People today are machmir for no reason. They try to be frummer than the next guy.

The first Belzer Rebbe did not brok. His mother did. They ate soup from the same plate, with his mother eating the kneidlach and he leaving them for her. Who would do such a thing now? I guess the Belzer Rebbe was not frum…

If you are in your late 80s-early 90s then its quite normal for your feet to have shrunk. You’ve nothing to worry about. But if you meant you were born in late 80s-early 90s then you have not widened the range. Thats also ten years but I do not know anyone that age who has this problem. Are you sure you really were a 7.5 and were not measured wrongly?

Hmm. Very good question. I do not have an immediate answer but will see what I can find out should nobody else beat me to it. Is it anything to do with the fact that we have begun mashiv haruach umorid hageshem (which actually is not a request for rain but a title for H’ who controls wind and rain, otherwise we would wait till 7 Cheshvan for this also)?

Look on the bright side… You might get that glass slipper on yet!

I have never heard of going down shoe sizes like that besides very old people like in their 70s start shrinking, which is very far from your age. Otherwise no. To give me a better picture, please tell me what decade you were born in

Just a further sign that I’m a horrible person

Wolf you can easily dispel that myth by sending me your unwanted and unused silver case. ☺

Why do you keep running yourself down so much recently. I’m concerned about you. You have a great following here in the coffeeroom. You are among the top 3 posters ever. Then for a while you disappeared and since you came back you havent seemed to like yourself. What’s going on in your life? Is it something you can share without compromising Jothar’s security rules? Maybe we can help. Lets start a wolf fan club and show him what he is, the chessed he has told us that he does, the golden middos he has displayed in many threads. I’m gonna begin a wolf fan club thread right now. Please will everyone post on it. Thank you

Sensational talent being shown here. These poems are oustanding!

Thanks to middlepath, the goq, princesseagle etc for your compliments – I havent checked this thread for a while.

Saysme your posts are amazing. I can see why you and others express yourselves in poetry. And thanks for the happy poem you wrote!!

Lets cheer things up a little with a Pesach poem:

    THE PESACH CLEANING QUESTIONNAIRE

    In order for this questionnaire

To work the way it should,

    You must be very honest

    As I know you would.

    Go through the questions-

    One, two and three,

    Think each one through

    Very thoroughly.

    1. How many times

    In the past year

    Have you served supper

    In the chandelier?

    An easy task

    Seating the whole family

    On the fixture all around

Making sure that place up there

    For every kid was found.

The serving must have also been

    Not an easy feat;

    Getting portions up on top

    For every child to eat.

In the end, when all was done

So now for Pesach you must start

    Scrubbing your chandelier!

    ******************************************

    2. How often have you served

Your guests some food and drink

    In the mirrored cupboard

    Above your bathroom sink?

    It must have been embarrassing

    Trying to fit in,

Especially if the guest you had

    Were not really that thin!

In the end, I hope they liked

    Your hosting, nonetheless,

But now you found the leftovers

And must clean up the mess.

    ******************************************

    3. Just several weeks ago

Did you have an urgent feeling

To serve the Seuda on Purim

    Upon the kitchen ceiling?

You must have used electric tape

    Or maybe crazy glue

For everything to stick up there,

    A real venahapoch hu!

In the end you all jumped down

And the ceiling you must clean!

    If you have answered ‘yes’

    To any of these three,

Then go ahead and puff and pant

And be as busy as you can be!

    But if you answered negative

    Then stop fooling around,

    And look for chametz only

Where it really can be found!!!

    ?????????????????????????????????????????????

    HAPPY PESACH (CLEANING) EVERYONE!!

    Do they still cook?

because of their hormones, many women can koch much more than usual during pregnancy.

Of all the shalom bayis books and choson lessons, all you must remember is two words: common sense. Give what you do thought and then a little more thought. Put yourself in your spouse’s shoes and do things genuinely for them. A woman loved is a woman happy. So if she feels she cant cook due to tiredness or that smells bother her or any of the many other weird and wonderful reasons, smile and say its ok. Wouldnt you want her to say the same to you if you were feeling bothered and rotten for a long period of time. Old fashioned caring for each other rides above all.

A huge Hi to Joe The Plumber who we know is taking time out of his busy schedule to be with us. We appreciate it! And also to the wittily-named always on thyme. Are you a yekke by any chance? Not that it matters. Just thought I’d ask. (I can hear the purim story’s “big dill, big dill” in the background). Oh I know you… you’re ginger aren’t you! Well its good to have you on board and even better to hear from you after 8 months!

Feif and midwesterner hats off to you. I know I was not really one of the first ten. I was just using a non-poetic license and was hoping to bait out some oldies who are the only ones who could comment about bygone years. Thank goodness some of them have bitten. Lets see if any others do.

Great thread idea goq and I remember enjoying it when you started it, but oongalukshen… its kind of a hard word to play with.

But maybe ‘oonga’ is Swahili for pudding, so are you talking about lukshen-pudding?

Or, second attempt, do you know that really tall, thin guy called L. oongalukshen?

Not to eat potatoes ‘just in case’ is wrong. Plain wrong. I know some people wont even drink water unless its been passed by a rabbi. But not to eat potatoes is crazy. The whole kitniyos thing is already a chumra. Taking on ‘stupid chumras like that’ (words of my LOR) of not eating potatoes place undue pressure on the entire family.
