I don’t think we can judge an animal on looks. There is plenty of variety of appearance even from parents to offspring. But DNA analysis should not used either, due to there being no halachic basis for that categorization scheme.
SecularFrummyMemberRedleg- Not necessarily. With enough generations, even non-preexisting traits can be brought about.
But then we get into the discussion of what is a trait. Bacteria cannot run or breath or mate (not including conjugative transfer of genetic material), but animals can.
SecularFrummyMemberRedleg- Yes, they are all “dogs.” The changes that have taken place did not affect that fact.
However, there is no reason to believe that other changes desired by breeders could not be accomplished. If a breeder decided s/he wanted a herbivore dog, through enough generations it is completely possible.
SecularFrummyMemberI hold by shabbos zmanim of the Amshinover rebbe. Makes things easier to get things done erev shabbos.
SecularFrummyMemberRedleg- I tried to address that in previous attempted posts, but it was not allowed through the moderation.
I wouldn’t suggest to “back” on the evolutionary ladder, instead undertake a artificial selection program to reach the goals, similar to the variety we see in the Canis genus.
SecularFrummyMemberRedleg- DNA recombinant technology is not necessary to achieve what I proposed.
How do you think we got the Cavendish banana?
SecularFrummyMemberSo many “proofs” of the Torah come in the form of there only being one animal (genus Sus) that has cloven hooves, but doesn’t ruminate.
If I was to cross breed animals until I produced an animal that only had cloven hooves…
SecularFrummyMemberWhat melachah are you violating if you play ping pong?
SecularFrummyMemberSpeaking from personal experience, the vague prompt allows an applicant to show how well they will conform with the goals of Michlalah. Hoping that you understand that this seminary wants its student to be able to apply the education received to practical, everyday life as a Jew, that should be apparent in your personal statement. Along with that, you should express your desire to better yourself and the people you will be surrounded with while at their institution. So let them know what you have to offer others. In general, speak highly of Michlalah, and show your desire to be apart of the greatness you see in the school.
SecularFrummyMemberWhat does a mule have to do with this question?
I believe, although am not certain, that this animal has both kosher symbols, rumination and cloven hooves.
SecularFrummyMemberYou can dare to say whatever you want(pending moderator approval), but all because you know of more individuals that forewent a proper education and later happened to have matriculated at a top law school doesn’t make it so.
SecularFrummyMemberYou are wrong.
SecularFrummyMemberA strong undergraduate education will give a prospective graduate student a leg up when taking the LSAT and in law school. Although it is totally possible to succeed at a prestigious law school without it, a proper undergraduate education will make it a whole lot easier and will give skills that a BTL simply cannot.
SecularFrummyMemberIs this the same AronRa I see elsewhere on the internet?
SecularFrummyMemberBut perhaps a good education will help in this person’s future. A strong GPA may mean something in regards to getting in graduate schools, but a strong education gives a person even more advantages.
SecularFrummyMemberGo to a real college and get a real degree. Nothing can take the place of a real education.
SecularFrummyMemberPre-nup, please.
SecularFrummyMemberPlease get an education first.
SecularFrummyMemberI’m guessing Yungerman from Lakewood is the culprit.
SecularFrummyMemberBookworm- Internet search “you kicked my dog” and you will get your answer.
SecularFrummyMemberAny different than paying someone to lain/davening/sound shofar?

SecularFrummyMemberIf the dog belongs to the Indian guy down your street, you should advise your daughter not to kick it. You may get a phone call from an angry neighbor.

With that in mind, I don’t plan on ever spending $1 in any such establishment.
SecularFrummyMemberAnonymous1000- Does it make more sense for a person who believes to break halacha in private or for a non-believer to keep halacha in public?
SecularFrummyMemberLook into a hesder place with an English speaking program. HaKotel, KBY, Gush, Maale Adumim. All reputable places.
SecularFrummyMemberA hydroponics lab, for sure.
SecularFrummyMembernishtdayngesheft- Thank you for the compliment. One of my areas of expertise is orthopraxy.
SecularFrummyMemberAction is all that matters. Belief is not nearly as important as it is in other monotheistic religions (Islam, Christianity).
As long as you keep up with the motions, you will be accepted in the community. There is no incentive to believe.

SecularFrummyMemberI am not in law school. And from all the seminary discussions, I assume others aren’t in law school either.
SecularFrummyMemberNo, I’m a student with great prospects.
SecularFrummyMemberBut I am hopeful to make a solid salary within the next 2-7 years.
SecularFrummyMemberGet her kicked out of school for wearing pants. Problem solved.
