Me? Joking? Dont insult me please. I’m a very serious guy.
Shticky GuyParticipantRandom question – why do all kids that I have observed when playing on a trampoline always jump clockwise? Is it a righty/lefty thing or do they all do it? Or do lefties jump counter clockwise?
May 1, 2012 11:20 am at 11:20 am in reply to: Did I ever tell you about the time I almost got gored by a bull? #874124Shticky GuyParticipantarwsf I think that bull was a politician so it came charging at you thinking “al gore her”!
It must have been a pretty large barn if it had an isle within it. Unless, of course, you meant an aisle. What a load of bulloney. A real scary tail to be sure. With the bull contemplating charging at you and thinking dairy charge or dairy not charge. No grey areas, everything only in black and white. How you escaped nobody nose. The bull could have been after the two calves it could see on your side of the gate…! I’m not sure why you felt the need to ruminate this story but I’m pleased to see you here in any event. Post here more often. Dont be a cow-ard.
Shticky GuyParticipantIf a certain beloved poster returns here it will be ‘a real simcha iy’ hashem
the new british highway that just opened likavod the most frequently posting mod here had red carpet rolled out along it in his honor and so was known as ‘red motorway 42’
being addicted to both coffee and the coffee room was too much for one poster. The ‘co-effect did a’way with him, unfortunately
after they realized that nuts brought for nosh were discoloring their school bags, whenever a brown stain appeared on a bag, the kids exclaimed ‘O! egoiz dye’
the General Headquarters were very cramped leading many employees to develop a limp in what was referred to as ‘GHQ toe’
on hearing a good joke I tell the person to ‘tel gez 1’
Shticky GuyParticipantI dont know if he is descended from dovid hamelech or not, but I heard that his driver was called ‘chauffeur shel moshiach’
Shticky GuyParticipantThank you
Shticky GuyParticipantBump. Whats his current matzav? Can anyone please update. Thank you.
Shticky GuyParticipantShticky GuyParticipantI’m sure he thanks Hashem more that he was not born when you were!
Shticky GuyParticipantI went into a shul today mid morning for a minute to take something in, and it was deserted. The only person there was a man in his seventies being maavir sedra in the back row. What a beautiful sight to behold.
Slowly and peacefully, with complete tranquility, he was lovingly saying the words. Without disturbances. Without worries. Without phone calls (could be he does not even own a cell phone). Without text messages. Without emails. It was seemed obvious he felt that he could not be disturbed.
By contrast, many of us nowadays are rushing all over the place and even when we do sit to learn or to begin doing something, we do not have the tranquil state of mind that this man had. Rush, rush, rush, rush, rush. Grabbing something to eat while on the phone, replying to emails and answering our kids all at the same time. We have so many labor saving devices but we are an instant-reply required society so we pressure ourselves to fit too much into too short a time, without being able to enjoy any of it or relax.
So I ask you, who has it better?

April 27, 2012 6:27 am at 6:27 am in reply to: Who In The CR Should Get "CR Smicha" By Now? #1211772Shticky GuyParticipantZeesKite I sometimes do that when the CR is a little stale and boring and I’m looking for a few good threads to inject to change that. I did it yesterday also with the Sefiras Ha’omar game, the s(h)morgasbord thread and a couple of others.
Shticky GuyParticipantWhat else was better in the good old days?
Shticky GuyParticipantBump to a thread with some great thoughts in, my favorite is ken zayn’s. Can anyone add to this?

It is what we call a poster whose screen name ends with the letter ‘q’. Can you think of any others?
Shticky GuyParticipant19:
The number of brachos in ????? ????.
The number of years in a leap-year cycle
(good old eclipse wrote last year… the number of beer bottles left on the wall after 20!)
Shticky GuyParticipantMike very nicely written. Anything to strengthen ahavas yisrael is a worthy objective.
EVERY Jew has a neshama, whether ffb, bt, dati, chiloni, shomer/mechalel shabbos, gadol hador or otd. We are ALL and equally banim lamakom! The fact that some of us are nearer to our father in heaven than others does not make us any more a son than them. We may just be a better son. And what could be more pleasing to any father than for someone to bring his children back onto the path he wants them to tread. But brothers we remain nonetheless. And we should treat each other as such. Which means not to look down on those who live a different lifestyle to us but to try to be mikarev them if we feel this is necessary AND TO SHOW TRUE LOVE TO ALL JEWS IN ALL SITUATIONS. Halivay!

