SayIDidIt™Participant
DY, huh?
SiDi™
SayIDidIt™ParticipantDY, I debated if popa should be capitalized or not…
SiDi™
SayIDidIt™ParticipantAre you in the habit of giving gifts to people who don’t know you?
A Chassan to his Kallah? They don’t know each other (as much as they think they do!)
Anyhow, you could tell her as you’re giving it.
If you tell her, great! My problem would be giving fake and allowing her to think it’s real.
popa said it very well:
If anyone gave me fake jewelery without telling me, it would completely negate all the good will from the gift when I eventually found out.
SiDi™
SayIDidIt™ParticipantIf you give it to her without any explanation, she will think it’s real (unless she knows you) and IMHO that’s not being honest.
SiDi™
SayIDidIt™ParticipantRebYidd, did you Bump this for me?
Interesting topic, but it still doesn’t answer my question. What is it about REAL flowers that women like so much?
http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/flowers
About buying fake jewelery, if she thinks it’s real, I think that’s deceiving and not fair! Especially if one of the main points of a gift is that I’m willing to spend money on you. She thinks you spent $YYYY+ on her when you really spent $YYY-, and that’s lying…
SayIDidIt™ParticipantLF, I have no clue who Miriam377 is.
SiDi™
SayIDidIt™ParticipantIt pains me because I have his first 5 cds.
If it pains you so, you can always destroy them…
SiDi™
SayIDidIt™ParticipantAnother question:
Ladies, would you rather a small present every week/every other week (flowers, CD, book etc.) or one nice gift every few months (jewelry or the like) [not in place of birthday/anniversary present]?
SiDi™
SayIDidIt™ParticipantMiriam377,thanks for posting this!
SiDi™
SayIDidIt™Participantcozimjewish:
…but people generally don’t want to spend money on expensive gifts…
RebYidd23:
Flowers are also something you can give with another gift.
So RebYidd, that’s just raising the cost…
—
The Wolf, did she appreciate them? How did they compare to real flowers and what was the price difference?
SayIDidIt™Participantthe plumber, I’m not a women, but I don’t think you’re right! If I know she is a big fan of Shwekey and I buy her his latest CD, that’s not saying I don’t want to hear her! If I get her a new novel, that’s not saying she’s uneducated! It’s saying I care about what she enjoys and I’m willing to spend my money for her!
I purposely did not put jewelry on my list cause it’s very expensive. But CDs are around $15 today. Books are between $15-$30 and flowers are $20-$50 (on all these categories, there are cheaper and more expensive. Prices given here were from searches online: ArtScroll, Feldheim, Mostly Music and a number of Flower sites.
So flowers are around the same price as CDs and books. So why are flowers better?
I hear what The Goq is saying about being temporary but I still don’t get it! Food is also temporary. Or a gift card to a spa (not to make you all pretty but to relax and enjoy. This stuff is beyond me…) or something like that. I’m spending my money on you cause I appreciate/love/respect you!
FFBBT613, I don’t think flowers are “out of the norm”. From what I understand, it IS the norm!
If she likes having pretty flowers on the table, buy nice fake flowers and every couple weeks get something else so she can change them.
cozimjewish, would you rather a new novel or a bouquet of flowers? How about chocolates?
SayIDidIt™ParticipantCome on! I wasn’t talking about a vacuum cleaner!! A book, CD, clothing, dinner out… Things that can be appreciated and enjoyed for more then a couple days (except dinner out, chocolate or any food product).

Is your new subtitle better?
SiDi™
SayIDidIt™ParticipantAnd why not have someone special buy them something they can actually do something with?
And fake flowers don’t have to be ugly! Just do a Google search for fake flowers, they don’t look bad at all!

Thanks for the compliment! You’re making me blush!

Thanks!
SiDi™
SayIDidIt™ParticipantLior, out of 371 contacts, 49 are on WhatsApp and 5 are on Telegram. 3 of the Telegram contacts are on WhatsApp and 2 are not.
I’m not sure what shpitzfrum is talking about. Maybe there is another messaging app called Beeper…
I don’t see the point in so many different social media/messaging apps and sites that basically do the same thing. But everyone hopes they’ll become famous.

