Interesting. Never heard of that. I’m just surprised because I know that Frum Jews have been gambling in many places as a game. But I guess it doesn’t make it right if “everybody” does it!
smartcookieMemberWhy are people stupid enough to take out their cars in this weather?
smartcookieMemberI’m almost positive that not. Now what in the world will we do tomorrow??
smartcookieMemberCan someone explain to me why gambling is stealing? I’ve never gambled but can’t imagine how those two come together?
smartcookieMemberMyfriend- please tell us WHICH godel said that? Name please?
smartcookieMemberCedarhurst- I’m sure you don’t need my “brainy” advice, but I’m wondering if you don’t try to do private jobs.
Many IT techs go around to businesses on their own.
It’s not a set wage/hours, but people do it for a living for years.
December 27, 2010 4:02 pm at 4:02 pm in reply to: Should The Wife Have Total Control Of The Home Internet? #973275smartcookieMemberI can’t understand why a woman trusts herself.
Both spouses should always be present when internet is in use.
December 27, 2010 1:25 pm at 1:25 pm in reply to: How to entertain 3 kids under age 4 when they can't go out to play #722157smartcookieMemberWow Derech Hamelch!
I can’t believe I never thought of doing that! Gotta try it today!
smartcookieMemberPrepare some cakes and fruits.
Invite some family over. Cut your son’s hair. Put on his Tzitzis and make a Bracha with him.
What more do you need?
smartcookieMemberLooks like some boring day tomorrow sitting and playing legos all day!
Mods, please try to moderate quickly tomorrow as people will need a lot of motivation!!!
December 26, 2010 11:39 pm at 11:39 pm in reply to: Web & Social Media – latest online tips & tools #722258smartcookieMemberTMB- I actually read up on it this past week and watched the video on it.
Bomb- it really looked interesting on the video. I thought it was amazing. But I wonder if I’ll have the same problems with it like you do.
As of now I’m not buying a new computer, so I guess I’ll have to wait around for my chance to try it!
smartcookieMemberSorry Bomb- didn’t mean anything!
What I’m saying is that I never knew you’re a professional!
December 26, 2010 10:49 pm at 10:49 pm in reply to: Web & Social Media – latest online tips & tools #722255smartcookieMemberBomb- what didn’t you like? Was it real inconvenient or is it just a lot of getting used to?
smartcookieMemberIf only Meshulachim would understand that I have another one hundred seventy five causes to give to!
Btw, I have a policy not to open the door if my hub isn’t home. Even at 12 noon.I’m plain scared.
I wish I can please everybody…
smartcookieMemberWow! Bomb!
Nice article. I was sure you took it from somewhere!can’t believe it’s your own work!
smartcookieMemberNot at all. If it does for you, than absolutely stay far from it.
smartcookieMemberIf you keep Cheshbon really good exactly what you put onto your card, and pay your bills on time, then it’s great.
I’m using a CC for years for everything(even groceries), and we never paid a bill late. We’re accumulating good points and already have enough for 2 international tickets.
It’s great. But in opposition, it’s terrible for people who aren’t on top of it.
December 26, 2010 7:52 pm at 7:52 pm in reply to: Web & Social Media – latest online tips & tools #722252smartcookieMemberBomb- give it a few years and it’s taking over the computer world, like it or not.
So say goodbye to windows computers.
Bomb, Did you actually try one of those already?
smartcookieMemberShticky guy- what makes you think so? If I required about him, that makes me him?
Tomorrow I’ll inquire about you and I’ll become YOU!!
Anyway, if you’d know D a, you wouldn’t ask this hilarious question.
I think the boring threads happen because anything thats a bit more interesting or controversial gets closed very soon.
smartcookieMemberCutiepie- of course there’ll be much getting used to. However, keep in mind that your husband IYH will have to get used to many things about you too!
Some things can be worked on(showers for exapmle- if you ask him to shower every day, he might comply. Please save the question for after you’re married!)
Some things you will just have to live with. Therefore, while dating, you TRY(we can never be sure), that nothing will bother you that much that it will grate your nerves for life.
Anyway, if you’re really happy, then the little things don’t bother too much.
Don’t forget you two grew up in different families after all. That’s what marriage is. It’s working on your Middos and being happy!
Hatzlacha!
smartcookieMemberI agree 100 percent.
MANY threads are repeats and therefore boring.
And the bashing here is terrible lately.
As a side question- anyone know where D a disappeared to?
smartcookieMemberMiddos Middos Middos.
smartcookieMemberI don’t see any problem with the dolls.