Welcome back kitzur_dot_net. You’ve been idle for 3 years! Hows the kitzur website doing? Funnily enough, your last post 3 years ago was about closing the coffee room.

Strange. As my kids grow older, my back pocket appears to be shrinking
Shticky GuyParticipantWrite a novel and became a billionaire like JK Rowling, then popa_bar-abba will marry you.
That must be inside information. I never knew that popa and JK Rowling got married
Shticky GuyParticipantI just added a bag of mini marshmellos to the chocolate chip cookie dough I made. First batch is almost gone
Sounds just like my house. You did not say that you succeeded in getting the dough into the oven. So I assume that when you said the first batch is almost gone you meant eaten raw off the tray on the kitchen side. As I said, sounds just like my house! The stomach pains are so worth it!! Mmmmm.

Shticky GuyParticipantDont forget greevin!
Shticky GuyParticipantI have heard of and even tried most of the above ingredients in my cholent and enjoyed them all. It also depends a lot on whether you use gas or electric to heat it, how long it is on the heat for, and how much liquid you have in it (yekkish borne zuppe or chassidish stodge).
These are all ideas for a GOOD cholent. For a SUCCESSFUL cholent however there is but one factor: having none or at least limited kiddushim in the neighborhood on shabbos morning… ☺ ☺ ☺
Shticky GuyParticipantnot a mod: that has already been invented – by dr middos…
Truth is it really HAS been invented. Its the yetzer hatov. This is what calls us and warns us every time we do something that we shouldnt. If only we would listen out for it more and follow it.
Shticky GuyParticipantBMG freezer
Shticky GuyParticipantGreat story Rosally that goes to show what is common knowledge that the prayer for finding lost objects really works. It is tried and tested. I would use it more often but I cannot always find the prayer… ☺

April 21, 2012 11:38 pm at 11:38 pm in reply to: How did the Israelis enjoy their 8 day Pesach? #869413Shticky GuyParticipantSomeone in shul said that the ?????? ????? , an old sfardi sefer, gives a reason why we catch up with ??? ????? by ??? ?????? and not earlier.
He says why do still keep 2 days ??? ??? nowadays if we no longer have a ??? when ??? ???? was? Its because we should not change something done for centuries even if the reason is no longer applicable. So really we could keep only one day like ??? ????? who keep the correct day. If so, why should ??? ????? bend toward ??? ???? and split sedras? They are ok, so they should continue until they come to a reason why they must split sedras for themselves – which is ??? ??????, because ??????? we should lein ????? (and preferably ??? also) just before ??????, so then they split ??? ?????? to achieve this. But they do not split earlier for the convenience of ??? ????.
And anyways, he says, even if they would split at the earliest chance, they would not do so at ????? ????? as this would prolong the reading of ???? of ????? which is not ideal, so the earliest possible split would be ???? ??? ??????.
Shticky GuyParticipantAnonymous post ☺

Shticky GuyParticipantMatzos are called lechem oni
But look at the price – it’s baloney
They are so expensive
Making us apprehensive
So no wonder they make us so moany
They are called the bread of the poor
Cause they leave you with much less money than before
The dough must not rise
But the price? Lets be wise
Every year it does rocket and soar
April 19, 2012 9:45 pm at 9:45 pm in reply to: who would you say is the most intelligent CR poster? #870141Shticky GuyParticipantMod 88: LOL!
Shticky GuyParticipantA friend of mine had a virtual band fitted thru hypnosis and he’s lost so much weight. But it plays havoc with trying to eat the shiur of matzo on seder night within toch zman achilas pras. He cant do it.
April 18, 2012 6:38 am at 6:38 am in reply to: How did the Israelis enjoy their 8 day Pesach? #869402Shticky GuyParticipantKitniyos and egg matzos are not chometz. If you had matzos and not challos over shabbos and mainly pesach food (presumably with pesachdig pots and dishes) then you basically kept pesach for 8 days!
Regarding the other point, why do we not split sedras at the first possible opportunity to allow the rest of the world to catch up to eretz yisrael sooner. Why are they leining a double sedra this week and not only tazria?
Shticky GuyParticipantI only post double on Purim
Shticky GuyParticipantOk Nechama, whatever you say Nechumelle
Shticky GuyParticipantMazeltov kapusta! Yes at the young age of four, those two days make a big difference…
Shticky GuyParticipantJosh31: LOL! Thats a great line!
