September 20, 2011 1:02 pm at 1:02 pm in reply to: Where There’s A Will, There’s A Violation What The Torah Wants? #812356shmoelMemberHow can you transfer property effective a moment prior to death? You can’t determine or know when death will occur and thus can’t time the transfer to take place prior to death. And once death occurred, it is no longer the deceased’s to transfer. At that point the property belongs to the inheritors.
shmoelMemberYes, call and ask if they own it or how to get in touch.
shmoelMemberI think Mountain Food in the Catskills is owned by Moisha’s and the Kollel Store.
shmoelMemberI don’t understand. Vacinating benefits other people rather than the person who vacinates? (i.e. The person himself derives no *direct* benefit?)

shmoelMemberWhy not?
shmoelMemberDoes the fact that you (usually) don’t know whose signal it is, and if it is a majority nochri area it is probably not a yehudis, factor into whether it is assur?

shmoelMemberShul with a Sefer Torah or making a minyan in someones house for convenience?
shmoelMemberIf I understand correctly, Halacha states (as we pasken) that a man can give a get for any reason. But a woman cannot demand one for any reason.
Doesn’t Cherem Rabbeinu Gershom prevent a man from giving a get without his wife’s consent? But that would only be applicable to Ashkenazim. Sefardim, Teimanim and others wouldn’t have that restriction.
