The passengers will keep enforcing the rule even if the bus company and driver do not. It would be dangerous for the bus driver to get involved while driving a bus on the road. And the bus company isn’t responsible for the passengers enforcement.

gavra: All you have is some hearsay about Reb Yaakov. Document that allegation and I can cite you many many multiples of American Gedolei / Roshei HaYeshivos and Rabbonim who never did or would distribute candies to goyim on this day of Avoda Zora. So far you haven’t documented even one case.

It depends what the halacha is about massering. If it is assur to masser, then it is a KH to not masser and a CH to masser. If it is a chiyuv to report, then it is a KH to report and CH to not report.

OOM: There indeed might be some Rabbonim that don’t hold of it. But the Rabbonim of the owners hold of it. And that’s who they go by. End of story.

People are prone to be influenced that what Mason did — throw out the Torah and go for the glamour — was a good thing for him. After all, now he is world famous and full of glitz, and made a killing too financially. And one might C”V think, hey… maybe if I was a low-key rabbi in a little town that hardly anyone knew about, and I could suddenly turn myself into a superstar and make it big on the world-stage, I too would C”V do the same thing Mason did. So, yes, there is that danger. So we have to belittle it as much as possible and point out all the fallacies and evil in it.

OneOfMany: It says it in the Seforim (don’t have the reference here) that it applies primarily to Yidden, not goyim. Doesn’t matter if the goyim “criticize” us. We still do what our Torah, Halacha, and Hashkafa demand of us. Even the goyim think it is backwards, ancient, and regressive. And a violation of feminism, egalitarianism, gay-rights, democratic ideals, capitalism and western values.

Sam: Because the Rabbonim said so.

Bezalel: No one is coerced. They don’t have to take the bus. They could take a different bus or train or drive or car service. And it is no more “coercion” than being forced to use the non-handicapped seating. Or being “coerced” to only use the men’s room. Additionally, its either segregated or not. If the Rabbonim or Poskim of the owners determined it is to be segregated, that’s the way it was setup.

It applies PRIMARILY to the impression we make towards other Yidden, not goyim.

Never heard that happen, apushatayid. I believe the law makes a religious exemption for serving alcohol to a minor. (Called sacramental something or another. The cops don’t try determining if it is your religions sacrament or not.) For whatever reason it is obviously allowed.

b_h: All I am asking for is two answers (not a comparison to other questions):

    1) Why don’t Rebbetzin’s dress “up to date”/stylish?

    2) Why should regular wives dress “up to date”/stylish?

And whatever the answer to “2” is (i.e. why regular wives *should*), why doesn’t it apply to Rebbetzins (i.e. why do Rebbetzins not have that same need for being “up to date”/stylish)?

    Thank You!

Look up what constitutes a KH or CH. It isn’t what gentiles perceive. It is what would make Hashem happier, not what would make goyim happier. The Rabbonim instituted the seperation. So clearly this is a Kiddush Hashem to follow the Rabbonim’s determination of what is best for members of Klal Yisroel and thus what Hashem wants.

It’s a Kiddush Hashem that the seating is separate. KH and CH don’t depend on the perception of goyim. It depends on the perception of Hashem.

    You misunderstood b_h.

My question was regarding your suggestion that frum girls dress “up to date” and stylish. The WIVES, i.e. Rebbetzins, of Gedolim and RY’s don’t do so. Why not? Why your wife yes?

I believe the only control you lose is you must first get approval before making any significant construction or demolition to a landmarked building. That’s pretty much it. You do not have to allow the public unto the premises.

The bus number (B110) is on the MTA signs next to the MTA bus numbers (i.e. B11). I don’t think any carrier can just have their number put unto the MTA signs.

I respect Agudas Yisroel for the massive work they do for Klal Yisroel. From the time they were working tirelessly day and nigh to rescue European Jewry from the fires of Europe during the holocaust under Reb Elemelech Tress zt” and later with Rabbi Moshe Sherer zt”l spreading the message of Gedolei Yisroel unto our very own times with Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel tirelessly working to help Klal Yisroel under the wise guidance of the tzadik and Nasi of the Agudah, the Novominsker Rebbe shlit”a.
