Thanks. I know I am not chayuv in all 613, it is just that my name makes me feel like what I am chayuv in, I might not be living up to.

By the way, we do have a tv in our den. The antenna is unplugged and rarely is used for broadcast channels except for when we need weather reports(i.e. snowstorms and school closings). We do use it to play Torah cds in and home videos or clean kids movies(Bubbie’s boarding house, etc).If you were to own a tv you can use if for pure purposes(Torah) and not for shtuss.

I would lean toward not having one. I used to watch tv(possibly addicted) as a child. I even had a tv schedule. I came home from school did my homework and from 6:30 to 10 11:00 every night I would watch tv. I continued to watch tv until I went off to yeshiva in Israel where I took dvds of my shows with me. Now that I do not watch tv any longer I really regret that I had the opportunity to do so.Much of the shows that I watched inappropriate content is stuck in my head (ex. FRIENDS or Simpsons, etc)and I really wish I could get it out. Do your future kids( and yourself) a favor and do without the T.V. Please take my word for it.

Ps. and as I hear it : the content is just getting worse and worse.

If you really need entertainment rent some dvds of I love Lucy and other 50s shows (70s are a little risky) and watch them on your computer

Malchus at it’s best???? Go watch a video of Queen Elizabeth II wedding and watch how she gracefully waves to the crowd from the balcony, then go watch the new bride wave to the crowd. Grace has been lost and so has their malchus.

Seeallsides is right. I happened to hear in a Pesach shiur I was listening to earlier that we dont fast in Nisan. If I only heard it before I posted(which I actually did, but did not really pick that part up as pertaining to me..must be Pesach cleaning getting the best of me).

Why not try the many frum minyanim already there. Beth Jacob in Toco Hills, Congregation Ariel in Dunwoody, Young Israel (MO) of Toco hills, Chabad of Sandy Springs(Beth Tefillah). Beth Jacob and the Atlanta Scholars Kollel has the most minyan options. Shachris : 7:00 and 7:30(kollel). Mincha next week 7:50. Maariv: one after mincha, 9:00 and 9:45 kollel.

Poppa, we always wash it well and it does not start doing this right away. We keep our seder plate and the little dishes for each object that goes on it in the china cabinet/breakfront so we can see a couple months after pesach it starts doing this. I clean it off and a couple weeks-months later…its back. I have no idea how to stop it. Gumball, I also figured it might be a reaction from the salt.

Is there something about dying the same age your parent do? Thats what I get from Eclipse. My grandmother died at 98 , her mother 88. I guess my mother and her mother died around the same age of cancer.

Yogi, Feif, is this the fellow who lost some of his fingers in a machine related accident when he was younger? If so he was the cook at my Yeshiva. I heard he also taught classes on the matrix as it relates to Torah.

Aries,I am not myself a paying member( too young) but am of a family who has been members with the shul for over 40 years. I dont know if that makes any differece? I still think of myself as having been at the shul my whole life. I had my bris, upsherin, and bar mitzvah, all there. And my parents used to be very active when they were younger and had more time on their hands(they even got the man and woman of the year award once).
