And how will you explain yourself to her when you do get engaged IYH and he aint no player?
smartcookieMemberJewishness- nobody disagrees with you that what the secular people do isn’t bad. But it doesn’t mean that THEY bring Tzaros to us. We can’t change them anyway. We may as well change ourselves.
All you can do is pray for them that they do Tshuva.
March 13, 2011 6:56 pm at 6:56 pm in reply to: Are you very selective in dating or do you date everyone? #749020smartcookieMemberLOL!
smartcookieMemberHappiest- does it happen out of the blue, or only specific times when it is triggered by something?
(I don’t mean to be nosy, I’m just trying to become familiar with the condition.)
smartcookieMemberObservant- the OP is specifically blaming Israeli people for their sins:
If the victims’ family members read this post, it’s horrible for them. They feel that the OP is blaming the victims even though I’m sure he isn’t blaming them.
When there’s a Tzaroh- we each have to improve OURSELVES. It’s not in place then to go around telling people who brought this Tzaroh.
(Maybe Hashem is more intolerant of our Loshon Hora/Tznius, than others’ Chilul Shabbos. We really cannot know.)
We’re all at fault and it’s up to each individual to know why.
smartcookieMemberWhat exactly do you mean by anxious? Can you give an example?
March 13, 2011 5:27 pm at 5:27 pm in reply to: Are you very selective in dating or do you date everyone? #749018smartcookieMemberCshapiro- k that’s good!
Would you care to explain how the football player joke came to be? I mean, why not a pilot or zookeeper or senator?
smartcookieMemberJewishness- now your talking a little better.
March 13, 2011 4:23 pm at 4:23 pm in reply to: If Choson C"V Loses Parent Right Before Wedding #748841smartcookieMemberGrand- I do not recall exact details. But he did have to attend in non leather sneakers. He couldn’t eat at the meal.
Dancing he was only allowed if someone shlepped him in to the circle.
March 13, 2011 4:20 pm at 4:20 pm in reply to: Are you very selective in dating or do you date everyone? #749013smartcookieMemberCshapiro- are you really serious about the football player part? (About the rich/gorgeous, I know ur serious!)
I’m wondering if that’s what you have in mind or it’s just a joke that you keep replaying here?
March 13, 2011 4:18 pm at 4:18 pm in reply to: Are you very selective in dating or do you date everyone? #749012smartcookieMemberCherrybim- that thought alone is frightening!
smartcookieMemberWhat’s an orginsashin?
March 13, 2011 3:52 pm at 3:52 pm in reply to: Are you very selective in dating or do you date everyone? #749007smartcookieMemberCshapiro- I know a rich, gorgeous, football player who’s looking for a girl.
He can sometimes be abusive, he’s very selfish, and not too bright.
Would you consider? We can switch info if yes.
😉
smartcookieMemberIf it specifically says not to open it until my bday, I wouldn’t open it.
smartcookieMemberSiht daerht edam em hgual. Dna s’ti yrev drah ot etirw sdrawkcab. :_(
smartcookieMemberEclipse- that’s a spooky lesson!
smartcookieMemberJewish- you’re comment was written in a very inappropriate timing.
You are correct in saying that Tzaros come from our sins. But you should preach this on a nice and sunny day. Not when a family is broken and in so much pain. It’s like blaming the victims for their death.
You are causing them extra pain.
When a Tzaroh comes Lo Aleinu- you just cry along and Daven, and do Tshuva privately for YOUSELF.It is NOT a time for preaching.
Besides that- are you so so stringent in Hilchos Loshon Hora? In every detail of Hilchos Shabbos? Tznius? Honoring your parents? Making Shalom? All other Mitzvohs?
We can never know which sins we are being punished for, and it’s therefore not our job to accuse people.
Everyone has to improve in their own little way. When you’ll be perfect, you’ll change the world.
smartcookieMemberBPT- true, the bad fats are still there…
I recently bought a container of natural PB in Pomegranate. Tasted like pure blended peanuts, but was very bland. For some reason it nauseated me. You can have it gladly if you wanna try it;)
smartcookieMemberBPT- thanks for making me aware. Just checked my penut butter label and I realized they omitted the corn syrup too! Happy to see.
smartcookieMemberWhat recall?
smartcookieMemberI eat choco very often at night and B”H don’t have nightmares.
