PAA: you think only girls have this problem?
many many boys also spend a lot of their time watching movies and other bad stuff, even with being in yeshiva all day.
true, yeshiva leaves less time to do these things, but ppl will still find time to do these things
showjoeParticipantcape cod is my favorite

to avi k, and all thoses who think that gedolim dont think about political issues when paskening halacha:
a quote from that article:
quotes from that article:
“not to mention they cause terror attacks”
“This leads to hatred”
and on many ywn article about jews on har habis, the article concludes:
“on Sukkos former Israeli President Shimon Peres paid a visit to the Sukka of Maran HaGaon Rav Elyashiv ZATZAL, where Rav Elyashiv called on the President to prevent Jews from visiting Har Habayis, stating it is an act that that is viewed as extremely provocative by the goyim. Maran stated everything possible must be done to avoid a religious war, and the provocateurs are playing with fire.
Maran is quoted as explaining to the president that Halacha forbids going onto Har Habayis but today, it is more than this, it is an act that may lead to a religious war and bloodshed.”
again “stating it is an act that that is viewed as extremely provocative by the goyimstating it is an act that that is viewed as extremely provocative by the goyim”
“it is more than this, it is an act that may lead to a religious war and bloodshed.”

showjoeParticipanti heard from a very reliable source that if one takes a shower b4 chatzos (i think) on erev shabbos, he should wash his hands and face again right b4 getting dressed 4 shabbos
showjoeParticipantShopping613: completely agree! [well maybe not off from learning (at lest for boys), but definitely from english!]

showjoeParticipantsnopes it, its not true.
pba- acoording to snopes, the myth first surfaced in 2002, so it is possible that you made it up b4 hand and it just surfaced in 2002
showjoeParticipantok srry if i though there was sarcasm in there, hope all is forgiven
showjoeParticipantlior: +1
showjoeParticipantscary has to do with perceived danger, not actual danger.
so nothing is perceived dangerous about fries, roller coasters on the other hand…
showjoeParticipantDY:i wasnt trying to belittle your point, i was just pointing out that im not a dass yochid 😉
showjoeParticipantboth. you guys are smart and funny!
showjoeParticipantgolfer: “And, most important of all- is “yeshivish” a pejorative? A compliment?”
its none of the above. its a term to identify oneself or others. not inherently a good or bad term, though ppl turn it into either a compliment or pejorative
October 26, 2014 10:48 pm at 10:48 pm in reply to: Do the moderators enjoy giving subtitles #1207478showjoeParticipantyup, they prob do, it shows how smart they r
showjoeParticipant“When asking the question “is he yeshivish?” or “how yeshivish is he”, you have to know who you are asking, and to answer in any meaningful way, you have to know who’s asking”
exactly my point, that theres no set def of yeshivish
showjoeParticipantis he a mod, just not modding right now?
though it says “not even close”
October 26, 2014 2:52 am at 2:52 am in reply to: Calling uncles and aunts without using their title #1136716showjoeParticipantCIJ: oh i didnt realize that ur nephew was so old! that would b weird, very weird
showjoeParticipantwhy do you let users fake to be mods?
we don’t
showjoeParticipantto different ppl “yeshivsh” means different things, as clearly shown by this tread. again, there is no standard def of yeshivish
October 26, 2014 2:30 am at 2:30 am in reply to: Calling uncles and aunts without using their title #1136713showjoeParticipantidk, im around your age, and while i dont have any nieces or nephews, i wouldnt find it “creepy” to be called “uncle”, though i would rather not be called by a title
showjoeParticipanti think the mods are just playing with us, and every time picking a new number
showjoeParticipantthere is no set definition
October 26, 2014 1:32 am at 1:32 am in reply to: Calling uncles and aunts without using their title #1136705showjoeParticipantCIJ:???
showjoeParticipanti feel like this whole tread is one big inside joke
October 26, 2014 1:05 am at 1:05 am in reply to: Calling uncles and aunts without using their title #1136702showjoeParticipantyekke2: me too. on one side of the family where my uncles and aunts are older, we call them w/ titles, on the other side where my aunts/uncles are much younger, we call them w/o titles.
showjoeParticipantbump
wishing all of the cr and klal yisroel a good shabbos
showjoeParticipantHIE: first of all i agree completely that we should follow our gedolim blindly, even if they say right is left and left is right.
however, i believe, thought i am not so well versed in these topics, and if i am wrong correct me, that dati lumi gedolim are not opposed to the draft.
showjoeParticipantmod- too true, but i rather be dan l’caf zcus
showjoeParticipantwhite
showjoeParticipanti think hes a he.
i dont want to start a kol isha debate, but i believe some ppl hold of different hittarim for boys/men to listen to girl/woman singing. if its recorded, if ones never seen the person singing etc.
And some people just can’t help themselves, R”L
October 24, 2014 4:15 am at 4:15 am in reply to: Whats my problem I can't keep CR members straight? #1037217showjoeParticipantlol randomex, gr8 profile page!
showjoeParticipanti think, that from a torah perspective, that one who took on his nisayon, and “literally goes through pain”, feels more enjoyment from passing this nisayon, than the one who ignored this nisayon
showjoeParticipantfrom anni mammim:
I believe with complete faith that the prophecy of Moses our teacher, peace unto him, was true; and that he was the father of the prophets, both of those who preceded and of those who followed him.
showjoeParticipant“Which is the person you really are? The one who you are here, or who you claim to be IRL?”
i think that the cr person is your more ‘pure’ self, due to that it the cr, theres no social context, and no preset ideas based on other things (e.g. appearance, voice, age, etc,.)
showjoeParticipantbt “You’re asking someone who has put many years into thoughtful political, economic, and sociological study” i have not im still young and trying to learn, from everybody, and i want to hear your thoughts on the matter.
i do try to follow the news, as you suggest.
but back to the issue, you think (supposed) western counties are supplying isis?
