Leave France.
screwdriverdelightParticipantThe first few posts are supposed to be hung up prominently.
screwdriverdelightParticipantwhenever you have a conversation with someone (or is that too optimistic of me?) you don’t know if they’re too modern, too yeshivish, or heretical, and you don’t know why what they said is wrong.
screwdriverdelightParticipantI’m waiting to see which free item oorah will offer me for my pledge.
screwdriverdelightParticipant(Not that I ever took an interview there.)
screwdriverdelightParticipantSpeaking in English probably helps.
screwdriverdelightParticipantThe answer to my question, in short:
But still doesn’t answer
screwdriverdelightParticipantWas this the first post ever in the CR?
No, but all previous were admin test posts.
January 8, 2016 8:41 pm at 8:41 pm in reply to: Are Kollel Folks Better Jews Than The Rest Of us? #1174535screwdriverdelightParticipantOn a different thread I pointed out that there were 0ver 200 posts in one week. This thread joined that rank.
screwdriverdelightParticipantI’m glad you waited. Next up you are here on the EIB Network. You’re on the air.
screwdriverdelightParticipant??? ???? ?????? ?? ??
screwdriverdelightParticipantfrom Wikipedia:
The first known straws were made by the Sumerians, and were used for drinking beer,[1] probably to avoid the solid byproducts of fermentation that sink to the bottom.[citation needed] The oldest drinking straw in existence, found in a Sumerian tomb dated 3,000 B.C.E., was a gold tube inlaid with the precious blue stone lapis lazuli.[1] Argentines and their neighbors used a similar metallic device called a bombilla, that acts as both a straw and sieve for drinking mate tea for hundreds of years.[1]
screwdriverdelightParticipantYou’re 2 weeks too late, aren’t you?
January 7, 2016 7:50 pm at 7:50 pm in reply to: thread for random things too small to be their own threads #1163318screwdriverdelightParticipantWhy don’t houses have electronic windows, like cars do?
screwdriverdelightParticipantscrewdriverdelightParticipantthis username is already taken’s subtitle used to be “I have two subtitles, both of which aren’t listed.”
A lot more updates due…
screwdriverdelightParticipantAs a thread gets longer, it proves ????? how stupid it was.

screwdriverdelightParticipantWhat’s with Syag Lchochma’s un in this post?
http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/do-not-replyrandom-thread#post-322088
His other posts from that time don’t have that un.
And how did Shopping613 make those stars? Let’s see if I can:

Oh. Cool.
screwdriverdelightParticipantIf non Jews listen to Jewish music, they’ll like it and adopt it as their own. Meanwhile, Jews are busy adopting non Jewish music as their own, so the result would be that people will think that non Jewish music is really Jewish music.
January 4, 2016 7:32 pm at 7:32 pm in reply to: Suggest subtitles for others (okay, and yourself…) #1152675screwdriverdelightParticipantI love the phrase Mostly Harmless too, but not when it’s applied to me.
January 3, 2016 8:32 pm at 8:32 pm in reply to: Why is there so much pressure to be "in style" #1121449screwdriverdelightParticipantI actually never got accepted to any seminary…it’s a sore subject, please don’t ask me about it.
screwdriverdelightParticipantI like that line.
screwdriverdelightParticipantEven if you were right with your assumptions, your teirutz doesn’t explain why the boy’s mother is used a scapegoat more than his father or the girl’s mother.
January 3, 2016 8:26 pm at 8:26 pm in reply to: A lion rampant gules and bars argent on a field rouge #1133766screwdriverdelightParticipantI had no idea.
January 3, 2016 8:24 pm at 8:24 pm in reply to: Why is there so much pressure to be "in style" #1121447screwdriverdelightParticipantIt’s a seminary thing. There are some seminaries out there that if you come in the first day with yesterday’s clothing, then forget it–you just blew it. No one will associate themselves with you because you’re so last year.
But I heard Machon Raaya’s not like that.
screwdriverdelightParticipantThere’s no reason to oppose the bombing of Agrabah.

January 3, 2016 8:13 pm at 8:13 pm in reply to: Random thread: Rocky Zweig, Purim, and writing #1120160screwdriverdelightParticipantHe just had a 3 column letter in last week’s newspaper, and by the sound of it, had written controversial letter(s) in previous weeks. Kind of annoying, I had no idea what was going on.
January 3, 2016 8:06 pm at 8:06 pm in reply to: Suggest subtitles for others (okay, and yourself…) #1152673screwdriverdelightParticipantWow, NE, I’m really that bad?
January 3, 2016 8:02 pm at 8:02 pm in reply to: What did people do before Rashi invented Rashi tefillin? #1120116screwdriverdelightParticipantThe words “invent” and “make up” have a ridiculing connotation.
screwdriverdelightParticipantIt is a sad situation. I know someone who was in jail for a few years, murder or something, and she just can’t find a shiduch. I recently was speaking to a boy and I said, “I don’t understand. Why don’t you just marry her and be happy about it?”, but he still refused, and then complains I’m not helping him out enough. It’s ridiculous.
It happens to be that I later found out that this girl didn’t have as much money as I thought she did, so he was right for declining, but he didn’t know that bishas ma’aseh. And then he wants to know why he’s still single.
December 30, 2015 8:59 pm at 8:59 pm in reply to: Women wearing taleisim caused the shidduch crisis #1119614screwdriverdelightParticipantI haven’t seen any evidence that females exist there.
screwdriverdelightParticipantStarting lighthearted conversations doesn’t work here because it will inevitably be taken as serious by the austere CR hijackers.
screwdriverdelightParticipantWhy did they ask him how he could if he already opined that its fine?
December 30, 2015 8:46 pm at 8:46 pm in reply to: Women wearing taleisim caused the shidduch crisis #1119612screwdriverdelightParticipantRebyid23, NASA is already doing their fair share of alleviating the shiduch crisis. As soon as they find life on outer space, they’ll bring all the males to Earth. Crisis solved.
December 30, 2015 8:43 pm at 8:43 pm in reply to: What did people do before Rashi invented Rashi tefillin? #1120085screwdriverdelightParticipantI don’t know if it was deliberate or not, but the title and OP sound scornful and offensive.
screwdriverdelightParticipantgoogle email for machon raaya and click on the first link
screwdriverdelightParticipantWhy not use correct punctuation in the subtitle?
screwdriverdelightParticipantThe Quack keeps quacking but just goes up in the pools.
December 28, 2015 8:12 pm at 8:12 pm in reply to: Who composed the World Famous Sholom Aleichem? #1119728screwdriverdelightParticipantI think the tune for Shalom Aleichem is actually from the beis hamikdash.
December 28, 2015 8:05 pm at 8:05 pm in reply to: Women wearing taleisim caused the shidduch crisis #1119604screwdriverdelightParticipantNASI should spend more energy dictating that women shouldn’t wear talisos instead of when bochurim should start dating.
December 28, 2015 7:59 pm at 7:59 pm in reply to: Suggest subtitles for others (okay, and yourself…) #1152660screwdriverdelightParticipantnotamod should get the subtitle “not even close”.
screwdriverdelightParticipantnfgo, pay attention to my post. I asked why specifically after the Paris attacks should our respect for them rise.
screwdriverdelightParticipantOur. Their. + There.
December 22, 2015 7:19 pm at 7:19 pm in reply to: Are the girls causing their own shidduch crisis?? #1120579screwdriverdelightParticipantSaying no after 2 hours makes more sense than what happens when one meets a shadchan: The shadchan talks to him/her for 10 minutes, usually in a line of other people, and after those 10 minutes think that they know everything about said person.
