What bracha does one make on this recipe?
SecularFrummyMembernishtdayngesheft- Then, what are you doing on the internet? Seems pretty risky because as you say, “one mis-surf.”
SecularFrummyMemberIn reality, unless you are making over 10 rolls, it is most likely more cost effective to buy from a store.
SecularFrummyMemberWIY- And cigarettes kill only temporarily?
We need our physical self in order to grow spiritually.
SecularFrummyMemberIf you ever were a real fan, you could never walk away.
SecularFrummyMemberWow, what a performance last night by the Islanders.
SecularFrummyMemberWhat a great first night of playoffs. Fans really got spoiled with 3 close games, 2 overtimes.
Let’s go Islanders
SecularFrummyMemberWhile the Islanders have not matched up well to the Penguins this season (1-4-0, outscored 17-8) all of these game took place before April, when the Isles stared getting really hot. I think that if the Isles can steal one of the first two games in Pittsburgh, they will force a long series, possibly 7 games. Sidney Crosby is out for the first game, and while the Penguins still have one of the deepest lineups in the league, his absence will be noticed.
The Islanders have played well on the road lately. The Islanders’ 2nd-4th lines need to continue to play the way they have for the past 20 games. Nabby will continue to give the team a shot every night. Tavares’ line needs to be the top unit they are. Playoffs are going to be great.

Wouldn’t it make more sense in Brooklyn, closer to where most attendees of such a rally live? If it is for a coverage by the media, seems like the organizers don’t think the tefillos are enough to make any impact.
SecularFrummyMemberFrom simple organisms to more complex. That is what is found in the fossil record.
SecularFrummyMemberTorah- In the overwhelming majority of cases, the fossil record is most certainly not mixed up as you claim. It is in the order as predicted by evolution. Also, couldn’t one argue that energy in made up of matter, in which case the “spiritual” is simply made of the physical, and completely tangible?
SecularFrummyMemberTorah- Mention a few of the plenty please.
SecularFrummyMemberAre there as many equal numbers as there are infinity of numbers?
SecularFrummyMemberMy point is that some generations had it easy when it came to emunah because they were able to see nisim v’niflaos. We, on the other hand, are in a generation of atheists and evolutionists that are bringing proofs against Hakodosh Baruch Hu. So how is that fair playing field?
SecularFrummyMemberSo why didn’t the generations that witnessed miracles have to deal with the bechirah issue?

And another point, this shadchun is clearly not doing her job if she thinks you are a great guy, but in reality you are superficial…
April 11, 2013 9:59 pm at 9:59 pm in reply to: PHOTO: Orthodox Jewish Man Covers Himself In Plastic Bag On Plane #945784SecularFrummyMemberDaasYochid- Not for a long time, but passing over a cemetery for a split second is very likely.
April 11, 2013 9:02 pm at 9:02 pm in reply to: PHOTO: Orthodox Jewish Man Covers Himself In Plastic Bag On Plane #945780SecularFrummyMemberDaasYochid- Just a question then: When space travel becomes commonplace, will it be assur for Kohanim to partake because inevitably they will be over a cemetery at some point?

SecularFrummyMemberModerators????- My post make too much sense to be posted?
Oooh, now you’ve convinced me.
SecularFrummyMemberHealth- How does one reconcile all the Jewish lives lost when the charedim were schteiging away in the beis without the threat of being drafted?
SecularFrummyMembermdd- So if you are doche that it is a bidi’eved, why would one be in favor of it l’chatchila?
HaKatan- I refer you back to the post I was responding to. If it isn’t some distortion of torah, why did it take time for it to be accepted by mainstream orthodoxy?
SecularFrummyMembermdd- Isn’t BY as a whole a distorted torah view in the first place? Before 1917 such a concept did not exist and even after it took a while for BY to be accepted by the “mainstream orthodox.”
SecularFrummyMemberGo to the southern hemisphere and you can have a white tisha b’av. I was once in New Zealand for a summer of snowboarding. Awesome time.
SecularFrummyMemberI feel the word “brainwashing” simply means education, just an education with which somebody does not agree.
Very similar to lashon hara or motze shem ra. It will only be labelled as such if a listener feels strongly against that position.
SecularFrummyMemberyiddeshemeidle613- I heard that story of rav Moshe Feinstein. He was at a breakfast after a bris. The milk was chalav stam. He lifted the carton and put it on its side. Someone asked him why he did as such and he replied that he want others to know it was empty and so the waiter would come to remove it.
SecularFrummyMemberTalmud- Quite the opposite. But very normal to be judged by others.
SecularFrummyMemberDov Lipman is a rav that got smicha from Ner Yisrael. He is most certainly charedi.

