yw – moderator : I REALLY want a subtitle. Can I please have one? How about “amazing frum girl B’H”?!:)
ShanifirstMemberI almost went to a mixed school. Everyone before would call me OTD and the place i live there more layed back then some other frum communities. The reason I stopped was because I wanted to marry a Rabbi and i still do “OTD” things just not in public like go swimminng in mixed pools, listen to not jewish music, go to the theatre, wear shorter skirts when i’m only with girls, etc… without people knowing because it’s not within the frum community and i eventually plan on stopping when H’H i’m married.
ShanifirstMemberI think that Ner is an amazing yeshiva for amazing guys and I think that if you want to go to yeshiva and go to college at the same time Ner is the best yeshiva for you! Talk to the Rabbis there and for the class at Ner request Rabbi Frand i heard how much the boys love him and i listen to all his speeches and read all his books and go to his shiurim. His a really amazing person and amazing Rabbi B’H – that if i wore a boy and went to Ner i would TOTALLY want him and request him:)
ShanifirstMemberI didn’t go but a bunch of my sisters did and my sister is going there next year! And from what there saying that’s how i feel about Peninim and BJJ and my sister said the same thing like you but they LOVED it there:) I just chose BJJ over Peninim cause i want to learn FULL day:)
ShanifirstMemberDo you know any way that I can start doing kiruv and where? (as a teen girl)
ShanifirstMemberWish you much Hatzlacha:)
ShanifirstMemberGo to Peninim if you want to tour all over Israel and want to learn half day and learn how to do sheitels and cut hair.
ShanifirstMemberBefore now, I was even MORE frum and i use to learn 24/7 and then somehow i ended up with the WRONG people and now i’m davening for them to go back on the Derech and there out in MO or mixed schools now and it’s VERY sad:( I almost stopped keeping shomer and wore very inappropriate clothes.
ShanifirstMemberRedleg – Don’t scare the poor girl! She will H’H soon find the right person at the right time for her:)
ShanifirstMemberThanks:)
ShanifirstMemberHow about me? Where’s my subtitle? How about “amazing frum girl B’H”:)
ShanifirstMemberWhere do i get the cd from?
October 7, 2013 1:46 am at 1:46 am in reply to: Is it right to suggest a shidduch for yourself? #977967ShanifirstMemberThe best shidduchim is made by the person themselves or a family member:) Just make sure that someone you trust is also involved in the shidduch that’s a close friend and not a family member so that way they can make the shidduch and that way it will be tznius because your friend made it and it’s the same as a shadchan doing it just better because your friends with the shadchan.
ShanifirstMemberWhen i was OTD I davened 3 times per day and perek shira everyday and tehillim and things it just had to do with the people i hung out with and skirts and pants and things. But, now I;m VERY interested in kiruv which i wasn’t before.
ShanifirstMemberSam 2 – The thing with YGW is that Silver Spring is modern orthodox community and the people that go there that are yeshivish go there because it’s the only school in Silver Spring
ShanifirstMemberDo you want to come back as the following:
1. I love to learn and I want to marry someone learning in Kollel and I want to learn right now:) – go to BJJ
OR:
2. I love going on trips! I love talking to friends! I love having a new skill to cut hair and do shaitels! I love making new friends and having time to do things with them! I want to marry someone who is in Kollel or learns and works!:) – go to Peninim
ShanifirstMemberIt’s claimed to be modern but its really a bais yaakov type – mixed – not everyone that goes there is modern especially not the girl i know is going with her best friend the same year as you to there she wants to marry a kollel guy! I know girls that went there that are married to kollel guys! It has trips ALL THE TIME!!! It has half day learning. They also have a course where they teach you how to give haircuts and do sheitels and so that way when you go home you can make $!
ShanifirstMemberHow about you check with the Yeshiva of Greater Washington Guys? It’s an only boys MO school.
ShanifirstMemberAre you looking into the Silver Spring Men because I think that would be an excellent match for you!
ShanifirstMemberI think you should go to Peninim because they go on trips all the time and only learn half day and from the posts you wrote you sound like a perfect fit! Would you be interested in Peninim?
ShanifirstMemberYour soo luck to have a chance to do Kiruv:) Be happy:) Mitzvah girl:)
ShanifirstMemberDepends which school you want to. Did you go to a mixed school? A school with OTD girls? Did you talk to boys? Were you the most frumest at the school that was only for girls but they were MO? Don’t expect to get a boy that has been more frumer than you his WHOLE life. Especially if your a girl if your a boy – maybe because of the shiduch crisis. But, definitely not if your a girl! Look at the Silver Spring, Maryland boys they have a lot of boys that type that you sound like would be right for you and don’t expect him to come from a very frum background either. I know someone that was in your situation and now she’s married.
ShanifirstMemberDaven for him and he will later in life regret it and i still don’t understand why someone would go OTD completely even when i use to be “OTD” i was only modern orthodox i ALWAYS wanted to keep Shabbos, Kosher and Tznius because i love it:)
ShanifirstMemberTell the WHOLE story from the beginning to the end and don’t make up anything. If you do make something up you may be caught in a lie. I love being frum:) 🙂
ShanifirstMemberThat it’s a very good hashgacha pratis story! Good for you!
ShanifirstMemberYou should try to be mekarv her and i wish you much hatzlacha in doing so!
ShanifirstMemberHas your son gone back on the Derech? Wish you much Hatzlacha and an easy way to get him back on the Derech!
ShanifirstMemberThere is a chabad online and don’t look in the past just keep moving on with life and don’t worry i’m sure if you REALLY want a husband you’ll find one H’H just talk to shadchanim and i’m sure they’ll be more then happy to help:)
ShanifirstMemberYou should be makarav her. Don’t tell her that you want to make her frum but just be like “I love long skirts”! “What would i do without Shabbos”?! “Why do i need to go to a mixed swimming pool when there’s an amazing JCC where it’s only for girls”?! “What do i need boys for”?
ShanifirstMemberI read in the Mishpacha and Ami not to get divorced but to go to a therapist with your wife or husband to work on it so that way you keep both shalom bayis and tznius.
September 24, 2013 3:18 am at 3:18 am in reply to: Anyone went to college in Lakewood? And sem question. #976016ShanifirstMemberI don’t think it’s appropriate for a Bas Melech to go to a not Jewish college. So, I wouldn’t go.
