shnitzyMemberHere on the Cr. In front of your very nose.
shnitzyMemberThe Alzheimer buggies, she seems to imply. (I agree)
Realtalk, There are four key factors in preventing alzheimers:
1. Specific brain stimulation
2. Proper brain nutrition
3. Getting enough physical exercise and rest
4. Avoiding dementia risk factors
Specific brain stimulation,#1, is fulfilled by brain games. How? In order to achieve #1 properly, one must follow these principles: Work directly with the most impaired areas of brain function (usually memory), the brain cells in this region must be actively stimulated (engaged to respond thereby strengthening and adding connections to the brain cell circuitry), increasing the stimulation in a programmed manner (thereby forcing the brain to adapt to the new demands placed on it), begin at a level where you can succeed, and increase the difficulty in small increments (building up).
Brain games are, by definition, created to fulfill these requirements.
This should not however be taken to mean that if one plays brain games they will never get Alzheimers. One must take into account the other three factors as well.
Capiche?
