My fish for Shabbos is very salty.
smartcookieMemberI don’t mind it, but what I do mind is that the discussions aren’t printed accurately there.
He somewhere got confused mid conversation, because “smartcookie” said some things there, which I never said here.
People outside the CR know my username, and I don’t want wrong things to be published in my name.
smartcookieMemberOf course Challos freeze well.
I bake all my Challos but keep them lightly browned.
Fri afternoon I rebake 2 Challos for Shabbos and brown them some more.
Delicious fresh crispy Challos!
smartcookieMemberMoski, I can’t believe I’m not on that list :_(
smartcookieMemberI use a fork too and it’s easy, very quick, and effortless!
And WIY, it’s nice to hear from you! Please do come more often!
smartcookieMemberOomis, many convection ovens come in sizes to Fit a roaster, even a large cookie sheet.
Contact your local electronics store.
smartcookieMemberI told my 5 year old son, “it’s really hot in our house,” to which he answered, “you know why? Cuz I’m shvitzing”.
I said, “why? Your shvitzing doesn’t make the house hot.” And he answers so innocently and seriously,
“Of course it does, I’m shvitzing and I’m walking around all over the house, no wonder it’s so warm here!”
smartcookieMemberGoq, sorry you’re not getting what you wanted to hear.
But maybe, just maybe, this is a sign that your relative has a good point with telling you to try to overcome your past?
Not to minimize your pain, but you did admit that you blame things on your past and that keeps you back from being successful.
You’re living the life anyway, might as well make it good!
smartcookieMemberGoq, to answer your holocaust ques, I can see that your relative wanted to point out to you that you can succeed despite all your hardships.
But no, I don’t think the Holocaust, and other’s day to day Tzaros have anything to do with each others.
There are nebach enough people who haven’t gone through the holocaust, but have been through their own h*ll.
And maybe we should all take a lesson from holocasut survivors, who rebuilt their lives and started from new, after so much suffering.
If they can, we all can too!
smartcookieMemberMP, I’m impressed with your outlook and attitude.
smartcookieMemberGoq, this has nothing to do with you. This is a genereal statement.
Some people are so hung up on their bad childhood, that they don’t even try to succeed in life. They blame everything on their problems. It is very unfortunate and I know quite a few people like that.
They had potential for a beautiful life but everything was limited to “I can’t! My childhood/family/current circumstances don’t allow me to succeed”. It’s so much easier to say that than to face and correct their problems.
Goq, again, I don’t you know you or your suffering, so this post is not directed to you at all. I’m just stating this for conversation purposes.
smartcookieMemberThank you concerned member for taking the words out of my mouth. I couldn’t figure out how to word this response to MDD and you nailed it.
smartcookieMemberBaruch Dayan Haemes.
I don’t think there’s much to say. These parents don’t need words of Chizzuk now. Just show them you care, tell them what a sad tragedy this is, and cry with them.
You can also say a nice thing or two about their son.
They just need you to feel their pain.
smartcookieMemberDeoderant AT LEAST twice a day? Isn’t this more like OCD?
smartcookieMemberMazel tov coffee addict and MRA! Hope everyone’s feeling fine.
Much Nachas!
June 11, 2012 9:12 pm at 9:12 pm in reply to: The Unthinkable – What Happens When We Run Out of Topics? #1017604smartcookieMemberIt already happened. The topics from the past few years are recycling by the dozen.
smartcookieMemberHealth, my Totes broke after 13 minutes…
And anyway, some random guy finding your name and number on an umbrella, is same as him opening a phone book and randomely choosing some name.
Don’t write your ss# on it please….
smartcookieMemberInnhouse.com- excellent houses and prices. I stayed at one of them.
Not a kosher kitchen though if that’s what you want.
smartcookieMemberOnly men lose umbrellas cuz they sit around in Bais Medrash and then forget to take take the umbrella home, because by the time they leave Shul, it already stopped raining.
Women are more responsible 🙂
smartcookieMemberZeeskite, seems like the Asifa accomplished something…:)
smartcookieMemberGoq, I can see you not being invited because someone doesn’t like you as a person(still makes it wrong), but cuz you’re single? What the he*k?
smartcookieMemberRegarding the Asifa, I do agree that the speeches shouldve all been in English being that they expected so many diverse communities to attend.
In general though, nope, we still need Yiddish around. But OP, you feel free to attend only the English ones.
smartcookieMemberI, For one, and many others I know, are still going strong on the Yiddish language. That is the main language in my home.
So we still appreciate hearing some Yiddish language/speeches sometimes.
That said, I mostly speak English outside my home, and my kids know the language too, so I’ll love listening to an English speech at any given time.
But I still appreciate, that I have a second language that I’m so fluent in, and it’s another one of those hundred things that separate us American Jews with the rest of Americans.
And btw, Yiddish is a beautiful language for those who know it well.
smartcookieMemberMikehall- the ONLY internet solution is to open MORE kosher, Yiddish sites.
Face it: internet is here to stay FOREVER.
The only thing that will keep us away from non Jewish outlets, is to have good Jewish sites to oppose them.
If YWN or other Heimish news sites go down, hundreds of Yidden will again search their news on ABC, Fox or the likes.
Now we need some more Kosher blogs, Kosher/moderated chats, and more Kosher entertainment online to save our generation. And some good Kosher movies wouldn’t hurt us either.

smartcookieMemberBooze- I always knew that the reason we really celebrate, is because the day is so Heilig and many Nissim can happen on this day.
May 10, 2012 4:49 am at 4:49 am in reply to: Did I ever tell you about the time I almost got gored by a bull? #874156smartcookieMemberSyag- that was brilliant! Luv it!
smartcookieMemberWrite or wrong. Oh my g-d. I know exactly what you mean and I unfortunately know too many roshei yeshiva and principals like that.
We are living in a world with priorities so wrong and all the wrong people at all the wrong positions.
I would write a very sharp letter to the r”y, and then PULL MY SON from that Yeshiva.
There are many small Yeshivos catering to your son’s needs. Many Yeshivahs that take each child as an individual, and work with them according to their needs. They have professional Mechanchim running the place.
It’s worth for you to begin exploring your options and placing your son where he really belongs, even if it isn’t considered a “top” Yeshiva.
Hatzlacha.
smartcookieMemberLol Goq! You gave me quite a chuckle a few times today!
smartcookieMemberWrite- this is the saddest thing I’ve heard in a long while.
Your son is hurting, he WANTS to be good.
You must make a call to the R”Y right NOW and tell him exactly what you wrote here.
He better speak to your son ASAP and apologize and make amends. He is ruining your son.
smartcookieMembersmartcookieMemberI have some tops like that. But they’re all very simple and not loud at all.
It depends on what the top looks like and much is covered by sequins.
May 3, 2012 10:03 pm at 10:03 pm in reply to: Vanishing posters. Who do you miss? Lets get them back #872641smartcookieMemberToo many for me to list. And I don’t want to omit anyone by mistake.
But some of the names above are definitely still around (fortunately)!
smartcookieMemberSyag- mazel tov, keep it up!
smartcookieMemberYou should make sure to always do things that you won’t be ashamed to to talk about. No excuses.
smartcookieMemberThank you booze, but I must inquire
Do you know me, don’t be a liar?

It is in Yiddish though. My kids loved it at that age and it really taught them the aleph bais.
smartcookieMemberMazel tov Bal Habooze! Much Nachas!
I remember the twin boy Upsherin recently. Does that make it a team of 3 boys?
G’luck!
