Derech, my question was is the kinder chocolate made in Germany reliable kosher? I know they make it in Germany. They also make it in Poland and some other countries and it is NOT kosher.
Sender AvMemberHow does it make it okay just because they sell it in Israel??? Do they sell it in frum places? Although sometimes that makes no differece. I notice something with a triangle-K in a store in Geulah and I asked the status of the Israeli hechsher that was stamped on it. The reply: “not so good”, and I told them neither is the original one (the triangle-K). It was still there afterwards.
Sender AvMemberDerech, the unblech is a metal pan filled with water and then has another pan placed over it. It is like heating food k’deira., Like warming it up over a hot water urn. And as I was learning last night it looks like it is forbidden to insulate a hot water urn, then it should be forbidden to insulate food on an unblech, unlike my friend told me. I also know it is forbidden to heat up gravy or wet food no matter what. I think I am going to have to speak to the rav, but I dont know how to go about it without him figuring out who it is, or me telling him.
Sender AvMemberDerech, what is your source?
Sender AvMemberIt is gonna be hard to explain this to them without hurting any feelings. And we live right near each other. I also question their use of the “un-blech” on which I noticed that insulate their food(which he said is ok on an unblech and they even put food on with gravy in the day.
Sender AvMemberAlso videographers. For my bar mitzvah seudah, one of my teachers says “are you taping me while I’m eating???!). We had that taken out of the video.
Sender AvMemberthere is a story by Rabbi Emanuel Feldman on how he once refused to move from his position under the chuppah so the photographer could get a good shot of the chosson putting the ring on the kallahs finger. That is what I mean by in the way.
Sender AvMemberaries, I would think that would make fasting worse.
Sender AvMemberI dont know. I thought it was only when one is wearing it to, but apparently it is any benefit. I learned that if one has a rug that contains shatnez he should not walk on it barfeoot or sit on it.
Sender AvMemberadorable, I dont think I ever met you. I dont evewn know your writing style that well.
Sender AvMemberminyan gal, if you dont mind me asking: do you live in the South?
Sender AvMemberLemony, no delusion. In fact we are wacthing you. See the webcam above you?
Sender AvMemberare you really adorable???
Sender AvMemberor is it possible that I am really the only mod and not even the mods (i.e. the mod squad) knows it???

Sender AvMemberIf KC kosher co-op services your area, they carry it. I just ordered some.
Sender AvMemberthe prize is the pride that you won.
Sender AvMembertikkun, you want to share?
Sender AvMemberoy.
Sender AvMemberhow did this turn into another thread about corn?
June 21, 2011 6:02 pm at 6:02 pm in reply to: Hard time feeling bad about commiting an aveira #780342Sender AvMemberThanks everyone. It still feels weird though, not feeling as bad as I would have in the past. I guess this is one of the hard parts of life…
But I also feel like I dont know if what I do for teshuva is accepted, considering I dont think I feel the worst I should, I feel like I need to feel bad to put more kavana in my teshuva.
Sender AvMemberthanks BSD, so have I been insulting the guy I know named Mr. Kiete?(pronounced kite)
Sender AvMembergiggle girl= a gallon of laughs?
Sender AvMemberKshmo, count your blessings. I STILL have not been able to buy my mind back on eday, I mean ebay…(see).
Sender AvMemberZahavasdad, not true. Bookstores actually do display inappropriate type books on shelves that one must pass by in the middle of the store. Also in my community, some members kindly asked the grocery store managers if they would mind covering up the inappropriate magazines, and while they have not go it down perfectly, they do try to do so. I can not see a book store covering up their books.
Brother, been there, Not doing it again. As I said, I try to avoid even entering a book store. Thank G-D Borders went under.
Sender AvMemberwhats a ugly man?
Sender AvMemberListen to Rabbi Frands Shiur on this. # 3 on Kol Haloshon under Parshas Shelach.
Sender AvMemberLet me just say this, Barnes and Nobels has some inappropriate books on display which could very likely catch the sight of children. This is one reason I will try not to enter their stores anymore.
Sender AvMemberzees…unfortunately Zaidy is no longer young and those places no longer there.
Sender AvMemberdont put powdered sugar on a french roast though
Sender AvMemberTexas is not “THE SOUTH”
Sender AvMemberIts funny I passed this post up before because I thought it was a recipe for French Toast. I was like common. Although Now I want to say real french toast does not have pancake syrup on top but powdered sugar(that is how my father’s Bubbie from France would make it).
Sender AvMemberA real southern funny: the tune to misha nichnas adar is the same as pick a bail of cotton
Sender AvMemberTwisted, I always saute okra with some onions and brown sugar, and parprika. I then let it get tender and add a can of diced tomatoes and season and cook for about 25 min on simmer. Just a suggestion. I stopped making it because canned tomatoes started to give me headaches.
Sender AvMembertwisted: okra? You’re either sephardi or southern…or both.?
Sender AvMemberOk sac, I switched the ratatouille with green beans. Now, I am making the ratatouille for Shabbos. Approved?
Sender AvMembersac, I dont hate. No need to worry. I like to get opinions. Adorable, sure!, you probably live nowhere near me, but send me your address and I’ll mail you a plate( better yet I can email you a cyberplate). Always, thanks. I try.
Sender AvMemberSac, thanks for the gourmet compliment. I try. I tried to shove a lot of dairy together, if thats what you mean by some dishes not going together. I can also see the tzimmes with the chicken marsala( but I want to use it since it has been in the freezer since Pesach). But for the most part I think they do. May I ask what you mean just for critique?.
Sender AvMemberand no I did not type all this up for this thread.
Sender AvMemberMy menu for Shavous(Figure out what we do yourselves)
1st night:
1st Day Shavous-
2nd Night Shavous
2nd Day Shavous
Desserts
-Iced Coffee/ Iced Tea
Sender AvMemberI am FFB and BT. Everyone should be BT. I had a lot to improve in my frumkeit besides being FFB(definition shomer Shabbas, Kashrus, mitzvos). I still needed to cut out TV(and the like), shomer negiah, start learning, better Shabbos observance, etc). If I was born in a non-frum or goyish home, Hashem did not put me in that situation so it is not important to know, but I am thank G-D growing in/with the situation he put me in.
Sender AvMembershe came back as a horse. Mrs. Ed I believe(Of course, of course)
Sender AvMemberywn coffee room

May 29, 2011 5:29 am at 5:29 am in reply to: what was your first memory and how old were you? #778608Sender AvMemberI believe I remember going to see “Beauty in the Beast” with my mohter A’H and sister when I was 3(early 3, since my mother died 28 days after I turned 4 and probably would not have been well enough to take us). I don’t remember much about her and I also remember running down the halls of the hospital once to go and see her and kiss her hand to wake her up(like in the movies). I told my aunt about this a couple of months ago and she said she was there and I did in fact do this(no one ever told me about it).

-Chaplain, yes I am from the south(busted), but from the sound as your post, maybe not as far south as you(although Atlanta is the heart of the south). I am a true dixie yid(4th generation).
