Haven’t been on the CR in months…
WOW- ur patience is really inspiring. and i dont even mean for your son! some of the comments and judgments and assumptions posted really upset me, and i would be quite defensive were they directed at me! you answer so calmly and peacefully… a lesson to me. and that was a tangent
came on to share a glimmer of hope from this side! All my siblings and grandparents are coordinated to come to us for pesach this year for the first time in maybe 10 years. an invitation was extended to my brother to join, to see the family. He is considering!! I’m afraid to hope! even if he doesnt come, the fact that he is considering!! its a spark! a something! a tolerance for pesach for the benefit of seeing family? thats more than he’s had for years! i never knew if i’d see even this much again. BH for a spark of hope!
August 10, 2014 3:34 pm at 3:34 pm in reply to: Girl Refusing a Shidduch Because Boy is Shorter #1026974SaysMeMemberjust cuz i’m finding this thread of judgement amusing, i’ll speak up. I am one of those ”pathetic” ”fools” who won’t go out with a boy who is shorter than me. Not because i’m short and dont want to create a whole generation of ”short kids” but because i’m tall. Having ggone through life looking downwards (sometimes wayy down) on classmates etc, i do know for me personally, i need someone my height +. Yes to me, it’s important, and one of first qs i ask when suggested a boy.
For all the criticism though, how many boys would go out with a girl taller than them? That’s also a minority

July 20, 2014 8:52 pm at 8:52 pm in reply to: Is there less CR activity than there used to be? #1024169SaysMeMemberh_e- yes there’s a war going on. Yes there are yidden being killed. Yes there are always yidden sick, in need of refuos, and yeshuos. Yes people are in tzaar, and not just re the war. That doesnt stop life. People still need to make supper. People still take their kids out on sunday. People still get mosquito bites. Some people still have to go through their regular daily schedule. Some people still come here for their kosher break. Some people still need downtime to unwind. Perhaps some from completing sefer tehillim for the matziv? You yourself are on here instead of collecting tzedaka or davening, and hey, as far as i’m concerned none of my business and who am i to know who u are, whats going on in ur life, what u’ve done today for zchusim or for yourself. If s/o innocently wonders aloud whether its quieter here, why not? Perhaps s/he didnt even mean in the past 4 wks but rathertthe past year. Why judge? Let’s be dan lkaf zchus. That too is part of the achdus the rabbonim are asking us all to work on, is it not? Lets all try to keep all loshon hora, putting down of others, unappreciated mussar, and negativity down, no? Good for you for having the matziv on your mind. But we dont know that another does or doesnt so… Positive energy, positive words. Thank all for listening π
July 2, 2014 7:37 am at 7:37 am in reply to: New Chovevei "Rabbi" is as Orthodox as His Wife #1021962SaysMeMemberrequest to close. If not because of loshon hora, then at least in an effort of continued achdus between all yidden, as encouraged by many rabbonim b’zchus the 3 boys hy’d
June 25, 2014 3:06 am at 3:06 am in reply to: Poll: When you read, how do you turn the pages? #1021260SaysMeMemberdw- lol
i turn d- from bottom corner
SaysMeMemberyeah, i like potato chips. Bbq corn chips too. Also caesar salad dressing. Even tho i know those all have like 25% of your daily fat in one serving.
If they werent bad, i’d like them even more!
SaysMeMembersweet bread π
June 16, 2014 5:53 am at 5:53 am in reply to: Foods you disliked or never ate but then found out you actually like/love them #1019920SaysMeMemberfinally tasted sharp chrein n found it was fantastic on gefilte fish. I dont like tomatoes, so took me a long time to try pasta sauce which is now a part of my (practically) daily diet.
Most foods i dont like i’ve tasted, many i retaste every once in a while.
Wont taste? Sweet bread, pupeks, spinach smoothie (or any of that sort), beer since being given a taste at age 10 or so.
SaysMeMemberwhy is that your goal, to be at the lowest weight for your height?
Different people are built differently. If you are any bit broad, or muscular, or just ”heavy-boned”, you shouldnt be at that lowest weight anyhow. A number on a scale is not a great goal in and of itself.
Assuming your weight loss goal IS healthy and dr approved, losing inches instead of numbers is a good thing. Keep in mind too that muscle weighs more than fat
SaysMeMemberi dont think many shadchanim working w yeshivish ppl ask if the single is ‘with-it’ or ‘greasy’ and then turn half away. Cmon. Shadchanim work with ranges of singles and then try to match up appropriate pairs and types.
SaysMeMemberwow- he’s a teen with a teen brain… So a long time is exactly what you said earlier- when he matures more. Hard, hard, hard! I know…
I got a glimpse of my bro yesterday, n just cried.
SaysMeMemberi think the pack came with 14 days
SaysMeMemberif your baby at 8 mths still has severe reflux that she wakes up every 15-30 minutes crying, why isnt that being dealt with? If reflux is waking her in pain, ignoring her cries or routines wont get rid of her pain
SaysMeMemberi thought there was something about if using with hot food needing a hechsher… Or is that for pesach?
SaysMeMemberthen its individual. I used the original crest strips 2 yrs ago n stopped after 4 days, thats how well it worked for me.
Unless you mean the toothpaste
SaysMeMemberwow- bezras Hashem, good news soon. To put a twist on perspective, bH he is lingering at this point, hopefully the bottom peak, n the curve turns up from here only! And bH he isnt declining further, like by us…
SaysMeMemberrefuah shleima! Did ur doctor not have any suggestions for why you get it often or how to prevent it??
SaysMeMemberiBump +1!!
SaysMeMembermazel tov!
SaysMeMembern u shared this because? Other than wanting to start a CR dispute
SaysMeMemberno, there isn’t, n i’m not a shadchante either. I just fiddle with ideas and occasionally pass them along to someone who will suggest them. As far as a list of shadchanim in general tho, i believe the hamodia has a list printed?
SaysMeMemberi’ll tell u this much. If u give that description to the shadchan they will apprec the detailed description that rly does describe what ur abt n looking for! π Oh n have i got a boy for u!

SaysMeMemberthats great π
SaysMeMembera failed attempt at humor too. This isn’t funny, esp if ppl are taking it seriously.
Imo, should be closed
SaysMeMemberhaha yup! When you dont actually need the instructions, they make for a good laugh. I send my friends a pic n we all try to work out the translation. Great entertainment!

SaysMeMemberthanks lf
SaysMeMembersecond of all?
SaysMeMemberlf- i know it was, n it was what my response to u there meant too. But not my son i’m referring to.
First step would be him coming to the seder, literally coming home…
SaysMeMemberi wish he would come home for pesach :'(
SaysMeMemberoomis +1 and nice poetry skills!! Love the play on words too π
SaysMeMembertaom- as long as you know it isnt dependant on the posters’ opinions whether they personally may or may not think its an issue/attractive. There are a selection of books on tznius out there, both halacha and hashkafa
SaysMeMemberwhen davening b’tzibbur, some wait to step forward from shmoneh esrei til kedusha which goes into ‘kadosh’x3 when u rise up onto ur toes x3. So some person somewhere thought that was part of ending shmoneh esrei n not kedusha, and taught it as such to his/her students, and thus began a ”minhag” without reason. No u dont have to rise up on ur toes at the end of shmone esrei
