For example ever a passenger in a car where the driver is going mighty fast and swervy- and you automatically press down with your foot as if on the break but you are not in control so you cant really do a thing a bout it no matter how hard you press your foot…

for the sake of it… tonights halacha on rechilus: Even if you are being pressured to say it you MAY NOT reveal the info. And this is even if its your mother, father, boss, or other important person SO MUCH SO THAT YOU NEED TO BE WILLING TO GIVE UP YOUR JOB instead of saying the rechilus, how much more so if it wont cost you your job.
Its amazing how chamur it is, yet its so easy to slip it by!

Well, actually brook, to tell you the truth I was beginning to doubt you can handle anything I mean afterall you’ve seemed unable to handle some of life’s sitch so I thought i would step in there and defend you… 😉 but if it makes you happy I’ll try not to do what I do best (budding into ppl’s conversations to add my two cents… hehe) and I’ll just stand on the side lines with my mouth shut tight(as if that were possible) and watch like an innocent onlooker.

Learning shmiras halashon really helps… it doesnt happen overnight but I cant tell you how many times I have caught myself and held back recently!!!!

Even if you use it for good things, you need to be Extra careful. So many have fallen under because of it and that is why our Gedolim are smart and try to prevent more tragedies from happening. and dont tell me it doesnt happen Because I personally know people that killed their lives from it… and it all started with a littel boredom or having fun. I can throw up thinking about it!
If you have kids, even if you use it for good things… they may not. And if you protect it from them, let them be aware that you dont use it for bad things or they may think you are twofaced if you dont let them use it but you do.
It is so dangerous. Its not like any other sitch where you just adapt. Again, it has its mailos too.

gawker… I hear what you are taining, however internet is not so simple like some of the other things that you mentioned. True there is Yetzer Hara involved in all the challenges that we have to pick through to run our lives and anyone can fall if not trying to prevent it. But internet has so many extra dangers to it that even the most heilige Yid can succumb to!
Especially because it’s a private thing. If you go to a store… people will see if you buy not tznius clothing. If you go swimming, it’s a matter of interaction, you’d get a really bad shem if you went mixed. But when it comes to internet, you can be so frum and everyone sees you as so frum, yet its all in privacy of you your self and the internet (and Hashem of course… but it’s easy to forget that!)
I know myself, I have no agenda to get involved in Tumah of the internet out there. And yet advertisements come in your face, or little things that are not so bad may start off yet it can turn to alot worse.

Well I’ll post from the sefer I am learning the day that I am up to:
RECHILUS (causing bad feelings between ppl) IS FORBIDDEN EVEN WHEN
A) YOU WRITE THE INFO B) YOU AGREE WITH THE INFO C) YOU WOULD REPEAT IT IN FRONT OF THE SPEAKER.
for example: Baruch tells you “Your brother is so selfish. He never does a favor for me when I ask him to!” It is assur to repeat this to your brother even if you wouldn’t be afraid to say it in front of Baruch.
It happens to be even worse if you say it in front of Baruch because if he isn’t there your brother could assume you misunderstood Baruch. But if Baruch hears and says nothing then your brother knows for sure he said it and it will magnify the bad feelings.

I must say, I really am appreciating this page!!! Thanks to everyone who is adding. Nossond- shticky! Yashrus- interesting! I think beacon was just teasing that the yeshivish computer and yeshivish spelling go “hand” in “hand” (sorry nossond thought it was cute to throw it in here).
Make sure it’s “yashrus” though that you are hackin into the internet in your yeshiva 🙂
