but i agree that we cant rely on trump deliver everything the jews want nor should he. He’s still certainly better than the alternative.

In a community where there is huge poverty, causing a plethora of other terrible issues, overcoming poverty is a hue accomplishment. if everyone in a place had huge stomach problems overcoming that would be notible.

a somewhat cynical answer is that these days kiruv is mostly geirus. when they become serious they could do geirus lechumra

another answer might be that there is halacha about how many generation you need to look back for marriage

I think Rabbi Yehoshua Pfeffer’s more nuanced approach is best. He wouldn’t make the assertions Simcha613 made but thinks it is very important for chareiedim to participate more in the IDF and society in general. not that that doesnt come with challenges or that it should be done wholesale and drastically.

we as Jews should care for the betterment for the people of America. having said that as amazing as the aid has been it comes with downsides for Israel and america. (Israels lack of autonomy, the american military industrial complex)

the wall was a good until Hamas took control of it. instead of keeping terrorists out it only allows terrorists in and out. did you know that Hamas leaders have been in and out of gaza several times in the past months.

I’m not so familiar with Rabbi Millers approach but as you mention it is probably not so relevant anymore. Could you explain how the reason a kollel guy shouldnt take government handouts is because “a man is supposed to work”?
it is more likely because it is wrong to expect the average (non-jewish) tax payer to support your kollel lifestyle.
regarding your question about challenge going to treife college. this (or the treife workplace itself) has been a struggle for most frum yidden in past 100 years (200 years if you include western Europe). what im saying is that various specific challenges have been addressed and continue to be addressed. I would say its probably better to look at more contemporary advice

My current understanding is that the Jews historically never fully conquered ארץ פלשתים. And therefore never sanctified it as halachic Israel status. It seems that it can be part of ארץ ישראל from the parsha/radan. 1967 may have been considered sanctification according to some.

if a people support hurting a single jew it is our responsibility to kill all of them if necessary.
this is besides the requirement to drive or kill any gentiles in the Land who arent subjugated under proper ger toshav laws.

There aren’t really any cooperations that fund Gaza. They’re funded from your tax or the union that you no choice but to be a part of.
Iran doesn’t export anything besides oil and terror. I guess you could using gasoline less.
There’s no way the average consumer could have a affect

the ideal solution would be for the 2.3 million gazans to live under strict jewish authority. where any infraction is punished with death. after many years of this they might learn to act like humans

I think the main thing preventing many religious people in Israel from adopting a more Kehana approach is the belief that all things Moshiach and most things E”Y are completely miraculous and therefore dont require our planning.
this prevents the haredi parties from long term strategic planning

    @EEEE
what would we name the Mesechta if the Greeks hadn’t invented the word ‘Senhedrin’. thats not a serious thing but on serious note the Gemara quotes Greek sources (for non halacha) often. The sefer Torah could be written in Greek letters.
theres something to chochmas yevanis other than Covid varient symbols

major troll. but for people who really dont understand. i suspect that most of the people you are referring to find the term a poor description or condescending. yes obviously one of the pitfalls of living in a frum non-chasidic community is that religious practices get stretched thin or ‘poorly reinterpreted’.
there are plenty of pitfalls of chassidic communities too.
if you wonder why i havent mentioned the litvish chereidim it is because they are largely similar to chasidim in this regard.

wouldn’t this system keep everyone happy?

the gemara menachos basically says you need techeiles (unless the garment is ripped)
Menachot 39b implies that a silk garment doesn’t need techeiles because its only derabanan
the ramban said ‘R’ Zerachiah HaLevi did not wear any tzitzit his whole life’
Meor is on the rif 11b shabbos (rif daf)

the Ramban quotes the Maharam saying that one shouldnt wear tzitzis today because it requires tcheiles. In which case cotton or poly is better. using today’s tcheiles isn’t better in this regard because its unlikely the right type & tying pattern.

i think i’ve seen his picture used as rat deterrence. not that I support that practice whatsoever. my point is people make strange things out of pictures of holy people and its very hard for me to tell much about a person even when seeing him live.

There’s a new siddur that came out recently by rabbi Feigenbaum. It’s an amazing siddur made for teenagers that has translation, notes, and appendices. what is unique about is that it fills a void that is felt strongly by today’s youth. It addresses topics that most don’t such as why guys thank hashem for not creating them women and were men not created in His will.
from as much as I’ve seen it so far it is an incredible work
