in reply to: Israeli shopping websites #970356

You gotta find an israeli guide telling u where to go….

Or just get stuff from america, period

in reply to: Song Lyrics #1155224

Anyone can write some lyrics to Nechama Cohen’s heartbeat album??? They arent on her website yet….

in reply to: Why do you believe in Science? #976679

I don’t, I beleive Hashem made the world with a bunch of unrational rules that he can of course break and that we dont understand them and arent supposed to and a bunch of idiots get paid millions a year to make up “reasonable answers and theries” like the big bang theory….

    in reply to: Heartbeat #990726

Ya ik!!!!!! Her songs are amazing for teens! 20 and singing, composing AND writing lyrics….OMG, that takes some real talent! Her album only came out last week and its instantly popular (no surprise there)

in reply to: Israeli shopping websites #970354

Israeli things suck, american things are overprised, and you need to know how to bargain, plus israeli store workers lie…ALOT you need to see something in writing before you beleive it

“So ummm…. until when can I return this peice of gold jewlery”

    “2weeks”

    “U SURE?”

    “Of course!”

    *buys it*

    (3days later)

    “I want to return this”

” sorry, 24 hour return policy only”

    “SINCE WHEN?”

    “Since the store opened

    (True story btw)

Plus in most cases, you cant even return at all. Most stores do not let returns there

Ya, Im OBBSESSED WITH HER!!!! Ok, music for teens these days is at an all time low, so they turn to goyishe music. But Nechama Cohen’s album is EXACTLY what teens are looking for! Its personal and most songs you will feel were written just for you!

Thays a good quote, I havent bpught an album yet, but Ive lostened to 5 different preveiws and 5 different websites and downloaded all her movies from youtube and half them on repeat.

    i SO agree!

in reply to: How do YOU pronounce…. #970806

    1. Nich

    4. Grand prix

in reply to: Please advise me re: how to handle power struggles #970613

    1. Did you try asking????

Tell CPS that you arent comfortable with the person you were given and would appreciate someone else. If they ask why, either tell them that you two aren’t getting along because she has a very (insert adjective here) personality, and it’s causing problems. Or that it has to do with she dosen’t get the whole jewish thing (assuming she isn’t jewish, since you used the word christen) and that it’s hard to coaperate with someone who thinks you are strange and weird for living you’re religion.

I really don’t know exavtly what you mean by CPS and the situation, but asking is ussually a first try at a solution.

You arent supposed to coaperate with her? Shes supposed to take notes? Than tell CPS the same thing (my solution above) and wgen they tell you she is just supposed to take notes, then play inoccent “REALLY???? All she does is (insert whatever she does ex. Making comments about things that are none of her buisness or bossing your kids around) I barely ever see her writing notes down! And it’s really not working out, maybe I can have someone who will treat me and my kids a little nicer?”

All in all, Good Luck! Hope everything works out!

in reply to: All the Rainbows #970118

Well the world is pretty messed up today, in general. With everyone trying to kill us, nuclear bombs, W4W and WOW, and everyone revolting in a bunch of different countries, and we can’t foeget the starving children in africa, can we? And the really sad thing about all of this: NONE OF ITS NEW!!!!!!! If I were the creator of this world, Id also be pretty upset on how it turned out…..unless he wanted it like this…how should we know?

Dont take a rainbow as a personal sign, i just thought it was a reminder how he wont destroy the world, not that when you see one he actually is THINKING about destroying it……

in reply to: Which middah should be worked on first? #970216

Wow, i feel for her, I hope her life gets better and the mods decide to let her back.

WIY: I totally agree with you, but for most people, they need something like that will actually be doable in a month, just cuz like its one of the 10 commandments dosen’t mean that it’s something doable for everyone. Cuz, like dosent the Torah say that you can always improve??? So then I’d havta commit my life to the 10 commandments, no? So I think it’s also OK to focus on what is really needed to be worked on…..

If you want to work on apprciation and middos more, the books: Gifts for teens and More Gifts for Teens are very very helpful and inspiring, though it seems the books are meant for a more feminine audience, but I really recommend them! If you flip through the chapters at your local judaica store, you’ll see what different things it helps you with, I remember a few from my book: The gift of Appreciation, The gift of Happiness,The gift of Everything is for the best, The gift of Friendship, The gift of Shabbos, The gift of Yom Tov, The Gift of a good (and early) morning (getting up on time/early, very helpful chapter) this is just a few.

in reply to: Shwekey's Mi Sheberach song in Nokia #985756

I think i saw that album in Yesh….the funny thing about it was that it said on the album SPECIFICALLY that it was only availible in Yesh supermarkets…..weird….

in reply to: Should I get help from my teacher? #969767

Go, contrary to the popular american beleif that everyone should hate teachers and mock them behind their back, teachers are older and wiser and will help without disclosing any information to anyone (if its a good teacher)

