Sender AvMember
Are you asking about the topic or the thread with that name, as it is in quotation marks?
Sender AvMemberI just thought to mention that the “old” rebbetzin of my city, meaning the one who used to live here, would always wear gloves (this was in the 50s-60s) so when men would try and shake her hands, she would not touch them directly. This was before my community became religious. It was actually due to Hashem sending us the this wonderful Rabbi and Rebbetzin that my community was able to grow into what it has become.

About five minutes before I was going to walk out the door and head to Shachris, I got a phone call that I was needed for a minyan that was short a couple of guys. I was happy that I was able to help and that Hashem again sent me such an opportunity.
Sender AvMemberEclipse, sorry I missed your post to me before. No, the movie was some drama thriller. I looked it up (since I remembered some of the actors). Not surprisingly its title is “Identity”. I dont know if it was based off a book or not.
Sender AvMemberWolf, that is actually my plan(the ring part). I hope they still make those chocolate rings from Israel when I meet someone and am ready to get married…and I will probably eat the ring myself before she gets to it.
Sender AvMemberBoredStiff, are you talking about a frum proposal or a goyisha one?
I remember seeing one (a frum one) where the girl loved shopping at target and her chosson got them to play some chevra song on all the tvs in the electronics section and had her friend bring her to target. When she got to the electronics section he rolled(a cart) over to her with flowers and a ring. I dont think she even noticed the video. It was real cheesy. I apologize if the guy who did this is reading this(it was still “smart and original”. On a similar note I remember one of my sister’s friends saying she thought it was so romantic to be proposed to in a walmart(as that is where she would most likely go on her first date).
Sender AvMemberJack D, I think we must have met somewhere before and you made a lasting impression.

Sender AvMemberI dont know why the mods did not let this go through…it was obviously a joke. I can only try again.
Ruff, Ruff , an aggressive type?
Get it ?= rough rough.
Sender AvMemberModerator 80: I once saw a really scary movie about that. I forget what it was called. But what does it matter? Joseph, TMB, etc will most likely condemn me for watching a movie before I became more religious.
Sender AvMemberJack Daniels, I hardly “Know” you but picture you as a squarish bottle with a black label and cream colored alcohol on the inside. Am I right?
Sender AvMemberShticky Guy: Thanks for the warm welcome. I have better things to do with my time than make multiple screen names(although frequenting the coffee room might be no different) No I am not Joseph or TMB. How do we know you are not Joseph????
Sender AvMemberBaruch Dayan Emes. May you be comforted along with the other mourners of Zion and Yerushalayim(if I can say that to a grandchild). My grandmother A’H passed away last year and it was very hard. Yet this is an opportunity in which we are better able to see Hashem’s hand and wonders and feel his presence comforting us(if we look out for it).
Sender AvMemberMy question on this topic is do you only shake hands with people on Shabbos, or during the week. I know some people who shake hands during the week and some who don’t(and when I still out my hand to shake and they leave me hanging, I usually feel like an idiot). How do you know when to shake?
Sender AvMemberWhat is the point of this post? Do the Aseres Hadibros not tell us this?
Sender AvMemberSilver, Black, and Aqua blue. And of course I love the zip-up tie for when I’m really cutting it close getting ready for Shabbos and don’t need to waste a minute tying my tie.You can get them at Wal-mart and JC Penny’s. They look a lot better than clip-ons.
Sender AvMemberAries, do you think you could recognize such a person? I can only do so once I get to know them really well.
Sender AvMemberSmartcookie: Is giving into Peer pressure cool at Yeshiva now-a-days? Rabbi Frand has a shiur on smoking. You can listen on Kol Haloshon. It’s for Parshat Bo, Shiur # 4.
Sender AvMemberSomeone had me buy some of the kernels in Baltimore at the 7mile market(the old one) and bring it to NY this past summer. It was in small green bag. She didn’t tell me how to prepare it but the recipe above looks good.
Sender AvMemberMyname: your award is being revoked. New newest member: me(unless there is someone who joined today that I don’t know about).
Sender AvMemberI think its fine to watch the movie. As to why it is so popular with those involved in Toevah marriage, IMHO, I think it has something to with how colorful and “cheery” it is.