Women Grocery Shopping In 3" Heeled Pumps On A Slushy Thursday Night? #938909SecularFrummyMemberAzoi- Just as you have noticed and made assumptions about this woman, I’m sure someone else could’ve also noticed and now will recommend their daughter for a shidduch for this woman’s son, being that she is so formal for everyday errands.
SecularFrummyMemberI think its simple supply and demand. They know you want to attend and are willing to pay. Just like most things in life.
SecularFrummyMemberJokes at the aufruf is a regular thing, in my experience. But its mainly between a guy and his close friends….and whichever of the parents’ friends are in the room.
SecularFrummyMemberDaas Yochid- Then why have bein hazmanim? Thats several weeks a year of less torah learning…
Zahavasdad- Hit the nail on the head. Couldn’t agree more.
SecularFrummyMemberConstitutional monarchy? Where to I submit my application to be the king?
March 10, 2013 12:08 pm at 12:08 pm in reply to: Yeshiva/BY Salaries & Other School Expenses #935625SecularFrummyMemberIf the yeshiva/BY in question is a 501c3, then all expenses are made public. Just call the IRS.
SecularFrummyMemberSqueak- If you think the Earth is flat, explain time zones. Why is it that when one calls Israel they are 7 hours ahead?
SecularFrummyMemberWinning over being right is what got Yiddishkeit to where it is today.
SecularFrummyMemberIt’s all relative. You seem like a math person so..Going to med school and residency may take 100%-%200 longer than other professions, but as a percentage of time within a lifetime, it is only a change of 4-6%. 5% is only a “bit.”
SecularFrummyMemberfkelly- What do you mean “does not keep torah in private?” Doesn’t everybody fall into such a category at one time or another? If they have doubts in belief, there would be no difference regarding that doubt whether in private or public.
SecularFrummyMemberRebdoniel- Tinok shenishba in regards to being an atheist? So then no true atheist would ever be liable for averios done, even if brought up frum.
SecularFrummyMemberSharp- I can’t accept that. There are people that lie to their families about all sorts off things, why should belief be an exception? I know plenty of folks who have not been real with their families for years…
SecularFrummyMemberSnowbunny, once someone knows the fundamentals of golf, it only takes a few range session to get back into it. Happens to me every year after purim time, I swing a bit and I’m back shooting mid 80s.
SecularFrummyMemberRebdoniel- Should a person, then, be subjected to admit to his/her family that s/he is a non-believer while searching for emunah? Or should s/he admit it, and not touch mevushal wine for the family?
SecularFrummyMemberEretz means land. In modern Hebrew it may also mean earth, no way does the torah discuss “planet Earth.”
SecularFrummyMemberIt’s because non-fat milk still has milk in it. Even though it may say zero grams of fat per serving doesn’t mean there is no fat in the product…
SecularFrummyMemberKonai- So for the meanwhile, during their search, he can still be a baal kriyah and be yotzei the tzibur with their leining?
SecularFrummyMemberDo not allow any part of the cake to be exposed to the air. Plastic wrap that covers all sides should do the trick. I know it can annoying to open and close, but maybe that will be the yetzer tov to stop eating those unneeded calories.
SecularFrummyMemberI know a Chabad rabbi who holds cholov yisrael and gets frozen milk shipped to him from the U.S. If after the expiration date, you can consume is for about 2 days after thawing. Seems like a short amount of time.
SecularFrummyMemberBeing a physician is very rewarding and exciting. You can make decent money, too. The time is school is a bit longer, but if we are all here ad meah va’esrim, what’s 7-10 extra years in school.
SecularFrummyMemberKanoi- So someone who would like to believe but does not, for whatever reason, should not keep up appearances and continue “performing” mitzos in the meantime while s/he is searching for the emunah in Hashem?
fkelly- But perhaps a person heard “proof” from the other side and that is stuck in his/her head. What would you say to such a person?
SecularFrummyMemberIs red bull kosher these days?