My teachers hlwere very helpful to me this past year! Go for it!

in reply to: How Crazy Dangerous Is This? #972419

Id think id like to meet all the other teens and grandmothers who post here

in reply to: Shwekey's Mi Sheberach song in Nokia #985754

If itz SOOOOO unbeleivible, why should i beleive it?

in reply to: Which middah should be worked on first? #970207

Happiness is a great middah! I actually need to work on that too. Are you reading a book or hearing a shuir online about working on it? If so, can you recommend something for me?

in reply to: Which middah should be worked on first? #970206

Is she the one who introduced you to the CR? Send her regards from me, and that I’d wish she’d be in the CR more often…

in reply to: Medicine to become a gadol #969794

Gamanit, the medicine still can have side affects and affect a person’s body, such as their weight and height and a person’s personality.

in reply to: Which middah should be worked on first? #970196

    1. WELCOME! Its always nice to have another new member!

    2. I don’t know you at all, but you know yourself. Which middah is the one you have the most trouble with and pops up in your life pretty often? That’s the middah you should work on.

in reply to: An interesting Shabbos guest, and thoughts on Rosh Hashanah #969533

Is like a cult or whatever, it twists them into thinking its right. Truly, ever disowning a child is wrong unless the parent-child relashenship is harmful in some way, then, even then, tge children should not be disowned, they should try to make thing better and if its not possible, than stop talking or avoid each other. I read a story about how a single mother was too dependant on one of her kids and all the rabanim and doctors told her the best thing would be to cut off contact for 10 YEARS! It was really sad, the story said so far 7 years have passed and she is still waiting out the rest.

Children even as they are adults need utmost love no matter what. Even if they go OTD or want to serve their country.

in reply to: Getting rid of hiccups #969743

Dont breath out of your mouth for as long as it takes them to stop, but keep ur mouth open. Works for me after 10 seconds tops. I learned the method cuz my hiccups are embarrasingly, Extremely loud.

in reply to: Boys can't be so picky: A shidduch crisis solution! #969990

I found the link to the clip and watched it, it came out, I think 2-3 weeks ago and got 35,000 hits so far. If the so called ‘Shidduch crisi’ isnt because of this, than what IS the reason?

in reply to: Pedestrian's Revenge #970230

When you have a really bad day or when others treat you badly, try to treat the world better than it treated you.

in reply to: Bored at work #1135404

Tecnically, you aren’t getting paid to post here, but these days it is hard to find a worker somewhere in a store who is not working while they are checking facebook or email. If your boss will see and get mad, then don’t, if not and you go immidiatly to a customer and py attention to them the same, why not?

in reply to: Potential yichud situation at work #970528

    in reply to: Plus 1,000 Years… #969353

in reply to: What's the Idea of Creating New Threads #969173

in reply to: What do YOU think is the most important part of a song and why? #969164

    You mean like the tune?

    in reply to: Plus 1,000 Years… #969345

Would you like to live an extra a 1000 years as a madman in jail who has no family he can remember cuz they all died and he dosent know their grandchildren? I think not.

in reply to: Potential yichud situation at work #970503

I don’t know much about yichud, I really need to look it up. But SaysMe, 1 on 1 with an oppisite gender is definetly yichud, there are itger types too, but 1 on 1 no doubt you need to keep a door open or have someone else there.

Wasnt there a story about a non-jewish dentist left with a jewish patient and during her treatment gave her a tranqulizer and…………ya, I bet you can guess what he did after.

In the end the found the dentist and got him arrested, but only after he had done this to a few patients.

Something could happen, what if she dosent tell you she’s leaving and your patient goes out cuz he forgot something and sees she’s gone????? You have to actually have someone there…..

    in reply to: You're so vain… #969574

Plus this place is for everyone, even if most people here were modern that would be ok, everyone has their own level, don’t make them shoot up to yours when they aren’t ready.

in reply to: What's the Idea of Creating New Threads #969171

in reply to: Haredi fighting spirit #968973

Looks like Popa’s got some fighting spirit too.

in reply to: What's the Idea of Creating New Threads #969166

New threads are fresher and talk about things that are related to today, not four years ago. Its annoying to have to read through 50 pages of the OTD thread to understand one sentance when you are new….

in reply to: Going off the Derech #1183292

No it sounds like a cult or something, dont judge b4 u r in their shoes.

    in reply to: ?? ????? ???????? #969212

Back to the topic, maybe we can have virtual ulpan lessons or something, or do a thread in hebrew every day for those who want to practice and learn. Plus we can all fix each other’s mistakes! Whaddya say?

The buses skipped over Ramat Beit all today due to Chareidim throwing rocks and stones at every passing bus to protest against the arrest. This I know is true, I know people who skipped over it today.