They definitely don’t promote any untznius ideas or perfection in looks.
I think it’s amazing for children’s imagination and fantasy. It makes play life come so real.
I can understand why people wouldn’t spend such high amounts on a doll, but that’s already an individual opinion as to where you want to spend your money.
smartcookieMembersorry just had to try out this bold thing
smartcookieMemberMazel Tov Oomis!! May you have much Nachas from them all!
And thanks for sharing!
smartcookieMemberNittul
smartcookieMemberFrumlady- that’s funny!
Reminds me of one night my husband called Sprint and the rep, who was obviously new there, was excusing herself saying that Sprint is having a major “updation”.
She repeated this word about 3 times during the conversation.
(When the updation is complete…bla bla bla.)
She definitely needs some English language skills updation :D.
smartcookieMemberNa, Agent- I’m not that desperate to figure it out!
But I am desperate to get her engaged though!
smartcookieMemberI am a smartcookie after all 😉
Anyway- so where we celebrating, Blinks?
smartcookieMemberECLIPSE
You’re gonna leave us for an entire week?
I’m devastated…how can I get through my wk without you?
smartcookieMemberMaybe it’s her chosson and she’s not saying cuz she doesn’t wanna identify herself?
smartcookieMemberYoeli Lebowitz(chassish comedian)
smartcookieMemberBlinky- is agent your mooooommmm????
December 23, 2010 10:10 pm at 10:10 pm in reply to: Should The Wife Have Total Control Of The Home Internet? #973252smartcookieMemberWoman need Shmirah too. If somebody denies that, then they are lying.
Men need it more, true. But enough stories surfaced after women spent too much time on the internet unobserved, and they reached wrong sites/people.
smartcookieMemberNiagara Falls! So relaxing! And of course, Eretz Yisroel!
smartcookieMemberLight reading and I choose whichever thread I’m in the mood of!
smartcookieMemberTMB- that’s why we have Gedolim. But that’s not your job.
smartcookieMemberWhy am I very confused between So Right and Trying my Best?
I keep thinking to myself, hey, these are two posters, although they seem to be the same.
smartcookieMemberFeif un- thank you. I wish more people would learn their lesson.
December 22, 2010 6:04 pm at 6:04 pm in reply to: If You Could Be ANYONE For One Day,Who Would It Be? #720737smartcookieMemberOh BT Totty- don’t make men THAT simple because they are actually quite an interesting breed!
December 22, 2010 5:41 pm at 5:41 pm in reply to: If You Could Be ANYONE For One Day,Who Would It Be? #720731smartcookieMemberBlinky’s hardly on lately. I thought already she disappeared from the CR.
smartcookieMemberThat’s the reason why my puppy always wear a little knit sweater.
December 22, 2010 2:33 pm at 2:33 pm in reply to: If You Could Be ANYONE For One Day,Who Would It Be? #720721smartcookieMemberMy husband.
I think it would do good to anyone to be their spouse for a day! It would give us a better understanding of how to treat and respect them.
It would also help us understand them better.
smartcookieMemberBlinky- that limerick is amazing! Luv it!
smartcookieMemberTMB- please explain this nonsense to me:
You allow yourself to sit on a filtered internet, but others may not sit on filtered TV(where they filter exactly what they see and what they won’t).
Such bluff.
smartcookieMemberShouldn’t be here-
I hate to break it to you, but friday night walks around the block are also a date night. You and your spouse taking a calm, quiet walk, that’s quality time.
smartcookieMemberOf course it’s not appropriate to display too much love between each others. The kids don’t feel comfortable.
But children must see that parents live happily and get along more than “nicely” and they should know that Totty and Mommy are a close knit
team.
smartcookieMemberHashem’s Son-
I have it too. I think it happens when mods are off and not letting posts through. I guess they’re entitled to coffee breaks too!
Usually when new post go up after that, there are so many posts that I don’t know where to start.
smartcookieMemberThere is nothing more reassuring to children than seeing their parents love one another. It helps them thrive as they feel safe and secure.
December 21, 2010 9:10 pm at 9:10 pm in reply to: A Radical Solution to the Shidduch Crisis? #719483smartcookieMemberand spouses are not so much expected to be each other’s “best friends.”
Not necessarily true at all.
We are taught all our years that our spouse will be the most important thing to us when married.
Married Chassidish couples are best friends. They might not look it cuz they would never act “mushy” in public.
