Parking opportunities can be worked out with just an iota of creativity.

Maybe you can use an iota of your creativity to solve some major parking problems in NY (and lots of other places)?

First show how you can make normal parking in a normal city. Then you can start figuring out your abnormal city! (I really don’t want to schlep all my groceries from my assigned parking space 3 blocks from my home when their are empty curbs all the way to my house…)

headlights strictly prohibited (if you can’t see, don’t drive)

Headlights are very helpful to pedestrians walking outside at night! Without them, how would you see that car coming at you?

And in your make believe city, you’d probably have very dim street lamps, right? So no street lights and no headlights! Let’s see you drive in the dark! (Yes, their will still be cars, trucks, buses, emergency vehicles in the streets – you said so yourself. There is no such a thing as a perfect world. Sorry!)

And “sometimes” honking can save a life.

These inventions may be annoying to you because people abuse them, but their real functions can be lifesavers!

Would you also want silent cars? Why not? Much less noise! Well, read this:

Ruling: Liberal Democrats said blind or partially-sighted pedestrians would be vulnerable

It follows lobbying from British MEPs and campaign groups including Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Electric cars and plug-in hybrid cars such as the all-electric BMWi3 or the Toyota Prius currently emit very little sound when running on electric power only.

Campaigners say this particularly dangerous for partially-sighted and blind pedestrians.

Earlier proposals from the European Commission called for the installation of an artificial sound system to be done on a voluntary basis only.

But Liberal Democrat MEPs successfully introduced an amendment making this a mandatory requirement for all electric and hybrid vehicles.

Following the vote manufacturers in the EU will have five years to comply with the new rules.

I saw an article about Ashoka Mukpo, an American video journalist who is now home after recovering from Ebola he contracted while working in the virus-ravaged West African country of Liberia. Here are excerpts from his interview with The Associated Press.

Mukpo described the fear he felt when medical workers appeared at his bedside in the heavy duty gear needed to prevent the spread of the deadly infection.

Many West Africans who survive Ebola lose a family member, or their entire family, to the disease, Mukpo said, and his heart goes out to them.

More than 10,000 people have been infected with Ebola and nearly half of them have died, according to figures released Saturday by the World Health Organization, as the outbreak continues to spread.

The Ebola epidemic in West Africa is the largest ever outbreak of the disease with a rapidly rising death toll in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. There have also been cases in three other West African countries, Spain and the United States.

The U.N. health agency said Saturday that the number of confirmed, probable and suspected cases has risen to 10,141. Of those cases, 4,922 people have died. Its figures show about 200 new cases since the last report, four days ago.

But I also understand that sometimes people make light of serious situations as a coping mechanism…

That may be true some times for some who are going through a hard time. To soften the situation they (or someone wise) would make a joke. But here, these people are stam joking around. That’s what they do. And I feel that is wrong. Like RebYidd23 said, would cancer jokes be appropriate? I think not.

    oyyoyyoy, please stop!

The iPhone 6 is not bigger then other iPhones, the iPhone 6 Plus is. I have never used any Apple products (for more then a couple of minutes) and I can’t help here.

Please note, their is rumor that the iPhone 6 (Plus?) can bend in the middle while in your pocket. I saw a video and it really can bend just by applying hand pressure! (And he tried bending it back and the screen cracked. So if your phone starts bending, don’t try bending it back!) He tested out a Galaxy Note and it did not bend at all.

Before switching phones, do some research. Check out online reviews and ask people who actually own the phone.

    Hatzlacha!

When you live in a dorm/dirah and don’t like or don’t have Yeshiva food, you ate forced to learn how to cook. I messed up many a time, but I’m getting there! It gets easier after you get the hang of it. Also, ask others for help (mother, mother-in-law?!, sisters, sisters-in-law, friends and the CR) and as I mentioned check out stuff online. You can learn lots of easy tips and stuff! Have fun and Hatzlacha!!

Garlic, pepper, paprika (you don’t need salt, there is enough salt on their from the kashering)

Rub the spices into the chicken and that’s it! Really not so hard!

sm29, that video is what made me check out “The Shabbos Project” and after watching some other videos I was totally blown away and on awe of this whole project. However, since I am still ???? and I don’t have my own Shabbos table, I felt I could not do much to participate in this amazing event until I remembered Reb Shmuel Birnbaum’s message from years back. Every one can be a part of this project! Join us! Pick something that you have trouble on your Shabbos observance and try this week to be extra careful with it. Remember to say ??? ??? so it should not be a promise.

In honor of the Shabbos Project, I think it’s appropriate that AYC’s “Shabbos Project” be Bumped. All over the world, Jews of all different backgrounds and levels of Orthodoxy are going to keep Shabbos together! This is an amazing event which we all should be part of.

But what are we doing to “keep Shabbos”? We are not doing anything different. We enjoy the davening, we stuff ourselves with food and we have our ???? ??????! We are not giving anything up for Shabbos!

Rabbi Shmuel Birnbaum ??”? said at one of the Shabbos Parades that we want people to close their stores and keep Shabbos, but what are we, the Torah world, giving up for Shabbos? The Rosh HaYeshiva suggested that before going home Shabbos morning to enjoy the seudah, one should learn ???? ????? ????? ??? (for a specific amount of time). From then on, the Rosh HaYeshiva did just that!

What better week to improve our Shabbos observance then this coming Shabbos? Imagine how this one Shabbos is going to shake the heavens! Hashem will cry tears of joy and say “Look at my children! Across the world they are keeping my Shabbos! Many for the very first time in their lives! Others strengthening their ????? ???! And others bringing in to their homes those who have no Shabbos! How can I continue to punish them when they are ?????? ????? ?????? ?????? ???????

    ????!

I, ??? ???, will try to be completely ready for Shabbos 40 minutes before ????? this week.

    How are you #keepingittogether?

    May this Shabbos be a ???? for ??? ????? and may we be ???? to greet ????, ????? ?????? ???!
