Saying that every girl must learn to sew is totally ridiculous ive never heard such a crazy thing in my life!
You may as well say that every boy MUST learn plumbing and joinery and electricianry because thats whats always needed in a house! I mean COME ON!!!! Sewing isnt so easy you know! (i know from personal experience i learnt sewing in school and high school and sem and i STILL cant sew!!)so thank goodness for dressmakers!
skiaddictMemberI dont understand – OF COURSE you can tell if the shirt youre wearing is mens or womens! Its cut differently and fits differently! Personally i would be totally embarrassed to be wearing a mens shirt!
skiaddictMemberDo NOT hit them out of annoyance/anger -they will remember it forever. I promise its not worth it.
skiaddictMemberOmg! Which girl in her right mind would want to dress like a man??? (except on purim-thats really cool actually, we did that in sem all the time!)
skiaddictMemberWhere does maths come in? Honestly i dont know why men feel so threatened, and get so nervous and defensive, whenever were talking about girls learning gemora or whateva.. I sometimes get the feeling like men are scared to let women learn, because they are too good at it or something.
skiaddictMemberIt is not a new phenomenon – in gemoro times already the talmidei chachomim would wear special robes and turbans to identify them as such.
skiaddictMemberAnd there are lots of styles that are plenty provocative, and worn to be provocative.
November 20, 2011 5:09 pm at 5:09 pm in reply to: Is it wrong for bochurim not to learn all the time? #1122562skiaddictMemberBut not working more than learning? And only married men who need to support their wives it seems!
November 20, 2011 4:39 pm at 4:39 pm in reply to: Is it wrong for bochurim not to learn all the time? #1122556skiaddictMemberIm only comparing learning to tznius because i have heard many times that its the equivalent for girls. In any case can someone just explain why then did Hashem give the mitzva o learn yomam velayla if people cant do it? What does it say in Chagiga 6b?So why do rebeim tell boys to work? maybe just because they know they are hopeless? Please explain about Yissachar and Zevulun- i heard from the chofetz chaim that although a person works, he must learn at least 8 hours still or something.
Yeah i know that a lot of people pretend to be learning but are wasting their time and that may be worst, but at least they recognize where they should be-no? Honestly im not trying to knock anyone i seriously dont understand, and i hope people who are in that position can explain.
skiaddictMemberRabbi Avigdor Miller is absolutely terrific, i read tons of his books and he really makes issues such as evolution very clear – read them and you will not have any more questions – i guarantee! I used to be very skeptical and had tons of questions, and reading his books made everything so clear and the torah hashkofo made so much sense, whilst the theories and evolution ideas were so clearly rubbish! He brings scientific proofs and quotes famous theorists to clearly show how evolution is made up and doesnt make sense.
skiaddictMemberI love the way how on CR if anyone tries to say anything bad about some sections of Jews (eg MO!!!) the whole thread gets shut down and everyone is saying how sick it is to bash yiden and we should all accept our differnces – NK are yiden too and no one can dare deny that!
skiaddictMemberand hugged and kissed him…
skiaddictMemberbut he meant it for real i dont get what you meaan. anyway it still proves my point. whatever.. whoever wants to see will see if you want to not think, no prob its your loss!!
skiaddictMemberpopa is a troll
skiaddictMemberok il tell u some that i know… a man whos active in nk was in a train station and suddenly a guy starteed screaming at him hey you filthy zionist murderer etc so this man went over to him and told him hey im actually on the way back from some pro palestine conference and he told him about nk well the guy was dead impressed and said sorry i didnt ralize that some jews are also against those bloody zionists and he shook hands and was so nice after. this type of thing happens all the time with nk activists, and they get so many emails from arabs, which i have sseen, all starting- i am a muslim and i hated all jews i thought all of them were evil but i came across your website/saw you on tv/saw you at rallies/attended a rally which you also paarticipated in, and you opened my eyes to see that jews are not necessarily zionists and there are a lot of you who support us and thanx for being a spark of light in this crazy situation with israel, peace onto you… these are real words (from my memory) which i have seen. the arab leaders themselves have told nk how much they appreciate them, and realise the diference between jew and zionist, BASICALLY i cant think of everything off the top of my head but its pretty clear that they are at least lessening anti semitism which we should be grateful for- if anyone knows of them causing anti semitism i would love to hear. its the zionists who are the cause of all anti semitism in the world if not for them the gedolim all said moshiach would alreadyhave come.
