purple- to be online having fun when you are being paid to work, yes would be geneiva (putting aside calculating email/coffee breaks etc). sitting at work with nothing to do because your boss is absent and didn’t leave you enough to do however is a different story

snowbunny- except that was on pesach. They did fast on 13th before fighting in defense. I think this is actually what we are commemorating, but i might be wrong. Its called taanis esther because of the 3 day fast though.

    from Daily Halacha:

3502. Ta’anis Esther is a fast day for men and women. The fast day is to remember that Hashem listens when one is in a time of danger and need, as he did at the time of Purim. The fast is also a segulah to prevent the Satan from prosecuting an inadvertent sin done on Purim. Finally, many Mikubalim write that the decree against us from Haman has a potential recurrence each year and the fast day is a defense against the decree. You can teach yourself a skill online, like coding or graphics or sign language.

Orrrrr you can decorate tthe office for purim shtick and then look clueless and innocent tomorrow when the boss asks 😀

just a warning about staying up the night. that always hits me not the second day of being awake but the day after, so if you are zombie-like on thursday, be aware it may just be that.

there was an article recently in the binah about insomnia. I will try to find it and post some points.

I know music before lying down, just to get sleepy and relaxed, works for some. Have you tried white noise? You can get the effect by turning on a radio talk show on low, or onto a fuzzy channel.

And something i push my friends to do is to go to bed when they start getting tired naturally, not staying up past that. Even if it messes up your schedule by having early nights for a few nights, it may get your body back in rhythm.

i dont think most chassidus’s claim to be the first girl’s schools in america… Nonetheless, exactly what? There are school’s right of mo that are not part of the BY ‘family’. Not only chassidish schools either.

goq- i actually didn’t… not sure why not though

wiy- an 8 inch tall dog doesnt really have a big enough mouth to bite you, unless you’re offering a finger. if it attempted, it’d probably at most make teeth marks in your pant leg.

yes, if you’re looking at the basic hashkafos only of shmiras hamitzvos, emunah and bitachon, personal growth, and teaching chumash and mussar, yes then they are the same. But again, that’s in a broad sense.

wait, all Bais yaakovs have the same education and hashkafos? Not that i’m aware of. Unless you mean hashkafos in a broaaaaaaaad sense, and education meaning they all learn chumash and halacha and not gemora?

i’d be extremely surprised if the school/teacher isn’t doing their own investigation privately. If it is a girl, she is obviously either in need of the money that badly, or is not well. Either way, it wouldnt be good for her classmates to find out. It’s something best resolved secretly. I hope this is happening behind the scenes and you just dont know, and i hope if it IS another girl, that none of the other girls find out.

purple- not that your selfish, but that your desire for her to be married is for you, from what you said. I know you want her to be happy really, but in your fun reply to me, you only mentioned the others and thats what he’s pointing to. If you know it’s not true, skip the message. If part may be, take whatever mussar’s applicable. Dont be offended though, i dont think it was a personal attack.

But it’s true, a bracha is not a promise, segulos are risky ground. Daven for her to have clarity in her dating and an easy time, without too much agmas nefesh, and b’ezras Hashem in the right time she will find the right one

i’m with superme. The worrying’s the worst and will only make your stomach hurt from fear. It could be anything, your symptoms are very generic right now. Anything from a stomach bug, constipation, allergy (to food, lotion, dryer sheets, etc), food poisoning, nerves, all the way along the track to something serious. But why fret and imagine the worst? Trust your doctor and GI, listen to their advice, try their suggestions, and they will most likely diagnose and help you. Don’t start gooling your symptoms, or labeling yourself with every suggestion put up here. Just relax, daven to feel better, and trust the doctors as messengers from Hashem. Think positive!! 🙂
