These people had no Pesach experience, so the whole Seder thing is new to them. You don’t need to say anything more than what it says in the Haggadah. They will not be able to sit too long on an empty stomach anyway.

Introduce them to the Seder and explain the different Simanim in your own words. Next year they will be more ready to schmooze longer.

DaasYochid, Maxwell House makes brew-able ground coffee. Give it shot.

As far as a free Haggadah goes, I regret to inform you that I’m not handing out any. But I do give free coffee for the asking. And you definitely qualify for a free pot of the coffee of your choice.

So experiment and let me know which coffee to prepare for you.

Lighting Up The Night is a nice Haggadah. It’s by Artscroll I think. Has hebrew words on the cover: ???? ???? ????.

    The Artscroll Family Haggadah also

To fkelly and all other folks that don’t appreciate a good Cup O’ Joe:

This thread is for people who enjoy drinking coffee. If you don’t find yourself to be in this particular group, feel free to open your own support group on a different thread.

We think that coffee improves our quality of life. We also like the taste of it. We very much appreciate the fact that it perks us up and helps us to get through the day.

So, please be so kind and let us enjoy it without having to think too much about it.

    Thanking you kindly,

    Coffee Addictions Anonymous

I don’t think I drink 20 cups of caffeine in a day. I also don’t think it’s terribly unhealthy, or simply unhealthy for that matter. I am only aware of 2 problems with coffee. One is not even applicable to adults. I will list them for your reference:

    1) It is said to stunt growth (in children)

    2) It’s a bladder irritant. (When consumed in large amounts)

The above issues are not very problematic health-wise.

The Taster’s Choice French Roast in particular tastes a lot like brewed coffee. IMHO the Folgers, all of them are awful. It’s almost as bad as drinking dirty water.

Did you try Maxwell House? There’s also Starbucks, you know.

Wow. That’s a tough schedule, there. Try hibernating straight through Shabbos afternoon, study in bits and pieces whenever you have 10 minutes here and there.

Realtalk: Try squeezing in a few minutes of studying on your lunch break, if you have. If you take public transportation, you can study a bit while commuting. Good luck.

R’ Berkowitz told to him directly? Because if not, this too may be part of the rumor.

It would probably be quite simple to double check with R’ Berkowitz himself.

    Dear fkelly,

So the only complaint that you’re aware of with coffee is that it stunts your growth. And you yourself defied that. Right? No doctor will tell you that coffee is unhealthy.

Coffee for kids is another story. I personally would never give coffee to kids (I don’t really know why, I just wouldn’t) probably because it will make them irritable.

    For adults though, it’s great.

When you’re bang-smack in the middle of talking to someone and they answer the phone without telling you first.

Their phone is in their pocket on vibrate, so you don’t hear it ring. You’re in the middle of a perfectly good conversation when this person suddenly, out of nowhere, whips his phone out and answers it “HELLO”.

That’s very rude. He doesn’t need permission to answer his phone, but it would be courteous to say “oh one minute please” before he does..

“I’ve always assumed that guys should start dating when they feel ready and mature. By ‘suggesting’ to them to start dating earlier, we run the risk of people starting before they are mature enough.”

Marriage requires a lot of adjusting. Adjusting that is impossible to do before marriage for obvious reasons. This period of adjustment is very often mistaken as immaturity by some folks. And requires a lot of patience…

Regular coffee is a lot healthier than decaf. The decaf coffee goes through a lot of processing.

There’s nothing really unhealthy with regular coffee.

I don’t think it’s the mothers who plant those ideas into their sons heads, but they can definitely try to knock some sense in if they cared.
