    DY:thanks

yekke2:Your grandfather probably saw it in the Taamei Minhagim .The Magen Avraham actually gives a different reason he says that the Maharil had a special tallis and he used to fold right away in order to do a mitzvah right away and he said the people of tzippori(Berchas 53) would do the same.

I will look up the Rivevos Ephraim who talks about folding a tallis on shabbas.

The Rivevos Ephraim chelek 8:362 ,holds to cover after the shel rosh because it might br a hefsek.in chelek 8:12 he brings from the Chazon Ish that he would take the covering off and then put it back on after he made the bracha of the shel yad and made the wrappings.srr it inside for alot of sources on the topic.

In sefer Tshuvas Avigdor Halevi (Rav Nebantzol) on pg 65 was asked if it was hefsek to cover ones teffilin she’ll yad with his sleeve before putting on the rosh,he answered that it is not,the questioner asked why not ,the Rav said because it is a chelek of the mitzvah.

The sefer Mor Uktzia asks a very strong kasha on why it took 8 days to get new oil. He asks that there is a Mishna in taharas which is qouted in mesheces shabbas ,perek chavis shnishbarah which says that if a tamai meis squeezs out oil from olives without touching it and it being smaller than an egg the oil is not tamai,so why couldn’t they just squeeze the oil without touching it?

    old post : http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/why-is-challah-braided

Having 12 challos comes from the Arizal quoted by the Ben Ish Chai Parshas Vayara 15 and he shows how to set it up. See the GRA who explains the 12 challos as splitting the two into 4 by the three meals = 12.

The Shulchan Halevi(Rav Belsky) 4 says that a mesh beged is patur from tzitzis and if one makes tzitzis he is not mekaem the mitzvah and if he wears it on shabbas there is an issur of hotzah.

Rav Moshe held one does not make a bracha on them. However,Rav Sternburch(Tshuvas v’hanhagos in chelek 5) discusses this and he seems to hold that it is considered a beged aand it is no problem at alll have not seen it in a while though.

Yitay: Whats the problem on shabbas if one holds it is a beged and any beged is a mitzvah D’orasia?

See also the Tshuvos HaGrach(Rav Chaim Kanievsky) when asked did the Chazon Ish and Steipler permit paos nachris he answered yes. There is a very strong bases in permitting it(does depend where one lives )

The Piskei Tshuvos 5:492 brings down that scrupulous individuals are accustomed to eat matzah on peasach sheni. In footnote 9, he brings down that in the siddur Yaavetz (Rav Yaakov Emden) that it was revealed to him from the heavens that the kedusha of pesach and matzah lasts until pesach sheni because when they went out from Egypt they ate the matzos that they came out with until the 15 of iyar (whereupon the man fell as it says in Kiddushin 38).

The gemara in sanhedrin explains that two strands of fire came from the kodesh kodashim and entered the sons of Arons nostrils and they were consumed. Why were they killed by these strands of fire? A gemara in eruvin explains that if one paskens infront of their rebbe they should be bitten by a snake, then they should have been bitten by a snake(gemara says this is what they were guilty of) why by fire instead? There is a medrash that says there was no snakes in the midbar because strands of fire consumed them. Since there was no snakes the fire which consumed the snakes was used(Tiferes Yehonasan)

cheftze: the Shev Shematzah (same author as the Ketzos) He said them at his sheva brachos.

From BaalHabooze(Dvar Torah Thread): Here’s another beauty.

The gemorah learns out you can marry a woman with money from the gezeira shova from our parsha:” ???? ????? ….???? ???? ????? ?????.”

The troubling aspect with this is, why not say it straight out! Why send us to the story of Efroin, where Avrohom bought land from him, why does the torah make us read about this greedy conceited man Efroin, I mean, my gosh, do we really have to come on to HIM to learn out money can be used for marriage?? Say it out:???? ???? ???? ?????? (??????? ????)!

The answer is that we see something interesting by that meeting, from BOTH parties involved. Efroin thought he’s getting the deal of the century by selling this dark old cave for a clearly overpriced cost. Avrohom was more than delighted to pay for this burial plot which Odom and Chava were buried in. Each one beleived HE got the better end of the deal! AND THAT’S HOW PEOPLE SHOULD ENTER A MARRIAGE!!! Both the chosson and the kalla should look each other in the eye and think to themself, Wow I can’t beleive my fortune! I won the lottery! My bashert is the greatest thing ever, I can’t beleive how lucky I am!

Now, go use this vort by your next sheva brochos 🙂
