BP Totty, your boring shopping spree reminds me of one day when I was in a store where most men wouldn’t come in there with their wives.
I saw a, well, unfortunate couple there and the husband was telling his wife loud enough for others to hear,
“Why am I the only husband to attend to all your shopping needs. Look around, there are no men here only myself!”. He told her next time she should take money from him and go herself.
It was very sad. She just can’t make ANY decision herself.
smartcookieMemberChocolate
Chocolate
and chocolate.
For breakfast, lunch and supper.
smartcookieMemberGingerbread
smartcookieMember100% right. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is in Halacha.
smartcookieMemberWhatru-
Thanks! I like #1 and #5 best.
Brooklyn bridge is beautiful. We do that sometimes.
And I still love to just sit in the car and ride around! (And shmooze!)
smartcookieMemberWhere are you?
smartcookieMemberBDE.
This is really sad and spooky. Hashem should comfort his family and close ones.
smartcookieMemberTalk to your principal about it.
smartcookieMemberThis motzei shabbos is long
Come let’s sing a song
Why don’t I go to bed
Is probably what you said
But sleeping so early just sounds wrong!
smartcookieMemberLol, these limericks are great
For some more I can’t wait
I’m having a ball
Reading this wall
The coffee room is top rate!
Ooooh…that was pretty nebby…
smartcookieMemberShoots, pity, fish is yum. Otherwise I can’t help. We cook shabbos pretty traditional!
I hope you’ll find what to eat:)
smartcookieMemberSac- do you like any kind of fishes? Because I can give you some good fish recipes lkovod shabbos.
smartcookieMemberOk my tuition is paid and ill get a babysitter 🙂
But I’m not looking for overnights. I’m just looking for somewhere to go for abt 2 hrs at night after supper.
smartcookieMemberCraisin
smartcookieMemberI do live in brooklyn.
Chesedname- that’s beautiful but I do find that you need some smaller outings more often than that.
Sac- I think of that idea pretty often. But I can’t decide if it pays to spend $$ on a hotel room and stay in the busy city life.
To me, a hotel vacation belongs far from home with a change of scenery!
smartcookieMemberThank you everybody! With the winter arriving we gotta find some nice indoor places. I do like some suggestions here. Any more?
smartcookieMemberThis thread is so boring
It makes me snoring
So off to sleep
Very deep
Until tomorrow early morning!
smartcookieMemberYou are a cheater.
smartcookieMemberI need quarters for the meter.
smartcookieMemberI was amazed by this whole ordeal. I can’t stop thinking about the miners’ and their familys’ feelings.
They truly came out of their graves!
smartcookieMemberWatch out there’s a big bird.
smartcookieMemberShlomozalmen- while our definition of love is different than the goyim, we definitely have a concept of love in the Torah. If you fail to understand that, then please don’t get married until you seek help.
There’s a reason why children are born through love and intimate relationships and they just don’t grow on trees!
And that reason is because a couple has to have true love.
Ask any rav or mentor if you don’t trust me.
smartcookieMemberBP totty YOU ARE so funny!
smartcookieMemberShlomozalman- your way of thinking is a bit off.
No one gets married for the sake of having children. Even couples that have a family of 10+ kids still need a beautiful relationship in which they really love each others.
smartcookieMemberSac, if he did that to you, then you should be happy you aren’t married to him. His betrayal wouldn’t end there.
I’m sure that was very difficult for you though.
smartcookieMemberWell I never received that phonecall.
smartcookieMemberBtw my posek does not allow any strawberries, except if you completely blend them.
smartcookieMemberApushitayid- you’re missing out on some delicious food.
If you want good recipes for those feel free to ask me!
smartcookieMemberHutzenplutz doesn’t belong to a language. It’s a made up word that means far far away(like mars!)
October 12, 2010 3:16 am at 3:16 am in reply to: When does doing Chesed become called "being used"? #700102smartcookieMemberFrumlady- do you know this or are you imagining that these are her thoughts?
Because some people just take favors without caring. They absolutely have zero feelings of gratitude and have no problem taking advantage of others. They think the whole world owes them everything.
Unfortunately, I know many such people.
October 12, 2010 2:08 am at 2:08 am in reply to: When does doing Chesed become called "being used"? #700100smartcookieMemberYou should try to think very hard why you are scared to refuse her. Once you know the reason, you’ll be able to help yourself.
smartcookieMemberSac- youre eating blended bugs but that’s not assur.
smartcookieMemberBlinky- that thing about the hair was quite dumb to say when giving info. People turn everything into negative so please CAUTION!
smartcookieMemberI was told even Bodek shouldn’t be used, except when blending the veggie.
smartcookieMemberSac- I never came across that prob. I cook the veggies of course.
smartcookieMemberLol Dr pepper. You’ve got some self esteem there!
smartcookieMemberMy rabbi(and that’s a psak for myself) allows ONLY the Eden GREENHOUSE GROWN frozen veggies.
smartcookieMemberI once asked in a different thread and the answer I got was to search through CC.
I do think YW should make an official CR search box though.
smartcookieMemberDr pepper- aren’t you worried that she’s reading your posts and she’s very embarrassed?
smartcookieMemberI was told by member Chofetz Chaim that his name takes you to a direct CR search link.
I always find him in the dvar torah thread and click on his name.
Works great for me!
October 11, 2010 4:17 am at 4:17 am in reply to: How do you get out of saying you're going on a date? #699758smartcookieMemberHow about saying your phone battery was dead and was charging?
Anyway, you should get used to not responding at the moment you get a text. This was they won’t get suspicious if you don’t respond.
October 11, 2010 3:26 am at 3:26 am in reply to: When does doing Chesed become called "being used"? #700087smartcookieMemberChesed begins at home. You’re not supposed to kill yourself for her because she doesn’t seem THAT helpless. You are definitely being manipulated.
She is taking advantage of you and you should only do for her what you seriously feel like doing for her.
Oh how I HATE when people take advantage.
smartcookieMemberI would never post my pic. I think it takes away from the beauty of our privacy.
And besides, it can definitely be an ayin hora.
smartcookieMemberWIY- lol you just took that off a different sight!
You say it when you wanna tell the person to go get a life.
smartcookieMemberIgen- yes
Pulatchinta- blintzes!!
Nemtudun(I think)- I don’t understand.
Puputch- slippers
Bulunt- I think this means crazy.
What a language! Those are the few words I picked up over the years. There’s more…I’m thinking…
smartcookieMemberPoppa- no, I’ll leave nigeria for you to visit. I’ll rather go to Niagara Falls!
smartcookieMemberHello99- Yes I’m Chassidish, and all litvaks I know, never heard of the yiddish word for daughter in law, let alone pronounce it!
smartcookieMemberNiagara
smartcookieMemberSon in law- eidem
Daughter in law- shneer
FIL- shver
MIL- shvigger
Bro in law- shvugger
Sis in law- shvegerin
Btw I charge per hour.
smartcookieMemberPascha- I do take vitamin D supplements though I’m long past my teens!
I’m just wondering about what you said that canker sores are a sign that the body is worn out. Do you know this as a fact? Is it possible there’s some allergy that triggers it?
Because I only started having them in the past year but I’m not exceptionally stressed. Maybe just very very tired!