As Shticky mentioned- NO chocolate would result in a nightmare!
smartcookieMemberIt is not a good matsav for a man to sit next to a dressed-up and make-uped woman,
Did you mean a “made-up” woman?
smartcookieMemberFor some reason, I would also hve a bigger problem sitting near a Frum Male, than a Non Jewish male.
Whatever the case is, I hate airplane seats too! Chlostrophobic! (Spelling?)
March 11, 2011 5:53 am at 5:53 am in reply to: If Choson C"V Loses Parent Right Before Wedding #748837smartcookieMemberMy father sat shiva when I got married. (Makes me sad to think about it.)
He was allowed to attend my wedding with certain limits and Halachos. My Sheva Brachos he wasn’t allowed to attend until Shiva was over.
My heart really went out for him.
smartcookieMemberEclipse- your subtitle looks funny. Like sonething is missing there. We gotta come up with something new for ya.
smartcookieMemberBP girl- first of all- next time you do bake- try baking bottoms coated in mayonnaise and corn flake crumbs. Much healthier and delicious.
I cook chicken a lot- line the pot with sliced onions, place chicken skin side down. Add water to cover chicken, spices.
Cook 2 hrs.
Another idea- if you have a good non stick teflon pot.
Place chicken in the pot(leave the skin on)- skin side DOWN. Don’t add a thing. Put on tiny flame and let it cook in its own water. Add a tiny water as needed.
Cook until it becomes browned and crispy.
smartcookieMemberI am here- na, I’m not that much of a smart cookie. Just liked that name. (I do think I’m smart enough to bake!)
For all those dessert pies- YUM and thank you! However, I’m looking for a pie as a side dish rather than a dessert.
The pies with different filling may be interesting, but I need to hear from someone who made it. No time for flops now!
If anyone has an idea to make a simple pie look nice/different- that’s also fine. I just don’t want to make a typical apple pie. I wanna show some effort!
smartcookieMemberWolf- I can’t help you with this, but just something for NEXT time. In the future, please arrange with them approximate timing- (approx 5 hrs, instead of 5 hrs). Will save us all some trouble.
Why don’t you go over to the “employer” and tell him if you’re 15 min break was ok?
smartcookieMember1. My young daughter asked why on pesach do we only have a seder night and dont also have a bubba night.
That is absolutely adorable!
2. When my son was very small, he asked why are the middle days of pesach called ‘challa moed’ when surely they should be called ‘matza moed’.
I think every child asks this question at some point. It really is confusing for them!
How innocent!
smartcookieMemberLOL Goq, and I thought the OP was asking about something else….
smartcookieMemberWhaaaa??? Mazel tov! And I thought you’re in Shidduchim age! May you have a lot of Nachas from her!
smartcookieMemberLOL Mbachur do nut even think so for a hole second!
smartcookieMemberLOL! I like the deer ones. (They’re so “deer” to me :P)
smartcookieMemberLOL R Shlome- I love that song!
smartcookieMemberTBT- I find this to be a common problem among many coffee roomers. It’s amazing how some people actually believe they are smartest. (AZ this is not directed to you personally.)
smartcookieMemberWhatsamatter AZ- you too smart for other threads here?
smartcookieMemberSticky- most cereals- even the healthy ones are packed with high fructose corn syrup.
Am I the only one that’s so into this? :S
smartcookieMemberBPT- not sure you’re aware of it, but most PBs have corn syrup in them.
smartcookieMemberWe are one spoiled generation not to be able to survive 1 wk without bisli…
smartcookieMemberAre we really gonna go through this again?
smartcookieMemberI guess we hit off his identity right. Where is Canine????
smartcookieMemberYunger mann- are you the new Chayav?
smartcookieMemberBPT- do you actually lick PB off a spoon????? :O
smartcookieMemberHis home # is 8454254426. He is a Chassidish man though so I’m not sure if he caters to all communities.
smartcookieMemberHey I realized too!
smartcookieMemberPhyllis- Similac is one of the best formulas out there, but the Cholov Yisroel one is very expensive.
smartcookieMemberI think BTs are better off in more modern circles anyway because their Derech isn’t as extreme as the Chassidim.
smartcookieMemberMsseeker- they all have young kids/no kids yet.
I do know one family(geirim), they became very frum, belonging to a Chassidus. The kids SEEM to be doing fine. But I wouldn’t know as a fact.
With Shidduchim you’re right, but I don’t think they’ll have it easier in a more modern surrounding.
smartcookieMemberWow! Finally a brilliant and very important thread!
smartcookieMemberMsseeker- Im just wondering what exceptions you find in Bobov and Belz?