skiaddictMemberif you hate neturei karta then you are being quite hypocritical. i somhow have a feeling that you do not personally know anyone from nk and have just based opinions on media and public opinion. i know ppl who are very active in nk and believe me they are the kindest most sincere ppl i know who love their fellow jews and really mean everything they do for the right reasons and they do NOT love the arabs its just an outward show to calm the arabs down, and they have succeeded on a big scale i could tell u lots of stories if you want. they have ddas torah and it is a pure issur min hatorah to hate your fellow jew and that is a fact you cant argue with. so if you dont accept their views then just ignore, and think to yourself if you are doing anything better for Hashems sake!they are not doing it for attention believe me they get such tzoros from it.
skiaddictMemberthey are very good people who sincerely do everything lshaim shomaim they do not hate jews and they do not love arabs although lots of ppl claim they do because its more convenient for them. the satmar rebbe actually was even more extreme for anyone who has ever read his seforim, what neturei karta say and do now is totally nothing compared to what he writes what his views are, and the satmar rebbe had tremendous ahavas yisroel and all the gedolim considered him a very holy man and tsadik. if ppl dont understand the good that neturei karta do in defending the honour of Hashem, they should research and go into it because its wrong to just believe the media and ignorant ppl who themselves have zionist leanings…the truth is always the most fought against…
September 6, 2011 8:38 pm at 8:38 pm in reply to: why do girl/boys blush at the opposite gender? #806175skiaddictMembermyrabbi once told me that the reason Hashem made it that opposite genders will blush one reason is that they will b embarrassed to do stupid things because they will end up blushing- i know that doesnt always work but he said that its a gift from Hashem when you are like that because it stops you from flirting etc
skiaddictMemberthe reason why the whole thing is a question is because women dont really understand why they are wearing skirts and are wearing skirts that are worst than pants so on those women yeah its a question- why are you wearing skirts in the first place?
skiaddictMemberwhere i live its considered like your trying to become more modern if you wear bobby pins, like some guys think that its a whole cool look, and those type of guys are generally more easy with halacha in general, and trying to be dead cool in not such a good way.
skiaddictMemberi dont get it! in lots of places eg the thing you put into a newborns crib it has a hamsa so it must be in the sifrei kabbala(although i have never learnt it obviously)but im sure it must be from kabbala- it is such a jewish symbol! also i have another question- how come all this hamsa jewelry is much more popular with non frum ppl than with frum?
July 30, 2011 10:00 pm at 10:00 pm in reply to: What happens after they leave for Shul Friday night. #792216skiaddictMemberyeah well that happens the other way round also i can tell you!
July 30, 2011 9:51 pm at 9:51 pm in reply to: Kabbalist Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira Stabbed To Death #792376skiaddictMemberi heard someone say that now in israel, lives are cheap, soldiers die all the time, there is constant war and casualties, and he linked it to this weeks parsha that there were same amount of orei miklot on both sides of the yarden, because the ones out of eretz yisrael were much more lenient with killing ppl, so they were also careless with leavving things around that will cause accidental death, because they didnt value human lives, (hope i got that right) so too in israel lives are cheap, and ppl dont think too much about murdering others…
skiaddictMemberdoes anyone do the red thread? or the yad that protects you from ayin hora?or the eye?
skiaddictMembereveryone- i contacted Neturei Karta to ask them how they could burn food, and that they are supporting the state by buying boxes to burn? They emailed me back, and il share the answer –
Hi
You pose an interesting question, to which the answer, I should have thought, is self evident. Nonetheless I will attempt to explain the issue.
