I play an amazing game.It improves their motor skills, speach, and problem solving. You beging by tieing them up to each other and see how long it takes them to get loose.
shev143MemberBowling at times square, or ice skating at Chelsea Piers, both are fun and a great way to spend the day.
shev143MemberYes, I’m proud to say we have a TV at home but it’s only to watch the commercials, (we like to see the sales etc.)
shev143Memberdoes anyone know of gemachs for sister of the groom/bride gowns
shev143Memberwhat I find interesting is that this topic started because it was a rant about people making up sources. It is fine if you and your spouse want to take on the chumra and geder of not touching at all in public. BUT you shouldn’t say that it is assur. While I understand that ideally this might be something that me and my husband should work on, it is not something that we are doing right now. Toi say it is assur when it is not, is wrong and it can sometimes even cause some people to be machshil in other things that are halacchically assur.
in my taharat hamishpacha classes I asked my teacher what is assur and what is not. There are certain things that she told me that certain people accept on themselves as to be more tznius.
shev143Membermyfriend, I have never heard that it is assur to touch your spouse in public?
shev143Memberwhat is the smallest amount you can drink?
shev143MemberHonestly, I can’t believe people even have to think about this. I was actually using the subway today. I had a 19 month old in the carriage and had to carry him up 2 flights of stairs then transfer trains and change platforms, so up 2 flights and down 2 flights. Noone bothered to even ask if I needed a hand! What if I would have tripped? Does something have to happen to 1 child before people wake up? Either offer to take the carriage minus baby and let the mom/dad carry the baby or if you’re “not so frum” help them shclep it by grabbing one side of the carriage! Sometimes people try to be so frum and they can’t see whats right and wrong!
shev143MemberI say a hi to everyone I interact with as well, cashiers, tellers at the bank, even the people who answer your call after they placed you on hold for 20 minutes. I have never heard of anyone saying that this is amazing – it’s called common courtesy. I have experienced what wolf said about it being improper when I was a pre teen. I saw my best friends brother in the street and I said hi. he ignored me. I wasn’t even aware of how saying a hi could be improper. Now that I am married I experience that response less – Go Figure????
shev143MemberI don’t think its either their education or experience . Love is a remarkable thing. look around the world we live in – love is one of the most beautiful things to see and experience and when people see it they are touched.
March 3, 2010 7:40 pm at 7:40 pm in reply to: Bais Yaakov Elementary School in Lakewood closes its doors #675911shev143Memberyes, it is terrible. And the other schools are not accepting these students mid-year!
shev143MemberI actually never got set up through professional shadchanim. So, I am just wondering if I was supposed to give a good family friend $ for trying to set me up. When I did get married it was through someone I worked with who knew my husband’s dad. We got them silver and crystal and spent nicely on it. Although it was definitely not 3,000 worth.
shev143MemberDo you think a family friend expects less than a professional shadchan?
By the way when I was dating I always made sure to say a thank you to the shadchan for thinking of me and trying to set me up. Whether it went to a 2nd date or a 6th date. I think most people do say a thank you, you only hear of the horror stories.
shev143Memberand I think you are not supposed to give mishloach manot – except for the 1 that is for the mitzvah. that is what I was told
shev143MemberHere or there with halacha there might be a right and wrong, but even then look at some of the different threads here – some rabbis say to drink on Purim some say don’t. In any case people here were mentioning things that people look at for shidduchim that are most definitely not halacha – which seminary/yeshiva, kollell is also not the only right way. So as anonymrs has said the crisis is because at least partly due to peoples own stupidity
shev143MemberThanks Kapusta I made them yesterday – My husband loved them as did I , thanks for sharing the recipe.
shev143Memberwere you responding to anonymrs post – because I don’t think what you’re saying is relevent. Otherwise could you be more specific? thanks
shev143MemberI want to make these for breaking the fast tomorrow, anyone know if the salt is Kosher salt or Table salt?
shev143Memberanonymrs – I agree 100% .
hereorthere – are you trying to say that there is a right seminary/yeshiva/color or type of tablecloth?!?
shev143MemberDon’t boys that age get home at about 6 from school? and then isn’t there homework? When I was that age I don’t remember having that much free time for hobbies? But maybe their yeshiva has a gym they could shoot hoops or maybe take a karate class somewhere? Sports are good for young boys and its also healthy.
shev143Membercereal and milk , popcorn . or ice cream are our faves

shev143MemberWhen I try to listen it comes really unclear, I’ll hear 1/2 a word then nothing then 1/2 a word, anyone know how to fix it?
shev143MemberIwould love a recipe where the filling stays in the cookie and doesn’t squirt out all over the cookie sheets – Anyone?
shev143MemberDidn’t King David have the charechteristic of a murderer – so if back in the day someone would have anaylized his handwriting his would say murderer? Crazy! He was able to channel his charechter for the good, Mus that would make 1 crazy MIL
shev143MemberI got an email reply from Gov. Crist he said he signed the death warrant on 1/12/10
shev143MemberOomis: You wrote so eloquently. I sent an e-mail to the governor, but ICOT, your words were more compelling than mine. I hope he listens. The thing is, had I not known it was a Jewish man who committed the killing, I probably would be a hypocrite and feel he deserves what he gets. That disturbs me on so many levels, but I do wish the death penalty were applied more frequently to those who have deliberately and without question, violently taken someone’s life.
THIS! I, too, sent a letter simply because he is a Jew.
Thanx for posting the Gov’s email
shev143Memberoops, you’re right it was beeps recipe. Thank you beeps the sesame chicken was delish!
shev143Memberoomis, Imade the sesame chicken today thank you so much Delicious!
