ll be going to shul this Shabbos to which she replied, JFK(just for kiddush)!
smartcookieMemberDr pepper. Ur stories are cute. I’m really enjoying them!
smartcookieMemberPeerim- so you thought ull write whatever you please, in Yiddish, and no one will understand? Sorry!
From the way you spelled “peerim”, and not purim, I see you guys are from a chassidishe yeshiva. Satmar I suppose? Hmmm….
