I wish I had a suggestion for the nail biting. I still have to fight with myself not to bite. I am not makpid not to peel them as long as I don’t bite… Maybe we should see Dr. Pickell (from The Wayside School) to help us with our addiction? I’m just worried about the side effects!!

Being ready for Shabbos early is a very special thing! It shows that Shabbos is not a burden that we must do, but something beautiful and we want more of! I will try to join you and accept Shabbos 40 minutes before ????? (my community’s ????? ???? time).
I also like the idea to stop and think about the good things we have! We must show Hashem we appreciate all the good he gives us!

I think I made a mistake yesterday. I cut my (finger)nails for the first time in my life! They were growing slowly and I was having such a hard time not to bite (or peel) them, so I cut them. But I had no clue how! And they were still small and hard to get into that little nail clipper. So I ended up cutting off halfs or going too much and pulling off skin from the sides (which hurt). And now they are bothering me even more! The whole day I was peeling them and I even put my fingers in my mouth 3 or 4 times (but I stopped myself before biting)…
That’s my nail biting update. Hope the rest of you are having an easier time! (And if you are one of those normal people who don’t have such a habit, thank Hashem every single minute!!)

I’m so sorry to hear that. It must be very frustrating! I’ve had my ups and downs but B”H I have not bitten in the past 12 days! They still drive me crazy but I just try to ignore them.
As was mentioned a number of times, disposable gloves really help! If your embarrassed about wearing them, think that it is better all the embarrassments of this world then one second in front of Hashem! (HaTanya(?) Reb Amram Chassida)
Remember, Hashem doesn’t ask us to be perfect! All we need to do is try (and daven!). If we succeed or fail is not the main thing! A ???? falls, gets up and “tries, tries again!”