Thanks!!
Mods, give her what she wants, please!
SiDi™
SayIDidIt™ParticipantLior, that is what I was pointing out, for me it’s 5 to 49! But then, when Facebook started, everyone said what’s the point of using FB when everyone’s on MySpace? Now look where FB is and where MS is… Time will tell!

SiDi™
SayIDidIt™Participantkj chusid, to answer your question seriously, I installed Telegram to check it out. It looks OK, but not that much different from WhatsApp. It does have more functions then WA and is completely free! However, I only have 5 contacts compared to 49 on WhatsApp…
On the Google Play Store, WhatsApp is rated 4.4 (from 22,611,494 ratings; 15,932,661 Five Stars) and Telegram is 4.2 (from 1,069,141 ratings; 614,795 Five Stars). WhatsApp was downloaded over 500 Million times and Telegram 10 Million.
Information as of Jan. 27, 2015
Would be interesting to compare these numbers on Jan. 27, 2016
SiDi™
SayIDidIt™Participantkj chusid, you said “Forget it just forget it”, so I didn’t bother to respond to “ur stupidity” but then you disregarded your own post and wrote another inappropriate comment. I will repeat myself, please consider carefully your words before posting. Thank you!
SayIDidIt™ParticipantLior, that is who they are and I’m OK with it. My entire post was in reference to my previous post on Veltz Meshugener’s “
In defense of your fakery” thread.
http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/in-defense-of-your-fakery#post-553716
SayIDidIt™Participantkj, your post reads like a that to anyone who doesn’t know of an app you happen to know of. Please consider carefully your words before posting. Thank you!
SayIDidIt™Participantkj chusid, threating people that you will slap them (even jokingly) is highly inappropriate.
SiDi™
SayIDidIt™ParticipantJust to clarify a recent post of mine, I am not embarrassed to wear a hat and jacket. However, I do find it very uncomfortable to walk around all day with them. And so, if I’m outside and need to daven Mincha, I will daven without a h/j instead of running home to get it.
If you don’t like it, too bad! That’s me. Am I Yeshivish?!

January 20, 2015 8:14 am at 8:14 am in reply to: The Laboratory II – Try Your HTML & ASCII Art Experiments Here #1054218SayIDidIt™ParticipantSorry, I’m not an artist!
SayIDidIt™ParticipantI’m a bochur who went to Yeshivish Yeshivas my whole life. I am considered Yeshivish but I don’t really feel that way. I’m not such a learner and I am now working. I dress black and white but do not wear a hat (or jacket) everywhere I go. I will even go to Shul without h/j. I do not listen to goyish music (most of the time) but I have no problem watching movies.
So who am I? I am me. And I don’t try to pretend I’m someone else.

As a general rule, the more often your posts are censored, the closer you are to a real person.
I don’t find that for myself. I have very few censored posts (Mods, if I’m wrong, let me know!) and I feel my posts are me.

ICYDK, this symbol is called Grave accent.) before and after your artwork.SayIDidIt™ParticipantLG! Is that really you?! Haven’t seen you around recently (well, I haven’t been here so much either…) Hope everything is going OK for you!
(I’m biting my nails as I type 🙁 )
Anyway, maybe we can all come out of hiding and get the CR back to it former fun!
SayIDidIt™ParticipantFinally! No more blue! Maybe YW was honoring the NYPD? Or maybe they turned Zionist for a bit? And then kj chusid came back and we all realized that we were completely wrong so we removed the Tzionosh blue and white (only leaving a few for the Police). Or maybe the Mayor showed up and most of the Threads in Blue turned their backs and left leaving only a couple…
I think I need some sleep!
SayIDidIt™ParticipantI guess this makes it eleven!

I know that if I had such a homework assignment when I was a kid, I would have been frustrated after a couple ??????. I think it would be a lot more beneficial to teach kids the meaning of the Parsha then have them read without understanding.
And I do agree with popa. Doing ???”? when you understand it is very good and ?”? not babbling. However, to have a 9 year old do it IS babbling.

You have an interesting idea here but I don’t know what posting it here will do. Maybe discuss it with a Rebbe or Principal.
On a side note, I have trouble doing ???”? with ????? because I don’t understand it and it really doesn’t help me understand the ????. I know it was written with ??? ????? and it’s very holy, but I don’t have the patience for it. I started doing ??”? with ArtScroll instead. I think kids may have the same problem as me…
