screwdriverdelightParticipantSam2, I don’t know what you mean when you say that it’s only a minhag. The shulchan aruch (??”? ???, ?) seems to say that it’s ??????.
screwdriverdelightParticipantthe CR could sure do with some other threads. Hence, rule
4) No bumping threads which may cause inspiration, introspection, or meaningful conversation.
screwdriverdelightParticipantOh, I finally got it. Every post must say “the same thing”. Hence the OP. And that means I didn’t break the rule with this post.

September 9, 2015 6:24 pm at 6:24 pm in reply to: thread for random things too small to be their own threads #1163313screwdriverdelightParticipantIs it better to post something on a thread if it only somewhat relates to the topic at hand or is it better to start a new thread?

screwdriverdelightParticipantDair and cold cuts sandwiches at the same table is forbidden and even if it would be permitted it sounds like a bad idea, unless one hires waiters whom he can trust absolutely.
screwdriverdelightParticipantPlaying favorites is okay, because it generates healthy competition among the students.
screwdriverdelightParticipantthe translation is:
R’ Avahu said, the angels asked the Holy One, Blessed is He, “Master of the Universe, why do the people of Israel not say hymns before You on Rosh Hashana and Yom HaKkipurim?” He replied, “Is it possible that a king sits on his Chair of Judgement, with the books of life and the books of death [alternatively, books of the living and the books of the deceased] open before him, and Israel should say hymns before me?”

screwdriverdelightParticipantemergency disclaimer on my above post. THAT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN AN EMOTICON, ESPECIALLY GIVEN ITS CONTEXT. The colon and parentese was supposed to go on the left of the yud.
screwdriverdelightParticipantMahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which
produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very
little which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered
from bad breath. This made him. (Oh, man, this is so bad, it’s
good)….. A super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.
screwdriverdelightParticipantIt was against his political agenda to vote against the deal and it may effect his future ambitions. I don’t think that should be ignored.
screwdriverdelightParticipantwhy?
screwdriverdelightParticipantYou’ve already said elsewhere that you live in NYC.
Sorry for the stalking, but hey, you are super cool.

I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean.
screwdriverdelightParticipantI think skripka and Happy Go Lucky come from the same pod.

screwdriverdelightParticipantI don’t get OP. First he asks why chasidim do it, then he asks why the litvish don’t.

screwdriverdelightParticipant“I know, right”
“let’s agree to disagree”
“this article doesn’t represent the views of whichever publication is printing it”
screwdriverdelightParticipantNo.
screwdriverdelightParticipantFirst I didn’t understand what RebYidd’s post had to do with this thread: it has nothing to do with the recipe, but questions the whole premise of black-and-whites altogether. Next I wondered what his question was supposed to mean. Why “this particular type of cookie”? Because it’s a black and white. By definition it’s two colors–that’s what makes it a black and white, and that’s why it always has two colors.
Then, I realized that kushya mituretzes b’chaverta–if the OP wanted a recipe for black and white cookies, and not black and white frosting, then there is obviously only a certain cookie which could be made into black and whites.
screwdriverdelightParticipantMrs. D.–close enough. I like your version better than what I had in mind…I forgot A “T” for “Teachers”.
screwdriverdelightParticipant1. America’s decision could influence other countries.
2. “Why doesn’t Israel just bomb Iran?” Are you out of your freakin mind??
3. “3 months away from a bomb”–more like a few years.
4. “Perhaps sanctions can only delay a bomb but iran will be no different to north korea it will not stop them.” YWN CR has a rule requiring posting posts which resemble English.
screwdriverdelightParticipantthe question was if you’re good at it, not how to do it.

screwdriverdelightParticipantPassover in Hebrew is Pesach. Polish pronunciation would render it Peisach. Paysach doesn’t mean anything.