Thank you
Rabbi E Beck
skiaddictMemberits kinda cold here in england- maybe you can send over some of your heat- it would be VERY welcome!
skiaddictMemberI dont really get your point. yeah skiing is a blast!
skiaddictMemberall i know is that hungarians make the best food!!!(my gran)
skiaddictMemberso you may as well share it..
skiaddictMemberive never had an issue with shabos prob cos im still pretty young, but there are SO many things i give up on a day to day basis because i want to stay frum and do what Hashem wants- every single yid gives up things all the time, and i really get so inspired when i hear personal stories, however ‘small’ because it can be so difficult.
Actually, there was a time, couple of months ago when there was an event going on friday night and i was pretty desperate to watch it, i knew places where they would have it live on TV but at the last minute i stopped myself from going to watch on shabbos- i watched it later online, and it was an amazing feeling!
skiaddictMemberreally really i do know what the problem is- its always motsa shabbos that i cant sleep and its because ive slept half of shabbos…!
does seriously no one else have that prob? i just cant give up my long shabbos afternoon shluff and i often sleep in in the mornings also(im a girl so no prob about shul!)
i know i really should make more of an effort to be awake on shabbos but seriously, after the meal all i can think of is my bed!
what do you all do about that?
July 24, 2011 4:53 am at 4:53 am in reply to: AAAARRRGGHH!!!! Why do you know my business???? #822198skiaddictMemberits part of belonging to the frum world. its dead annoying when everyone knows everything about you ive had too much experience of that myself 🙁 but its still worth it to belong to the frum community i think!
skiaddictMemberive already drunk too much this shabbos so prob not a good idea derech! sender- that made me laugh!!!ok yid youre right- im just switching between a few websites and its crazy – good idea about listening to a shiur its pretty funny but it makes most sense, do you do that often?!
okay thanks and see you all tomorow!!
skiaddictMemberbecause theres things from my friends that i dont really want anyone to see… not necessarily bad stuff but not the type that i would want to share- nothing to do with trust.
Not the same thing but like you dont want to share a personal diary even with ppl you trust..
skiaddictMemberi would not share my email password with my parents because i wouldnt want them to see my things- i would share it with my friends if they wanted to know so i guess it might be the same with my husband when i get him…pin codes are totally different and i often give it to my parents because obviously they are not gonna steal!
skiaddictMembermikehall- i guess when you really have nothing to say you laugh…in any case im glad i made you laugh but really its not a joke- listen this is not the place to argue about the pros and cons of NT but like daasYochid said, why bash other yiden especially if you dont know their motives etc..
skiaddictMemberi mean .org
skiaddictMemberi actually have seen a lot of positive come from netureei karta with my own eyes i have read many letters from muslims and pro palestinians sent to NK where they tell how they hated all jews and would spit on the street every time they would see one, and after seeing or attending anti zionist rallies and seeing orthodox jews sympathising with them they realized that not all jews are evil and they are much more favourably disposed of jews now- instead of spewing out hatred at members of klal yisroel whether or not you agree with them, how about researching and finding out exactly how much good they are actually doing for the yiden! they are definatly lessening the anti semitism in the world that is a fact- and you just shout at them?
skiaddictMembermy friend just told me that levi aron is not even jewish but his mom is really his stepmum and his real one isnt jewish- is that a hopeful fantasy or true? does anyone know?
skiaddictMemberhey who?
skiaddictMemberi once heard that the way yani’s music works is that they record horrific sounds such as a baby having surgery without anasthetic and lions eating wolves etc and they change it digitally to make it into a musical sound. such things are not what our neshomos can stand to listen to, so since i heard that im much more careful about what music i hear.
skiaddictMemberI take a bunch of little boys swimming often-get them ready, then there is two men who go in the pool with them but its part of my job to stay near the pool, and watch the kids incase any of them want to come out early or whatever. I dont find it a problem but some of my friends are totally shocked that i would sit by the pool when there are men there. I cant really decide whats right- maybe i should ask a rov?
